My friend bought a brand-new orange '74 Corvette and had a similar experience to yours. The fit and finish was terrible and he had many electrical and mechanical issues from the get-go. It was so bad he drove the car directly to my house from the dealer before he brought it home to show his parents. I took it for a spin and it had lots of issues. The dealer was useless. After multiple visits, the service manager told my friend that the dealership didn't build the car, GM did, and they were done with it. It was quickly traded-in and that was the end of that.

Today's amusement: remove an old tire from a rim - or not
Harold replied to Gary_Ash's topic in General Discussion
You can also put a bumper jack on top of the tire bead then jack the car up. This method was illustrated in several factory shop manuals. I've always gotten the beads to break that way. My son got a good laugh when he saw me do this a few years ago. He thought I was kidding when I said that's how I'm going to break the bead. -
Sorry to hear of your loss. The good memories will live on forever.

The way it was explained to me, a tax deduction reduces your taxable income. The actual value you receive is the amount of deduction times your tax rate. If you're actual tax rate is 25% and you take a $1,000.00 deduction, you're 'seeing' $250.00. In other words, you're saving the amount of tax that you'd have to pay on $1,000.00 of income. What if you sold the car to someone for half of its value ($500.00)? You're seeing double the cash value of a charitable contribution and the buyer gets a real bargain. If money outweighs the 'feel-good' of donating the car, you should sell it.

I agree with the others....paint the whole fender...the repaired area will be less conspicuous that way.
