  1. Nice to see Etta and Chiquita, I mean Southern Belle, getting along so well. I’ve got 85.8 miles to achieve the challenge and will wrap it up tomorrow morning.
  2. @Buicknutty did for sure with his Electra. The question is, after this trip, how many miles can I put on another one. If I were to attend the Heartland Regional, that would be about a 900 mile round trip.
  3. I nearly forgot about it, but managed to spend some time with @SpecialEducation and his family and while I was there @Mudbone came along. It wasn’t the same as years past, and I’m afraid the confusion / last minute nature may have hindered things, but it was good to see those that I did. It was really good to meet some forum members I haven’t previously met and to touch base / catch up with some others. I think 2015 in Springfield was the last time I’d seen Mike Middleton and I’m not sure I’d ever met @NTX5467 and his wealth of knowledge before. It’s been a fun meet. Now it is time for breakfast and prepare to turn Grenouille north.
  4. One thing to keep in mind is that when travelling, many of us don’t have the same setup as at home. We rely on hotel wifi, and speaking for myself, didn’t bring a computer to be able to edit down our camera photos to be able to fit well online. The other issue is that we have been out having fun rather than following everything online. After I get home Monday evening and through the week, I expect to share additional photos, both here and on Facebook. I can’t say how quickly that will be as I don’t know exactly when I’ll get home and we had a dog who had emergency surgery while we were away (he’s recovering fine thus far). I like the idea of say a social media representative. It may work as a voluntary position, but I think it would be more than I’m willing to take on, particularly while attending a National.
  5. At roughly 1320 miles for the year on the Skyhawk, so we should complete the challenge on Monday.
  6. Yay! Just got off the phone with the service station and they have the gas cap. I’m going to attempt to try to not form an opinion on the gal I spoke to the other day. Thus, our route tomorrow is being planned through Strong City, KS to pick it up. Excuse me while I do a little dance of joy....
  7. Awesome! Thanks Matt. I should be able to at least make an appearance. I’ve got a whopping 5 cars to judge, so there’s no excuse for that taking too long.
  8. I don’t seem to have a photo of that...but it kept the rain out Tuesday night. @Jack Welch said he took one.
  9. Good to hear things are better than feared with Rita. It’s a shame you won’t be here. At least Bruce’s temptation is gone with Chiquita not showing up. Makes my issues pale in comparison.
  10. Nope...don’t believe it...perhaps you saw a ghost....😉🤣 Good to see an image of Mr. Middleton on site...now I just need to track him down.
  11. Two forum members in that last one @Buicknutty and @Terry Wiegand. That’s an intriguing colour on the 1958 wagon...not sure I like it, but it definitely stands out.
  12. Saw those...missing those too...thought about it, but it’s a wheel Center that we need to get from Jim.
  13. Those would be the judging classes preceded by (I’m assuming) the number of registrants in that class. There would be an overall layabout...just a question of who has access at hand. Sorry to hear Lamar...it’s already been grand in less than 24 hours. I don’t know what Fr. Buick will do without those cigars you were bringing. Willie just pulled up to the hotel a little while ago. I’ve seen a number of Buick friends from both on and off the forum and enjoyed catching up as well as meeting some new folks. Some money has already been spent in the swap meet and more needs to be (saw something we are short on for a Reatta). Take care of yourselves.
  14. Yup...at least the one we threw wan’t a Buick hub cap. Without downloading an app, I can’t edit photos from the camera as it is presently set enough to them here (just have the iPad this time around). When I get home and transfer them to computer is another story. I want to give Pete the best resolution to work with in case any of theme are Bugle-worthy.
  15. We didn’t get too far on the onion and the steak was requested as medium...as there wasn’t too much, it was fine. We passed on dessert though. With I-29 closures, we elected to head west into Nebraska north of Omaha, then south on 75 to Topeka...after that it gets fuzzy, but we stayed off toll roads, so there was a section of I-35, 50, and a lot of 77 south, connecting with I-35 in Oklahoma, then a straight shot into Midwest City. It was an interesting day, meeting a car guy while stopped for gas in Auburn, NE (he’s working on a 1960 Invicta convertible). I pulled an ID10T in Kansas, forgetting the gas cap...discovered on next fuel fill in Oklahoma...I called the station in Strong City, KS, but they couldn’t locate it. Sigh. We pulled into the venue at about ten to seven, got registered, got booked into the hotel, went for dinner with Buick friends old and new, covered up the gas filler, and had a couple of beers with Buick friends old and new. The previous owner of Lamar’s wagon is here, looking to take it home.... Jefferson Highway yesterday, Lincoln Highway today, Route 66 later this week. Kansas and Oklahoma are now states I’ve visited...I forget exactly, but I think I’ve now been to 29...I can count again after I get home.
  16. 1200 miles added to the odometer of the Skyhawk over the past two days. I don’t mind taking a couple days off from driving.
  17. Now to spend some time on some mapping to verify which way we want to go tomorrow, have a quick shower, and head to bed.
  18. OK, so the morning started late, which helped us to hit a lineup at the border and wait over half an hour there. We rolled in to Sioux City around seven, tried to check into the wrong hotel, then had supper at Outback Steakhouse. Lunch was at a food court and Teresa made a beeline for the Harry Potter Vans. Photos are not necessarily in a particular order.
  19. Manitoban Mayhem is on the move.
  20. Group 11.556 Motor Assembly, Front Seat 1966/460 / -37-67/ -484 / -67/ -490 -4 way / bucket seats 1967/all / -67-87 - 4 way / bucket seats So, 1966 Wildcat coupe and convertible, Electra convertible, Riviera 1967 convertible and coupe I just happened to have a 1958-70 parts book out.
  21. I’m a bit concerned about the time...it might be a bit early for folks involved in judging. Then again, it’s a smaller meet this year, so there shouldn’t be too many Buicks to judge, therefore we ought to be able to get off the field in time 😉
  22. Pete, if you put the loot in the 1932 right away, then we won’t need to remind you...or in your tow vehicle if that will be a safer ride for the glass. This ad and book have been added to “the pile” of papers etc I need to bring.
  23. The data plate on the firewall will say something like GM of Canada on it if it is a Canadian-built car. Easy-peasy.
