  1. I think what happened is that someone made a pricing error. They are choosing to ignore Ronnie knowing that sooner or later he will give up calling. The proof is in the fact that the "new" price is over $5000.00 plus taxes. If you really want the car, I would ask for the owner and if that doesn't work, I would contact the better business bureau and get them involved. They must sell at the published price or print a retraction/or notice of a pricing error in the same medium they advertised in.
  2. I think he is working with the Vikings scouting team trying to figure out what players to draft! lol
  3. I didn't respond because I don't have a parts car. I am however interested in going out to the local u-pick lot and grabbing one out of a Cadillac[no Reattas in the lot, however I believe they are the same]. The thing is living in Wi. the temperature this month of Jan.has been close to zero and with any wind it is 10-20 below with the wind chill. Then when the temp comes up we get snow and lots of it. I will grab it and send one to you Ronnie and you can rebuild it if you want. Just give me some time. Regarding the removal of this unit how do I remove it?

    LIGHT SHOW

Just got my car back from the body shop. They removed the latches to paint then reinstalled and now no light show. Odometer comes on, as do interior lights, including dome light. Just no "Light Show." Where do I look in FSM for help? [Actually so the body shop can repair].
  5. There is another post going about stereo and cd installations. Its called "New Reatta need some advice on a few things". I am going forward with the GPS unit. What I did was this: I went to the local u-pick yard and grabbed another cassette deck. I gutted it out and took it to a friend of mine that works in a machine shop. He is going to machine a new face plate using a metal bracket and a smoked plastic panel to fit the GPS unit I have. I then am going with the suggestion of an MP3 lead that I will plug into the harness off the radio. I asked the question, and it was answered, that I could use the original casssette deck to trick the radio into believing I have a cassette tape in, then disconnect the unit and install the MP3 lead. Remove the cassette deck and install the gutted cassette box with my GPS. I am thinking this will work. Any coments?

    tranny question

If that is what was running thru your head you still would be without an air bag. They didn't show up till '90. Hope you are OK.
  7. OK I get the concept of putting a gutted tape in and then removing it and the CRT will still recognize that a tape is in place, to run an MP3. But here is my situation, I want to install a GPS unit in the cassette spot. What I did was go to a local u-pick yard and got a cassette deck and gutted it so I could mount the GPS unit there. I still have my original cassette unit. What I would like to know is can I do the set up as stated above, then remove the cassette deck, install the GPS set up and plug in my MP3 to the lead as also stated above, keeping the CRT recognizing what I am doing? Or is there another suggestion?

    forum question

Go back and look at your sent message. In the lower left corner it will indicate if it has been read by the person you sent the pm to.
  11. I would go to the riv web site. Those guys are helpful/knowledgeable as well.
  12. I owned a '92 blue Roadmaster and had purchased a red '93 Roadmaster in Arizona. Had the title as I bought it from a dealer in Arizona. I did a license plate transfer the week before I was to fly down to pick it up and as luck would happen I got pulled over by a state patrol officer for speeding that same week. He asked me what the hurry was and I told him I was late for an appointment, he said wait 1 moment I'll be right back. When he came back he walked right past my door and looked at the VIN# and then asked me what was going on... Well all I could do was tell him the truth about buying a car in Az. and that because I was going to drive it back so far, I wanted to be sure I had proper registration for my return trip. I think that because I was so straight forward with him, he didn't even give me a written warning for anything [improper registration or speeding] and advised me to follow ALL traffic laws. I figure I could have owed the State of Wi. DMV $500.00 and 3 points. In Wi. most when you are pulled over by the state patrol you are going to pay both a fine and points.
  13. If you go to www.autotrader.com you will see a red '89. It is now selling for less then $4000.00. They have good pictures of what it looks like.
  14. If I am 1/2 quart low my light comes on. I check every thing like you. I then reset the computer and it does not come back.
  15. Hey Randy, Glad to see you made it! Those are great pictures. The weather sure is weird this year. Tornandos in winter. For me yesterday out on the road, driving thru dense fog in a rain storm. We get to 12" of snow on the ground and then it melts away, then we get 12" more and now that too is melted away. Two big thaws and we aren't even thru Jan. Maybe we will have spring early this year, one can only hope!Get the Reattas ready!

    1991 Polo Green

How many Polo Green cars were there?
  17. I do not have a '90/91 [i have an '89] but from what I remember pulling codes thru the dash work like this. Turn heater off. Then press off and warm until display changes. Then codes will start to come up. Write them down and report back.
  18. You da man Ron! That's what we're talkin about! However I still would check pressure at the rail and do the Padgett upgrade.
  19. Like minds think alike. That was the first thing I thought of. Here is the problem. The power cord is a flat plug but mounts in the back. I still am going with your way but I want a bracket that will allow me to easily remove the garmin. That way I can use the universal mount when I am using one of the other cars.
  20. I have a GM Reman that was in mine when I bought it. So theoeticaly it should be "beefier"? I am going to have my mechanic fiend clean the valve this spring when we do a drain/filter change. Hopefully that will cure my "won't shift out of first" at WOT problem. He thinks it will. I also by chance was on the Buick forum and that is what was recomended to cure the problem.
  21. I agree, one of my buddies bought a Prius and it has a touch screen. But still doesn't give as much info as we have. He does have a Garmin built in to his touch screen. I got a Garmin for Christmas and I will be working on a way to mount mine in the cassette area.
  22. Jon, I don't know what you do for a part time job, but it should be Reatta conversions. That project looks OUTSTANDING!!! You should consider offering your services. As we can see by reading some of the other posts that there is interest in conversions[myself included].
  23. I don't care who you are that's funny right there!
  24. I carry a portable battery jumper in my cars.
  25. My '89 floor mats had Reatta logo patches. Was the Reatta logo stitching something that came later or is that a Select 60 feature?
