  1. FYI: Your Packard is an AUTOMOBILE. Most everything else would be "old cars!" Please treat her with proper R.E.S.P.E.C.T. and you'll fall in LOVE!
  2. I've noticed through experience that old auto parts are not bring the prices this year that they were last year.
  3. Here is a television interview with him at Hershey 2007: http://www.hemmings.com/downloads/videos.html?id=15
  4. According to information on the Coker site, the 6.50X19 will be about an inch shorter than the 7.00X19 of the same tire. Good luck!
  5. For some reason, this listing didn't make the list: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&ssPageName=STRK:MESELX:IT&item=150329684233
  6. After a rather lackluster auction week, I've relisted many of my items at a lower starting bid. http://motors.shop.ebay.com/merchant/41_packard?_rdc=1
  7. I started 16 auctions on ebay today, 2-21-09. Check out the "newly listed" items on Packard vintage car parts. My seller name is 41_packard from New Bavaria, OH. http://motors.shop.ebay.com/Parts-Access...ackardQQ_sopZ10 Its was time to clean out the shop!!
  8. I haven't asked, but I don't think their library cross-references go back to 1952 . . . I know it didn't for my '41. I'll find out. Thanks
  9. Does anyone know the corresponding modern paint codes for the '51-'52 colors Sunset Red Metallic and Packard Ivory?
  10. Dad brought me home from the hospital in 1950 with his first new car, a blue '50 Buick Sedanette (2 door "fastback"). He kept it until 1960 and only traded it because he was afraid he'd loose mom . . . the floor boards were rusted out. They'd get their feet wet when driving in rain. Even so, I wish I still had that car! I remember riding in the "pie shelf" on long trips.
  11. Thanks Mike and Dave! I love the old Packards for their style and durability. Parts are also easy to obtain. We tour a lot and needed a more comfortable pre-war car (wife's RA dictates it) for our favorite tours. The "First of the Clippers" filled the bill AND also fit our budget! I highly recommend this model series to anyone wanting a comfy, stylish, economical touring vehicle.
  12. It was cloth, but the original fabric pattern is out of production and nowhere to be found. I wanted originality so I researched the leather option for 1941 Packards and was able to find a perfect color match to that year. Usually the leather matched the exterior color, buy ANY standard leather color could be ordered. So I went with "pumpkin" (my term) which looks very nice with the Grove Green paint. I stayed with the basic stitching pattern of the day for Clippers.
  13. Go to my blog and see what I've done over the past year: http://1941packardclipper.blogspot.com/
  14. I think you've got a great idea and there IS a need. If I were you, I'd talk it over with a good liability attorney. He could give you the possible direction to go in your state in regards to state and local regs and also write a good disclaimer for clients to sign to get you off the hook on potential liability stuff. I've got a local guy that will work on my cars free of charge in his garage or mine. . . I just leave a cash donation to his retirement fund (in a coffee can on the bench). He's probably not legal but doesn't have to advertise and gets more business he wants! Everybody is happy, even a local State Trooper who takes his Model A over occasionally.
  15. Do you still have this engine? If so do you have any idea what motor freight shipping to my zip would be? 43548
