I agree with windmill and these other 4 door cars aren't comparable with the 63-99 2 door actual Rivieras

Cool what did you use to strip it with? Just wire brush?

I have seen a few Rivieras that have caught on fire because someone ran a wire to this and put a switch on it to turn it off and on instead of fixing it. Problem is it has constant 12v even after key off.

If it's the blower resister for Electonic Climate Control they do not exist unless you can find a NOS or used part which is very costly! BUT... It's a possibility that Caspers Electronics sells something for it that would work. The GN's and Regals could come with ECC too so they are plagued with this problem. You could have a bad injector(s) or they could be leaking or not all balanced.

Uh I know someone who did this with another Buick 3.8 engine and the starter fluid made the MAF explode, ya know the MAF is suppose to have a heated grill inside it. Unless the MAF's are slightly different design from the 84/85 Turbo Rivieras. Should it be sprayed after the MAF?

The Riviera Owners Association has service manuals in the library and a long list of Technical Advisors who can assist ROA members. The Climate control section can be obtained through either.

Mine wouldn't go forward either then I realized if you push the seat back forward from the inner side of the headrest instead of the outer side they go forward every time for me. Can someone take a picture of this to post?

Sounds like it could be the control module in the dash but to know for sure you are going to have to follow the trouble shooting steps in the service manual to see exactly what the problem is unless you want to just start replacing parts. The SM has you put the system in certain setttings and will let you know what's wrong with it by blinking the LED after you make changes. That or try another Head unit in the dash.

Yes I want to change them. I have an unstable idle what goes in a pattern. Does fine at throttle. They are not spraying all the same or are unbalanced. My mechanic next door thinks so too. Plus I had finally changed the injectors on the t-type last thing... boy did it make a difference on that car. those injectors only had about 10k miles on them but they were old and out of balance. It was part of a driveability problem I chased for years after they were never suspected to be bad.

I am wanting to change out the 127k mile 24 yoa injectors. I have not even checked yet to see if GM still carrys them. My experience with Riviera is I had to use aftermarkets and some tended to work better than other applications. What new injectors have you all used that is the best match for the car? Thank you for pointing this out. I am a fairly new Reatta owner and need to research this to know what kits to buy. I believe you get what you paid for; the price of paying to low; and doing something right the first time and moving on...

If you have any of these, two for the sides one smaller version for trunk lid and ones that bolts onto the grill let me know. I'm having a hard time finding reasonable rechroming so I might just buy a better set. Thanks. Pics attached.

Ed it's the emblems off of an 85 Riviera I have no idea if it's electroplating. Thanks I'll wait for the info so far still haven't found anyone to do it. Or if anyone has real good quality ones for sale send me a message.
