the tuck right in ..and the curve snugs against the curve of the cylinder..dont "overthink it" cup it in your hand..so it has gentle curve..the large part forms a chamber held in placeby the tail wrapped around cyl casting... dont give up ...

I am not directing any comment to u Mr Peterson..just the "tow it caus it's old" crowd..... I think many or our machine to be more roadworthy than in their declining years of eveyday use...yet many spend more time on trailers....bugs me..sorry..I think it dumb to have an old car that cant be used ...but who am I?? cheers

yea u tell 'em Phil If i go to a show, I pull in and tell them I want to park with the other 12 cylinder cars.... or with all the other Zephyrs even the ford v-8 guys chuckle. I am easily amused.

I suppose beauty is in the eye........even now, people consider 4 door chevys, plymouth cranbrooks, ford falcons, and anything old to be collectible / classic.... Is it good just caus it's old?? Do we say that the edsel is a great car?? or just an odd old car...collectable?? for beauty or extreme failure?? Live and let live...just dont be comparing a thing of beauty 1940 LC, to a mass produced bloated poorly engineeered generic auto with a time honored name stuck to it.. How bout a 75 chev z-28....?? low horse plastic sled living off name of previously special automobile... Why do we care about the 1 year mazda designed mkz..it said zephyr for a short time....get real. a real classic!!

Here in the vast cornfields of oHIo, I have not had that problem. The old boys are grinning asking to see that v-12.. they recognize an exotic automobile when they see one.. We are mostly "farmers" as u know, and maybe we understand that a lincoln v-12 can be worn out in the same way a chevy, honda or chrysler would be. Lincolns were not owned by the masses when new...(at least not here), so by the time they were second hand..during a time of very limited resources, war, depression, cars were run down..or lugged around for conservation quiet etc. Our cars were very modern,before the war, but then became very dated jalopys no tworthy of major repairs... Compare the modern Cadillac aluminum 4.1 v-8. It was a marvel when new..(lots of oHIo farmers drive caddys) but the engine wore out and required serious overhaul, just like our v-12, but secondary or 3rd owners couldnt or wouldnt spend that much..sooooo bolt in an olds v-8 or a chevy or drive a nasty knocking smokin mess....sound familiar..... I suppose that makes caddy 4.1 junk too...I dont know... I am bored or I wouldnt devote this much time to an pointless post...but oh well... as soon as obamma rama is elected, we will send our cash to D.C. and eliminate need for old cars to spend it on...
