  1. all interesting choices............ I think the cars we choose tends to date us as well. the Jag is gorgeous and my favorite in the group- but perhaps the most expensive and difficult to maintain-I prefer the 140's have no experience on the Kaiser regarding the Mercedes, I am a 200 series fan and prob the most reliable cars in the group (230-280sl) I am with WQ on the vette-wouldnt want an automatic 6 cylinder and my preference on vettes is the 58 up- double headlights at their best. all of these appear a bit anemic to me, with exception to the Jag.
  2. could be turned into a "steamer" notice the wood stove lying next to it................. :]
  3. Make sure YOU insure your car before you ship it. dont depend on other people telling you they have insurance..............
  4. FROM NEBRASKA FIRST 250. RDZ69@AOL.COM
  5. Where are you finding batteries today? tractor supply ALWAYS has 6 volt batteries if you want an Optima, Amazon and shipped to your door free.
  6. Sometimes that social side of ownership is much more taxing than perceived. and if it is, then you are doing something wrong in life! The real story is that a Chevette lasted 19 years with his disposable income, he could have made it last 100 yrs...............!
  7. roadster roadster roadster........................ who needs a stinkin sedan? lol
  8. didnt pu on the firebird........ have a 67 camaro conv here that I need to get ready to sell. I agree, the firebirds are a lot more appealing to me then camaros- but the camaros do tend to bring a little more. buying the lit makes more sense then another car.
  9. when I list on ebay- I start low, because I want to build interest and competition. Starting at what I hope to get for a car generally produces no bids. you only need 2 people that want it.............. Randy, some nice finds there! All at great prices. Cant believe the camaro is even available at that price.......... Had a 30 Buick model 58 yrs ago- was the same body style as the Stude. That is a screaming bargain! Good solid car that needs minor work and could easily be worth double.
  10. The Buick is a good choice and gives a lot of bang for the buck. I thought you were pretty clear with what you want. A done car in #2 condition for hauling groceries..........
  11. Randy, you nailed that one! doubt one could find something much closer to what was requested, in a limited prod car.
  12. go to the ford barn.....................
  13. Hemmings is good for older buyers as well. Many are not internet savy. Sold my 30 Buick model 58 to a fella from Spain. He saw it in Hemmings. CL can be a waste of time. Ebay is my preferred method and still has many faults........... sell rate is about 50%, because many buyers are not serious.
  14. thank you AL. yes a used set would be fine. mine are shot. looks like fella loosened them up and then drove on them. they are trash. David, pm sent.
  15. spammer's posts so hopefully a moderator will remove it and ban Bam the spanner...........................!
  16. and even though many dont recommend it- you can buy an 8 volt battery for quicker starts.............
  17. Buick, those uhauls are ALL short. wouldnt even consider towing a Caddy any distance on one of those. short distance, maybe........ you need at least an 18' trailer for a caddy, unless it is from 1903. then you can put the caddy in your pu bed.............!
  18. nice looking car- worth buying if the price could be negotiated.
  19. SO MY MECHANIC HAS THE ENGINE RUNNING AND TRANS SHIFTING IN MY CORD 812. what are my options on the worn out steering box? front drive joints? this car is rough and well worn out. trying to get it mechanically sound. If that isnt possible, then will just sell it, but dont want to give up yet............. will have Gould in Mass rebuild waterpump and shafts. all my wheels have cracks and will need to be welded.............. never seen a car so tired. rdz69@aol.com
