    Early 90's

There are plenty of us who have a wide variety of cars and years of Riviera. Those of us also don't usually POO POO on something that isn't a generation of their choice. I enjoy the challenge and differences of all mine.
  2. have someone push the speedo cable in from the under the hood area while you pull the speedo out gently from inside. Careful there is also a speed detector with wires attached to the back of the speedo
  3. And the pity is businesses continue to make **** like this because people buy it$ Man the mighty dollar makes us do all kinds of things we wouldn't normally do...$$$ Try to buy aftermarket level ride stuff---ALMOST NONE but if you want to make your car bounce up and down they GOT IT! MAKES ME SICK$$$
  4. Buick isn't gonna do anything over here that will even come close to the past generations. Last I heard it would probably be a 4 door at that! GM doesn't have the cojones to make a Real Good Riviera nor do they believe Cadillac owners can spell a car name longer than 3 letters...
  5. Great but just in case we have recently been discussing getting these rebuilt. I was told years ago no one rebuilt them nor were any others interchangeable. Now it seems there are a couple of places that will attempt a rebuild and they are somewhat interchangeable with the G-body cars. http://forums.aaca.org/f177/fuel-gauge-digital-dash-293358.html It's just a good thing that the G-body GN GNX were so popular since we share many parts. Too bad Riviera people didn't keep up all these years where there would be a market for our parts all along like with the GN's. I hate it how you can seem to buy anything and everything to turn a car into a ________ but talk about direct replacements for parts to make them like new, few are there. Jayson
  6. Maybe you disturbed a ground?
  7. Contact Nathaniel on here he has some power antenna pictures. They don't actually have a bracket but there is a part of the antenna body that maybe extends out a little. There is a screw in the door jam that anchors the antenna. Look around in the section where I repaired my power antenna on this link and there are a few pictures you can see inside the fender. One shows the aftermarket bracket with the screw going through the same hole I'm referring to. Restoring Rivieras | Just another WordPress.com weblog
  8. Dear ____ (BigSkyMusicLover) Have you contacted any of the ROA Technical advisers about this? The Tech advisers can supply you with info on this as well as the ROA library for current members. Yes you just almost absolutely have to follow the service manual to correctly diagnose the ECC system.
  9. This is good info to know. Last account I had no one could find anyone who would repair them because they said they could not guarantee how accurate they could get them. I have no idea but if I need one of mine done I'll try one of these. Please come back to the this thread and let us know how your repairs turn out. I will caution others with digital dashes that are working. IF you have to drop your gas tank for other related repairs be VERY careful removing and replacing the sending unit. I had to replace the fuel pump on my T-type with digital dash. We reused the sending unit but after it had been "disturbed" it started flashing double dashes occasionally ever since.
  10. Roger unfortunately the Riviera digital dash sending units are not shared along the other E body cars. Just our luck huh?
  11. I know Dave, now I'm going through fan clutches. NOS are $$$ and the aftermarkets last about two years then quit! Cheap AZZ parts
  12. My AC is now blowing warm air! While it's getting some stuff done the AC guy checked it out. They said it wasn't converter properly or completely. To get it fixed correctly replace all seals, evaporator, condenser and dryer---at a cost of about $2500-$3000!!! OMG that is a paint job! I just can't imagine what in the world all the cost is. So anyone have any experience with this? With my others cars 80's Riv converting them only made them cool inefficiently. I will say when it cooled up to a month ago it cooled just fine for me the way it was with R134 in it. Maybe cause it's a smaller car to cool.
  13. If anyone has more of these or the part number please give Dennis an email at DWWaters1@verizon.net Thank you, he is looking for the same part.
  14. Car collectors can't hardly find nice tires with WW but yet you let the trash riding up and down the road decide they want WW then next thing you know WW are everywhere. It's a shame and disgrace the market follows what they do. You will also have a hard time finding tires that are made specifically to give a nice smooth ride. Now most all are built for SPORT stiff suspension...
  15. Is Dave around that pulls parts?
  16. Do you ever have black smoke come out or does the tail pipe throw soot out after a cold start? Exhaust smell rich? I guess your "Check Engine" light isn't on indicating a Rich exhaust condition? You can still pull the codes to see if any have been stored in the past.

    1978 Riviera

I think Randall Crain wanted a LXXV
  18. I wouldn't suggest it. Sounds easier to borrow a friends pickup for that. Just my .02
  19. Great meeting you Darrell and getting to see your car!
  20. Ed I just found out they are not on the camera. The ones I took are copied on Nathaniels computer and on the CD I left with Ray. Sorry
  21. Yes they are still on the camera. Send me a private message and I can upload them for you if you want from here. Otherwise I will burn you a CD.
  22. I had to borrow a friends camera for this year and Ed and Sherri Pentico loaned Nathaniel their camera to do the other half of them. Unfortunately my old webshots page is not working due to that company changing everything! I don't even have the complete set of pics just what I took. The Pentico's should have the other half. I will upload them for someone if they have a site.
  23. looks pretty complete and interior isn't in bad shape no cracked dash. This would be a good one for a mild restoration.
