  1. OK, I've borrowed a pair. Anybody that wants a set might want to contact me, as after I have mine cast, I will be returning them to the generous friend who let me borrow his.
  2. Might I suggest contacting Don Axelrod, Headlight Headquarters at hdlthqtrs@aol.com . He is very good with early lenses.
  3. I'm gonna jump in on the sideline here and comment on what a very very very late RHD 1954 Patrician I saw being driven in Australia by a certain small (probably 120 lbs or so) woman in Australia last year. Looked like a '56 to me, and it definitely had working power brakes! Last seen leaving a trail of transmission fluid drops.....better get on the trail of that one, Peter.
  4. Lovely. For a distributor plate, I suggest you contact my friend Joe, who you met at the PI meet last month. I happen to know he has a good used distributor plate, because I'm the one who gave him a new one!
  5. Vent window gear, NOS 311412 (30.428) available from your friendly local 1937 Packard parts hoarder. Trunk Emblem, Packard Shield, or PACKARD double-underlined trunk emblems (repro) also available.
  6. Peter - Pulling the trans for the 3rd time? Yikes - I'd hate to be your friend and live close by! My back and shoulders hurt just thinking about it. (but I'd be happy to be either of the preceding) Anyhow, I was reading another post and noted RANDY BERGER make the following comment about the shifting on an ultramatic - ""The main thing to watch on the tranny is "flare" when upshifting. "Flare" is defined as engine runaway between shifts. That is hard on the high range clutches. If you experince that, you need to finely adjust the T/U linkage on the drivers side of the carb. "" I have no idea if this issue has crossed your diagnostic path...
  7. Petronix definitely makes it. I have not looked at the website(s), but know of at least one friend running one on his 36, so it must be...
  8. My friend Joe Palazzola, 818-625-4851 handles the 38 stuff. Me, I'm a 37 guy. I believe Joe has a banjo wheel tucked away, specific to '38. If he can't help you, get back to me and I will beat the bushes for you some more...
  9. Try Don Axelrod, Headlight Headquarters, hdlthqtrs@aol.com If it exists, he has it.
  10. My friend Jack Pinsker in the L.A. area has what you seek. email me for his phone number -
  11. I am intimitely familiar with 1097's, and can help you with most all of your needs. Anybody else out there with a 1097 that I don't know, I'd like to meet.
  12. Sticker shock indeed. I am having a similar (1937 Packard) radiator done now. Two years ago I had another one done at a cost of $450 and now I am quoted $775 for the same job. The explanation is the cost of copper, or simply that there is only one supplier in PA for the honeycomb/original style core. I also have been offered "horizontal fin" industrial core, very heavy duty for $475 or modern "v-channel" or "v cell" core for a little less. The modern core proposed would have been about 25% thinner, but promised similar thermodynamics to the original thick core. No hard data to support or review for us technical folk. I went with the industrial heavy duty horizontal fin core, as it has the same thickness and I like the sound of "heavy duty". I would be most curious to understand what others are finding re: the cost of this original honeycomb stuff. One added note, my original core is 3 1/4" inch and it seems the replacement stuff is only available 3".
  13. Faye Dunaway and Jack Nicholson - Chinatown. Lots of beautiful curves in this flick....
  14. Don Hoke has decided to sell on of his Stanley's. I have seen it, and it is a very very Very nice original project. Did I mention it is a very very nice project? Not many this complete and solid around any more. Contact me if you don't know Don... he's pretty visible in the Stanley world of late.
  15. 5/16" into a stromberg EE-14 Carb. And it was darned HOT under the hood of the Cord.
  16. 4.5" rims. Believed to have started life as a 60 series, now reincarnated as a streetrod project. Please forgive.... the car was NOT restorable as original. (interior gutted, missing drivetrain, and infected with a near terminal case of rustitis.)
  17. A friend of mine wants to add sidemounts to his car. Anybody got an extra pair of wheels? Thanks!
  18. I have one exactly like ebay item 260051359598 that I am considering selling. Mine is in better shape, though. If you are interested at market price, you are welcome to contact me.
  19. ...and what would the NAPA part number or interchange for the upper control arm bushings for a 56 Patrician? Thank you.
  20. I am in Dallas, however my casting guy is up in the Seattle area. A definite straight shooting get it done kind of guy. And NO, he does not "lose" parts. Any magic words or secret handshakes to borrow yours for under 30 days, usually?
  21. I am looking to buy, or borrow for a short time, the castings that sit atop the bumper braces for the trunk rack mounts, and a pair of the "shortie" bumperettes. I am certain 37-9 Senior is the same, and I think 1940 as well. Will happily pay a rental fee and deposit to borrow a pair. Thank you.
  22. I am looking for a pair for the rear of a 37 packard, and can supply a picture and dimensions if you might be able help...please PM me your address or email. thank you
