  1. A NOS set these door edge guards sold on Ebay in June for $153.00. Still kind of pricey. https://www.ebay.com/itm/Chrome-door-edge-guards-trim-NOS-set-of-2-LR-Buick-Riviera-1965-1964-1963-/254630813069?fits=Year%3A1965|Model%3ARiviera&hash=item3b492ddd8d%3Ag%3ACO0AAOSwOape7q~T&nma=true&si=u3RPmOp0EQKFfSi7MOz2xwwQRj4%3D&orig_cvip=true&nordt=true&rt=nc&_trksid=p2047675.l2557
  2. Wow, that body has more waves than the Atlantic. Be sure to bring your bondo detector for this one!
  3. My Riviera has a new friend in the garage. About a year ago, I bought a very nice all-original 1967 Cadillac convertible. There is a definite family resemblance here.
  4. Here are a few more pictures showing the mounting arrangement of the headlight motor and rubber cover. The big L-bracket attaches to the cross member under the radiator, you can see it to the left in the first picture. The small L-bracket attaches to a stud on the side of the motor and one on the back of the bumper reinforcement bar. It is shown on the right in the first picture. The rubber cover is attached with two clips (same as used on the rubber splash guards). The holes are in the valence panel under the grill. The second picture shows the rubber cover in place. I have seen the rubber cover show up on ebay from time to time. Also try contacting "abandg" here on the forum, he will likely have these parts.

  6. Mint condition KD #435 Chrysler door handle & window crank spring removal tool, $55.00 plus shipping.
  7. Here's another one: https://www.ebay.com/itm/CADILLAC-BUICK-OLDS-1961-1979-NEW-DIMMER-SWITCH-GUIDEMATIC-REPLACES-GM-1481873/174326435754?hash=item2896aa4faa:g:7GwAAOSwgFxe8e-p
  8. These are still available if anyone needs one.
  9. Wow, you guys are tough! I have seen the DB version of the original Riviera tires and I've always thought they looked great but at $265, its not an easy decision to make. Truthfully, I'd love to get a set of these on my car. If I could only find a way too keep the wife from knowing how much I paid........
  10. I'm looking to replace the nearly 20 year old tires on my '65. Although they they look to be in great condition with no outward signs of deterioration it is probably a good idea to replace them for safety. What I'm looking for is a reasonably priced 225/75-15 radial with at least a 3/4" wide whitewall. I know the choices are limited outside of the pricey Coker and Diamond Back tires. My car is a nice survivor, not a perfectly restored show car so it is hard to spend over a $1000 for a set of tires. It seems like most other whitewall tire choices out there either are no-name brands or have some undesirable appearance characteristics. Cooper Trendsetters are a decent looking tire but do not come in the correct size. Hankook is also a good tire but the sidewall is ugly with the huge name and weird texture. I've also read about Suretrac and Vitour but is seems that they don't get such good reviews. I'd really appreciate hearing from anyone who has recently purchased tires for their Riviera and has been happy with them.
  11. A google image search of 1914 Studebaker touring cars confirms that is correct. Thanks!
  12. A friend has asked me to identify the make and year of this car. Thanks for your help.
  13. This truck is a great piece of history, glad to see it survived in such wonderful condition. Hope it finds a new owner that will appreciate and preserve it.
  14. Thanks for the helpful hints about applying the inspection stamp. Testor's model paint is exactly what I was planning to use. Hopefully, I'll get the desired results.
  15. I want to replace the missing A/C compressor inspection stamp on my '65 and I was wondering if anyone has made the correct stamp and would be willing to loan it to me. Looks like you can get these on ebay but I hate to spend almost $30 for something I will probably only use once. I would gladly pay postage both ways if someone could provide a "loaner". Also, if you have done this stamping did you use a specific type of paint or ink in order to get decent results? Thanks in advance for any help.
  16. On the '65 Riviera the vacuum check valve is built into the vacuum reservoir tank and they do go bad. I had the exact same problem with trunk release on my car and I added a separate check valve in the supply line from the manifold to the tank. The system will now hold vacuum for months. You should be able to pick up an inexpensive vacuum check valve at any local auto parts store.
  17. Here is mime on a 1967 Cadillac. The plate was originally on a 1960 T-Bird that I purchased in 2001. The car had sat unused since 1967 and that was the plate it had on it for 34 years. I sold the T-Bird last year and kept the mint condition plate which was just what I needed for the Cadillac. It is nice to know a little bit of my T-Bird lives on with the Cadillac.
  18. I have four pressure brake bleeder adapters for sale, all of them are in like new condition. $30/each plus shipping Branick 41G9 size: 3-1/2" x 6-1/2" Branick 42G size: 3-3/4" x 7-3/4" KD2417 size: 3" x 8" EIS T4400 size: 3" x 6" (Military truck application, Jeep I believe)
  19. Thanks again. I am trying to figure out the difference between the AL179 and DR 174. I have a GP ignition parts catalog from 1986 that pretty much combines the GM, Chrysler and AMC applications all together under their part # GC122. Both coils need an external resistor and look dimensionally the same.
  20. Thanks, does your catalog show what a AL179 coil fits?
