  1. Currious? Is BSF, British Standard Thread? And also, is that the same as Wentworth? I have a 1930 Rolls in my shed that is Wentworth. Dandy Dave!
  2. I wonder if they are going to put on part two? I agree, Maxwell. Dandy Dave!
  3. I bet he would have to sell the Buick Farm to get it, But it would be soooo worth it. Dandy Dave!
  4. There was an old local farmer friend of mine here that had a mid 50's vintage Chevy. He bought the car new, and I remember him saying that that it went back to the shop several times within a few years because the front wheel bearings would fail. He said it was equiped with ball bearings. I was supprised to find out that Chevy had ball bearings at such a late production date. Dandy Dave!
  5. WOW!!! 719, And I was one of them! Thanks for a great forum everyone. It is really about "We the People." Dandy Dave!
  6. While growing up on the farm of my youth, my father owned two IHC trucks. Bought both brand new from Ben Funk, the local IH Truck Dealer. The first was a 1966 3/4 ton pickup 4WD. was painted a light blue green. And the Second was a 1972 3/4 ton 4WD. I think maybe the model was a 4100. Was painted red. The 66 was a better truck overall. The 1972 would stall every morning as soon as you left the driveway and got on the road. My dad would cuss at it and then start it back up again. After that we had a 1976 Chevy. Dandy Dave!
  7. I helped with getting rid of car stuff for one old friend. I would rather have my old friend back as his charactor was everything. Left over stuff is just that. Stuff. Dandy Dave!
  8. My Grand dad always said, "If you can't afford the gas, don't buy the yacht." Sounds like a nice ride. May it give you many happy miles of pleasure. Happy Trails, Dandy Dave!
  9. One other thing that came to mind. Be sure that there are no exhaust leaks that are blowing in the direction of the carburetor. I've seen this several times in the past on various cars and equipment. The leaking exaust will burn the fuel out of the intake before it gets to the cylinders. Dandy Dave!
  10. After 7 or 8 years, I truthfully do not remember. Veli's of around the same period also used the Continental 6. They may be similar. Dandy Dave!
  11. Here is a link that shows you how they were hooked up to the batterys. http://www.oldengine.org/members/frank/delcoinf.jpg Cool Stuff. Old Charley Kettering was quite a fellow. Dandy Dave!
  12. These units were real popular out here in the country side where electric power did not come though until 1939 in many remote places. One old neighboring farmer, in the neighborhood that I grew up in, told me that he did not have it until 1939. He got it before a few of the neighboring houses because he was a farm, and the farms were high on the priority list. I never had one myself, but have seen a bunch of them though the years. Some of the models stood up about 4 foot tall or better. Same single cylinder design. Dandy Dave!
  13. I would also opt to check the valves. Also, take off the radiator cap and see if you see air bubbles are comming up in the water when you first start it and it is cold. If so, you could also have a bad head gasket, or a crack in something. This will make the car overheat rather quickly. These leaks will not always allow water to go back in the engine, but will allow air, under compression, to come out. Dandy Dave!
  14. Cars in pieces are only worth 10% or less than ones put together and driving. Tell her I will give her $200 cash and haul that parts pile away. Dandy Dave!
  15. I say they fit a big old farm tractor from the early years like an Oil Pull, or an IHC 30-60 Mogal. Maybe a 22-45 Titan. Ect. Dandy Dave!
  16. LOL, Don't ya be drinkin too much of that Tennessee mountian water at once now Windjamer. Dandy Dave!
  17. 32 volt Delco Light Plant. 16 Nickle Cadium batteries that were in glass cases. 2 volts each. Look Here.... 32 volt delco light Plant - Google Videos Dandy Dave!
  18. I worked on a Columbia 6 one time for a friend that has gone to the big car club in the sky. It had a Continental engine in it. These cars are rare even over here in the states. The one I helped to get running was turned into a rather crude racer and sold to I cannot tell you where??? Neat car. Good luck with it. Dandy Dave!
  19. I've done my share of picking, but the best place I ever picked was unbelieveable. A local Real Estate lady, that was a good friend of mine, helped a fellow out one time by paying his taxes. Being the smart business woman that she was, held paper against the property. She past away in her 90's and her Son, also a good friend, had the task of going though all the paperwork of the estate. She did not tell him about the loan that was never repaid, but she did mention it to me several times in confidence. To make a very long story shorter, he ended up forclosing on the property. He called me up and said, Dave, I have a clean out job if you want it. Woooo Hoooooo. Show me the way. When I got there, I had to pry the doors open in the house as they were nailed shut. Got the outer door open, and the inner door opened just enough for me to squeeze my skinny self in only to have to climb on the stuff as it was piled 2 foot short of the sealings though the whole house. Also there was a barn out back stuffed full the same way. A pickers dream come true. The kicker, I only had 10 days to get the stuff out. I called everyone that I could think of that were also pickers and sold stuff off as they wanted it. I told my buddie that 10 days was not enough time and we could have made a lot more if I could have gotten an auction house involved, but he already had the property sold. Top Picks were. A 1941ish Buick Convertible that the coons had a field day in. A 1963ish Ford Galaxy, both were in the barn. 2 one lung motors. A 1.5 HP Associated, and a 2 HP Sattley. A very cool old butter churn that I still have. And tons of small stuff between piles of trash. I worked 16 hours a day for all 10 days and did manage to get though most of it. I believe a deal like this would come around only about once in a life time. My friend wanted 1/2 of whatever I sold so It was not like I could keep everything, I had to move it. Funny thing was, when I got enough stuff out of the house, the original furniture was still sitting right where the previous owners parents had left it when they past away in the mid 1970's and the closets were 95 percent empty. And a pile of unpaid bills were still on the kitchen counter. I wish I took pictures, but just getting though things in the time frame I had to work was the only thing on my mind. Cha-Ching! Dandy Dave!
  20. Looks like it is French to me. Renault? Dandy Dave!

  25. I remember my Grandfather telling me that there was a slea and buggy factory where he grew up. The pin stripers would come to work after drinking much of the night and he said their hands would be shaking until they layed the brush to the wood. The lines would then be smooth as silk. Dandy Dave!
