  3. Pete, Does it really need to be worn out? I have three spares, & can take some photos and send them today.

  5. You might try an outboard motor shop.
  6. David, I just got back & saw your post. I hope you make a full recovery. I will post again befor my next trip. Thanks,
  7. My Standard Catalog of American Cars lists: The 27 model 96 is 30 HP with 104.25 Wheel Base. The 28 model 96 is 32 HP with 100.24 Wheel Base.
  8. John, I have a Delco ignition switch & run a Bosch Du4 Magneto on my 13 Buick. The Batt position on the switch is used to start the car on battery spark for hand cranking (or while using the acetylene starting system on my car). Once the car starts, you flip the ignition switch over to Mag to run the car. I belive the battery position is intended to provide a stronger spark for starting than a magneto without an impulse coupler.
  9. I will be leaving this weekend for London Gatwick Airport and would like to know if there are any Prewar Buick owners nearby. I will be on a business trip, but I will try to make time to visit any Buick lovers Sunday - Wednesday next week. I will be staying at The Felbridge Hotel near East Grinstead. Please send me an email this week if possible. Thanks, durcodude@comcast.net
  10. Dave, I suggest you send an email to Brian Heil & let him know how many plan to attend in what year & model Buick. I am sure the hotel will honor the group rate.
  11. Flipping the exhaust manifold would create a real nice vertical exhaust stack for my 24 Buick truck. It would be fun to have the exhaust whistle mounted where it could be seen rather than buried under the vehicle. If it were a rat rod I would definately do it!
  12. Here is another source for an original part: http://www.bobsautomobilia.com/cgi-bin/shop.pl/SID=1199146383.23325/page=product.html/product=517
  13. Try this link: http://www.fifthaveinternetgarage.com/parts/parts_counter_2.html#runtz
  14. I agree that you should contact the mfg. of your trailer to get the trailer weight, but you also need to add the weight of everything (car, spare parts, tools etc.) inside your trailer. I suggest you read as much as you can before you buy a new tow vehicle. The link below should help. http://www.sherline.com/lmbook.htm#refrn3
  15. Thanks for the info. Dave. An AC single diaphragm fuel pump & the round rod that goes into the hole in the side of your engine is what you need.
  16. Dave, I was hoping to inspire some new material here. I saw your previous post some time ago. But thanks for posting it again here....
  17. Dave, I believe the same AC diaphragm pump was used on Buick engines until the vacuum booster models came out. You will need the pump as well as the rod that pushes on the diaphragm lever. Anyone with a spare engine from the 20's should be able to help. Merry Christmas!
  18. All my Buicks are snug in their beds... And I'm drinking egg nogg with a buzz in my head... I'd be working and polishing without a care.... But the heat is turned down and it's cold out there... (Add your verse here) Merry Christmas Everyone!
  19. Greg, You are right on the money! There are lots of "old guys" working on older cars out there. Maybe some Hollywood "old guy" producer will see this thread and get with the program!
  20. Interesting thread.... I have a couple of friends with Stanleys & White steamers. They are a tinkerers car as they take almost constant tinkering to keep them in good running shape. Other interesting facts are that they can go just as fast in reverse as they can go forward; they have no transmission; and some later models had condensers so they got better than one mile per gallon of water. The Doble was known for quick warm ups because it used a flash boiler that was ahead of it's time. I recall that Doble went out of business because the cars were built better than required and were sold for too little.
  21. You're lucky to have a 34 Coupe. They are very nice examples of Buick's deco styling.
  22. 1961- 1965 (4000 - 4100 - 4300) Stamped on the crankcase at the front end of the block just forward of the right cylinder head. The engine number is readable to a person standing in front of the vehicle.
  23. A photo of my 15 Buick speedster is in the Bugle issue that covered the National Meet in Bellevue WA. I am making it a period speedster like a teen who got the family car would build in the late teens or early 20s. Lots of fun so far...
  24. Eric, To answer your question; I only had a bill of sale & no title. The inspection was required to get only a provisional title that allowed me to license the vehicle.
