  1. Just a little bit of the history of Ed Logan's '50 Buick combination ambulance/hearse. I bought the car from a fellow by Mountain Grove, Ark. several years ago. I believe it was the heaviest vehicle I have ever hauled, and believe me, there are some hills down in that part of the country. The wheelbase is 168 inches, that's 14 feet. The motor ran like a new sewing machine, and it had no brakes, so, loading it was a lot of fun. Anyway, I decided that I didn't have the time to restore it, so, I sold it to Ed, who hauled it to Texas, and, if I remember correctly, pulling it on the trailer down the highway took its toll on the tow vehicle, the transmission went out. Just a bit of history on the vehicle that Dave wants his final ride in. Thanks, Paul
  2. Mike at Buick Bonery, what trim etc do you need ? I have a guy locally who is semi-interested in the complete car, so, I have to talk to him first. If he doesn't take it, I need to know what all you are looking for so I can let you know if I have it or not. Please call me sometime before Christmas, as I will be out of touch till about the 16th of Jan. Thanks, Paul
  3. I have a '48 Super convert. parts car, missing motor, trans, trunk lid, and a few pieces of trim etc. I have a clear title for it also. It's in St. Louis, call me at 314-574-9853, Paul
  4. Wonder if they would take "Mimi" in trade ? Paul
  5. Nice picture of you squatting down, looking at the fender skirt, Barney. Never saw an emblem like that before, Paul
  6. 'Question, do either of your cars have aluminum finned brake drums on them, if so, the Kelsey-Hayes wheels won't work on them, and, are the Vintique wheels made the same way ? If so, the center of the hub of the wheel does not mate up flat against the drum hub surface, it hits the fins first. Just a suggestion, Paul
  7. I have a mostly complete '28 model 54-C for sale. Body metal is very good, fenders have surface rust, needs wood in rumble seat area and at top rear above window. Missing the hood, parts of the motor and trans, located in St. Louis, where are you located ? Call me at 314-574-9853 Paul
  8. Thanks, Fred, I had sent you an email earlier asking about the heat riser, but, it came back, undeliverable. Thanks again, Paul
  9. Does anyone out there have an extra, don't know what to call it, but, it fits on the exhaust manifold, has a side vent/pipe that goes to the intake/carb to heat it up in cold weather, and then the exhaust pipe fastens to the bottom of it. It has a butterfly in it, but, don't care about it, just need it for appearance. Thanks, Paul
  10. This subject is coming up at a very opportune time. I am trying to clean my '30 Roadster wheels. They were primed in a tan color, then painted red, then black. I have bead blasted them pretty clean, but, now, I want to keep the wood 'natural color', which is now very clean and nice. The big problem seems to be the huge amount of masking to paint the metal, and not get paint on the wood, or, vice versa. Any shortcuts anybody, thanks, Paul
  11. Please read the comments on another reply, and call, we can talk it over. Thanks, Paul
  12. The body metal is virtually rust free, the fenders have surface rust on some places, the hood, parts of the motor and trans. are missing, the wood in the rumble seat area are bad, but, good enough for patterns, the rumble seat cushion is missing, no radiator, but, the radiator shell is in good shape, has original nickle plating, bumpers are good, spare tire and mountings are good shape. Call me at 314 574-9853, cell, and I will go over the whole car with you. Thanks, Paul
  13. Harry, I am about to part out my '28-54C since no-one seems to want to buy the whole car. Give me a call, maybe we can make a deal on some parts. Paul at 314-574-9853
  14. If '39 is the same, I have all them, Paul
  15. Give Paul Rickman at 616-946-6609 a call, he can probably help you, thanks, Paul
  16. Bill, I've got a '48 RM 4 door parts car, most would fit, but, don't have time this week to even look. I'll get back to you next week, Paul
  17. I will check with the post office and see what the shipping will be, but, won't be able to do it for about 2 weeks, going on another vacation. Paul
  18. Josef, got your email, the car did not sell, so, I will take them off and sell them, they should be worth $75.00 a piece, or $150.00 for the pair. If you decide to take them, how do I go about shipping them ? I have shipped parts to Australia, but no where else outside the USA. Please let me know, thanks, Paul
  19. Unless I am mistaken, after serial number 5220972, they had insert bearing on the connecting rods. I remember that number because it is a friend of mine's phone number, how about that for a co-incedence ? Paul
  20. John, I don't know when I will get back down to the farm, which is 70 miles away, so, if you can wait, I'll take it out. Are you dreaming, or halucinating about the "J's" for the rear bumper, I have supposedly the last set of bronze castings, I don't remember what I paid for them, but, you could have them for what I paid, plus shipping, unless I didn't pay a whole lot for them, in which case, I want a huge profit. I will probably never use them on my '56 Roadmaster Station Wagon that I want to build someday. I have everything to do it with, except "TIME". Paul
  21. That last comment about the brakes used to be better sounds like the comment that Mimi Ragsdale made when she drove Mimi, the pickup in Nov. '03, "I remember it having better brakes". Paul
  22. There seems to be a bit of interest in '33 Buicks. I have a '33 model 67 that was converted into a pickup, lousily, I might add. The front part of the vehicle is literally perfect, no rust, dents etc, and runs great, has great gauges etc. But, the back of the cab is from a '69 Chev pickup, which looks horrible. So, I bought the back of a '34 Chev master body, have a '37 Chev pickup bed, and '32 big series Buick rear fenders to put on it. Then, I have all the correct tail lites, bumper etc. to make it look right. That project is going to get started in early winter. I want it to look like a factory job, which will entail changing the rear part of the door to make it slant forward. Pete has seen the vehicle, which I bought off E-Bay earlier. It will be an interesting and challenging project. Paul
  23. Thanks for the info, guys. However, I checked when I went down to the farm this afternoon, and, I do have the P/S and P/B units in a '56 Super in case anyone wants them. I would sure hate to take them out though, it looks like it would be awfully labor intensive, so, If you need them, you might want to take them off yourself, 70 miles south of St. Louis, thanks, Paul
  24. I checked today, and, I have the front bumper, but, its not in the best of condition, rusty, needs straightening etc. The guards are there, about the same condition as the bumper. Let me know, thanks, Paul
  25. I checked today, and I have a pair of '28 Master front shocks, nice and dirty and oilly, and, still have the strap snubbers on them. What would it cost to ship them to you ? A small fortune, let me know what you think, thanks, Paul
