  1. That Daimler roadster is one low slung beauty.
  2. I tend to believe that the lamps came off of a 1935 Plymouth and were fit to your car later. Without a photo of the actual holes that you speak of, it is hard to say what they are for, but I am fairly certain that I am correct. Here is a 1935 Plymouth to compare.....notice the stanchion mounts on the bottom. I also imagine that the odd shaped hole is for adjustment purposes.
  3. If they say "GUIDE" on the tops, they are related to G.M., but they are aftermarket units. Hotrodders LOVE 'em.
  4. Thanks Dean...I will imagine that I am riding in the white rumble seat!!
  5. Mmmmm....just as I suspected.
  6. Someone in the "Plymouth 4 & 6 Cylinder Club" will know.
  7. I suppose the offset hash marks on the radiator from the fan could have been from the stationary engine, but I would not think that the stationary engine would be moving forward or backward like as in a car.
  8. Dean...you are SO right! There were a lot of much nicer (in my opinion) cars there. I love the white Duesenberg.
  9. Whatever it was on has an offset fan.
  10. Also interesting to note that they would design a car that you can't put the rear hubcaps on. LOL
  11. You may need to log out of the forum and then log in again. This cleared up some issues I had with the private messages.
  12. Isn't that "glass" steering wheel actually lucite? I think that the grey car is actually a one off custom Lincoln.
  13. I do architectural drafting and it entails a LOT up scaling up and down of things. I have drawn my 1931 Dodge to scale and I am fairly certain that it does not scale up or down like a toy does. Steve is probably right...check with a mass production toy maker...Mattel or some other place may help. Where did they ever come up with 1/43rd scale, anyway??
  14. I think you can go into your "User CP" and un-check the box about email notification. Then when you come to the forum, you can do what MCHinson says.
  15. I sure wish I had been there to see those close up. Thanks for sharing.
  16. I heard from a toy car collector/maker a while back that the scales on models and toys are calculated in a different way than just 1:18 = 18 times smaller (and other scales). He used to cast up cast iron toys at about 1:20 scale, but they were slightly off. I would not be surprised if the newer ones are figure differently, too....especially since most are made in China now.
  17. That tank story reminds me of when I had to dig up the engine for my 1st 1931 Dodge.
  18. Ohhhh Susan....you are GOOD. You got me on that one.
  19. Foul play??? Why do they ALWAYS blame it on us chickens?
  20. The replacement I bought from Burchill had that pattern.
  21. Is this the pattern you are talking about? This is the pattern that Burchill Antique Auto in Port Huron, Michigan used to sell on their floor mats.I bought one years ago and it had a border around it. I imagine the border was a "cut to size" thing. It also had a jute backing.
