  1. I'm not going to enter the debate as to what the market value is, simply because I don't think there is enough information as to what mechanical condition this car is in. I will add, like the runningboard cost noted, that the cost of restoration on any car is well in excess of the mid-teens and up figures being bantered about here, unless one can do nearly all the work by oneself, for free. Oh, and have several years of time to devote to the effort.
  2. It would be interesting to know if the Grandson has any historical documents from the company? There is very very little, as in n.o.n.e, technical information as to what was Brennan produced and what was purchased from "typical" outside sources... The owner of the car, as well as my mechanic, would welcome the opportunity to know young Mr.Brennan(?).
  3. Yes. My Mechanic is involved in the restoration of a believed 1902 Brennan here in Dallas. Much to my surprise, there was a sign in the Red Field at Hershey this year seeking information on a 1906? Brennan in restoration. Are you this person? What year are you working on?
  4. Empire Motors 915-856-9607. They don't know me - I don't know them.
  5. headlight headquarters. don axelrod. hdlthqtrs@aol.com
  6. Not to fear....they are out there - I saw 2 at Hershey this year, but what you really want to hear is that casting company in El Paso is advertising they make them. I have NO personal experience with this company, so you should consider checking with others with personal experience if the manifold is not in stock. There is a lot of hearsay out there regarding this company.
  7. I am certain there is a buyer for your car, good luck finding the right one. - Sounds like you've started, and finished, with the car in the manner we all dream we could. Even an engine pre-oiler...impressive. With all this effort, why did you not install a block heater to pre-warm the engine!
  8. Shut this thing down before it adapts to satellite spying in all the barns, or listings for every garage sale, auction, estate sale and church bazaar worldwide. Just as Ebay has nearly extinguished a real live swap meet, your program is about to break the barrier of "some day" finding the car of ones dreams. Dangerous. I nearly bought 2 more cars the first time I did a search. Talk about playing with fire....
  9. According to Ebay, this engine sold for $100. Yup, a hundred bucks. Now, I'm no expert on 34 stuff, but that seems awful cheap to me. And what really should bug someone is the minimum bid via ebay was $1200...an auction should run as an auction whether in person, or on-line.
  10. I painted my 120B Packard Cream. All I can say is its a personal decision, best made slowly. I never liked the color, notwithstanding seeing several other 36's in varying shades of Packard Cream. Too bright for me. I tried different color wheels, which helped a bit as well as dressing it up with accessories, and then dressing it down. Best armchair suggestion I can make is look at the 35-37's on the PAC Website, as well as a pile of old PAC/PI magazines. There are several lovely 35-7CC's photo'd in Packard Cream, and many other colors. Another decision point is whether you go with a tan or black top, and what color leather... Good luck!
  11. 1940 Rollson popped up on ebay (again) - though I suspect the reserve is optimistic. There was another 40 Rollson about 6 months ago in OKC that was a much nicer project, from what pictures say.
  12. I have seen at least 3 39-1701 Town cars in my life, none of which had an "expanded trunk compartment". I would be most interested to know if you have a picture of this car to post? Interesting....
  13. I can provide a needle bearing replacement for the waterpump bushings. I usually use the needle bearing for the front and the bronze bushing for the rear. I am wondering, though, if you have any idea what is causing the failure - any chance you have the fan belt tighter than it should be? And for the nitpickers out there, 38 also had a bushing pump - Packard finally went with a roller shaft in 39.
  14. Whoa...lets get back to the Willoughby bodied project. I grew up in Utica, NY and even know where the Willoughby factory was. I missed a couple Willoughby's over the years, including the Willoughby bodied Model A the corporate secretary had, anyway ----- can you PLEASE advise just what this is, where and for how much it can be bought? thank you. And as for the fittings, they are not silver or nickel, just "german silver" PLATED, as most of the high end cars were of the period.
  15. Thanks. The fenders are enroute as I type via Greyhound Package express. Not too expensive considering they were too big for UPS or Fedex Ground.
  16. Thanks everybody....the fenders are enroute as I type via Greyhound Package Express. Not too expensive, given the size of the fenders - too large for UPS or Fedex ground.
  17. I am still trying to get these to Hershey...if I can, the ultimate destination is then Utica, NY, but I've got to get them to Hershey first....thank you.
  18. What year dash panel are you wanting? 35-36 or 37?
  19. Thank you, I'll check it out. I was hoping to subsidize someones travels to Hershey. Alternately, the ultimate destination for the fenders is Utica, NY.
  20. Anybody in North Texas or going through Dallas with space in the pickup bed for a couple fenders to Hershey? I can meet you anytime, anywhere and even put some fuel in your tank! Thank you!
  21. I have 2 fenders that really want a ride to Hershey. Anybody in the Dallas/Ft.Worth area heading to Hershey with a partially empty truckbed? Or passing through Dallas... actually they need to go (eventually) to upstate NY
  22. What a great, unique, muscle car project for someone. Since you are having a "garage sale", might now be a good time to ask you again to sell me that Edmunds manifold? Thanks -
  23. Joe - Count me in for a pair. I'll dig around in my archived emails for contact info for another guy I know is looking, in St.Louis if I recall correctly. Any idea on when you might do these?
  24. Lemme know what you need and I'll do what I can to help. Please use my direct email, flackmaster@sbcglobal.net
  25. I learned yesterday that Continental Enterprises www.continentalkit.com is considering running sidemount wells and sidemount hardware for 35-37 120's again, for the first (and probably last) time in years. If there is anyone out there considering adding sidemounts, or looking for replacement wells and any associated hardware, this will probably be a final opportunity. Note that I am not in business with Continental Enterprises, just hoping to pass the good news along - Mention my name and you'll probably pay more too!
