  1. The one I know of may be a smaller model than yours. Check with the Barnes family of Cleveland. They can help.
  2. Anyone going to this? Which hotel will it be at?
  3. Since there's no stupid questions, I'll ask this one. Anyone know where I can get a windshield for a 1953 Cadillac Eldorado? They made 532 of them & it's a one of a kind fit for that car. The Buick & Olds windshield of the same year WILL NOT fit the Cadillac. Just thought I'd throw this out there. I have a friend who has a '53 Eldo with a cracked windshield and he's not computer literate. Thanks
  4. I know of an unrestored one just like yours in Ohio that the guy was asking 15k - 18k Don't know if it sold.
  5. Try Restoration Specialties & Supply Co. www.restorationspecialties.com (814) 467 - 9842 I bought some short grain top material from these guys for my late 20's sedan and it's pretty close. They have both long grain (Model A Ford) and the short grain you're looking for. They also have a smooth grain listed that I havn't seen. Call them & ask for a sample. I'll give you a hint too. You don't have to buy the glazed cotton padding from them. Go to your local JoAnn Fabrics store & they have the exact same stuff real cheap. When I went, I had a 40% off coupon from the newspaper, so the padding for my car cost about $3.00! Who says CCCA members can't be frugal!

    The Classic Car

The Duesenberg on page 22 is a convertibe sedan. It's just a misprint. It's technically a "Brunn Riviera Phaeton" (fancy wording for convertible sedan) If you look with a magnifying glass, you can read the writing on the license plate.

  14. I have driven both a 1950 Caddy 62 sedan and 61 coupe as everyday cars in the past. One thing I remember is if the engine idle was set too fast, shifting in & out of reverse would become more difficult. Also, while on a modern car one can be going forward a few miles per hour & shift into reverse, you cant do that with these early hydramatics. They simply were not designed for that.
  15. I think there are about 20 or so in existence. I got the ride in a largely original '34 Club Broughm a few years back and it was an experience. With the 2 speed rear axle, it would cruise at 70 effortlessly.
