  1. I just talked to Ed this morning & he's going to do a 1955 Packard tredle Vac for us. Cos t is $200 plus shipping. He said two day turn around.
  2. Check out the major news websites & you'll see a Norman Rockwell painting that was just re discovered. It has a Ford Model A pick up in the background.
  3. The headlights with the green tear drop jewel on the back of them are Packard, 1930 I believe.
  4. I have an idea, what if they put all the commercial vendors in one field together? You could have all three or four tire vendors right in a row. That could make it easier to compare prices instead of having to walk back & forth. Pushbutton, 82K on an original Ultramatic is great! I have a '55 400 with 48K on it & have eveyone telling me my tranny is going to go out anytime now. Do you have a modern tranny cooler on yours? I've been told that helps.
  5. Where did they get the year 1939 from? Just curious. Perhaps someone is prejudiced against Pierce Arrow who went out of business in 1938!
  6. I've always wanted to go to that pre 1942 Show they have in Connecticut each summer.
  7. No problem, just keeping you guys on your toes!!! I was hoping I'd have something to pick on West about!
  8. Wasn't a 1956 Packard "expensive & impractical?" Especially it's torsion bar suspension & push button selector which was prove to fail? Not to mention an Ultramatic transmission which wore out at 60,000 miles & an engine with a bad oil pump? Isn't this a case of the pot calling the kettle black?
  9. On the bottom of page 51 of the latest AACA Magazine, it states the "Discontinued Automobile Award" is for cars which ceased manufacture between 1939 & 1980. Someone explain to me how a 1933 Marmon won the award? The last Marmon was built in 1933 or 1934, which is several years before 1939. Is the award for cars 1929 - 1980?
  10. I say we call for a 60 Minutes Investigation!
  11. Hey guys, didn't Dragone have a Model T coupe like this at Hershey last year in the White Field?
  12. I have one of these installed in a car. I'll check tonight to see if it's the same "N26" number you have. I don't have any scematics though. I think there's a guy on e bay under the username "studiocitycowboy" who sells radio schematics. You may want to try him. By the way, there was no Bearcat model for Stutz in 1929, it reappeared in 1931 as the DV-32 boattail model.
  13. To add to the confusion, in some cases custom bodied Packards only had the serial number stamped on that plate & no dealer info or date.
  14. It's a Studebaker, but I don't know what exact year or model.
  15. While this won't count as the first V-8, the Crawford Museum in Cleveland used to have an all original 1909 Mercedes chassis with a 1913 Hispano Suiza V-8 aircraft engine installed in it, built for racing. Talk about a hairy looking car! As with many of the great cars they used to have, they sold it a few years ago.
  16. Why wouldn't you consider the V-8 Cadillac of the teens mass produced? I don't have my production figure book handy, but they had to make several thousand of them.
  17. I believe the 1929 Marmon Roosevelt used 19" buffalo wire wheels.
  18. Cadillac had a V-8 in 1915, but I don't think that was the first either.

    28 Parts Wanted

I thought 1928 used a wood steering wheel. 1929 & 1930 used a black hard rubber 4 spoke wheel, and 1931 & newer used a three spoke design. Do you have Ross or Gemmer steering? 1926 - 1928 was Ross, 1929 & newer was Gemmer.
  20. The original LeMans car is in Philadelphia.
  21. In the CCCA Directory, only the 1929 Hudson Series L is listed as a Full Classic as a series. However, since your car appears to have a full custom body by a recognized coachbuilder, I would encourage you to apply to the CCCA Classification Committee to have your Hudson accepted. I'm almost positive it will be. Let's see a picture!
  22. Doesn't the grille & grille shell look like 1934 Plymouth? The hood ornament looks like the ship Plymouth had in 1934 with the ship part broke off & just the base left.
  23. Many of these so called "expert" restoration shops become "experts" working on your car!
  24. We had a 1979 Buick Regal with that exact same hubcap.
