Radiator cap ornament - 1931 - what make car?
hddennis replied to roysboystoys's topic in What is it?
Roy, it's been years since I've seen it but it looks identical to the cap my uncle's 1937 Ford 1 1/2 ton truck had. I think we bought a repro from Bob Drake and it might have fit multiple years. Howard Dennis -
Since there is no evidence showing it was used to drive something and it is now missing it's head my guess would be it had a rare cylinder head conversion that converted it to a 2 cylinder air compressor. Howard Dennis

Ideas on how to reproduce body side bead on Chevy
hddennis replied to ShawnLancaster's topic in Technical
Never done it but what about bending thin wall tubing to match arch and then cut it in half and welding over damage? Howard Dennis -
Pretty sure roysboystoys has it right, they look like FoMoCo lower control arm strut rods to me too. Was anyone working on a street rod with Mustang II front suspension where these came from? Howard Dennis

Thanks Guys, I really appreciate your help on this. Received light in this morning's mail and found out it is the smaller 4 inch version and love it even more. Unfortunately it will require expensive restoration and not just polishing like I first thought. Has anyone ever had a brass headlight door spun? Is it outrageously expensive? Could a cracked door be soldered after straightening if the lamp was only for display? I really hate to let this little jewel go but am afraid it's restoration would far exceed it's worth, thoughts anyone?

Early Marine Acetylene Brass Searchlight
hddennis posted a topic in Automobiles and Parts - Buy/Sell
Anyone into or know anything about early wooden boat hardware? I just acquired this 6 inch brass Marine gas searchlight and would like to find a value and best place to move it to someone who needs it or would display it. It must be very rare as I've never seen another. I found it's introduction mentioned in a 1907 boat magazine and it was called the 20th Century "Baby Grand" searchlight. It is marked and was made by the 20th Century Mfg. Co. of NY. Howard Dennis -
I've just been told this is a 1924 transmission. http://forums.aaca.org/topic/270201-1925-maxwell-parts-for-sale/ Howard Dennis

Here are some of the earliest Shelby G.T.350's that were on display in the Ford Performance booth during the 2015 Rolex Monterey Motorsports Reunion. My old car SFM5S059 was shown and I'd like to get a picture of the history plaque with it's history that was displayed with it. Anyone have any ideas where to try? Howard Dennis

Pulled these pictures off the net a few years ago of a 1917 Maxwell with what I believe has a Model T Ford aftermarket water pump adapted to it. It looks like it almost bolts on and possibly the lower hose must be altered and possibly the shaft length to get to the Maxwell belt? Howard Dennis
