  1. Which also means it’s the highest stress day with more people “busy”. It depends whether you want to meet and spend time with folks, or see more of the cars on display. Thursday has a bunch of meetings late day / evening. Friday is the Route 66 driving tour, so (without looking at / verifying the schedule), perhaps Friday afternoon / evening would be a good opportunity to meet folks and perhaps enjoy an adult beverage. It appears no “formal” forum user gathering has been planned for this year...that would have been the time to plan to be there...the most shenanigans of the entire event.
  2. Nice. If you want to get some provenance of the car, consider getting in touch with Vintage Vehicle Services in Oshawa. They have GM of Canada archives and can document how your car left the factory and the dealer it was originally sent to and such. Moving to Winnipeg was the first time owernship of my 1966 Wildcat left Saskatoon.
  3. I enjoyed it too. I actually called Paul tonight to chat as well - he isn’t active here any more so I’d sent him the link via e-mail earlier. It does bring up the topic of having too many toys when you can’t make progress on them in six years...priorities just keep changing too regularly.
  4. I salute you. We’re going somewhere around 1100 miles, planning to do it in two days. As we are driving a relatively modern Buick, much of our trek will be on the major roads and also planning on two days. I’m looking forward to the inexpensive gasoline prices south of the 49th.
  5. It seems to me my 1952 Roadmaster has Dynaflow script on it. Unfortunately I can’t locate any photos at the moment. I will try to remember to take a look when I’m at the country place later this week.
  6. I was looking for other photos to attempt to answer a question posed in another thread and thought it might be fun to relive this almost 6 year old adventure. Those were the days...too many toys, too little time.
  7. Thanks Carl. I’m afraid I haven’t had it on the road. There always seems to be something coming up. I’m giving some thought to looking at this car again after I get back from Oklahoma. We have had some issues with the tubes - the valves are too short for these wheels, so extensions were added, and a couple of them have allowed the tires to leak. That’s the main thing I need to dig into. I may need to look at other tubes to get the longer valve stems.
  8. Neat car. I can appreciate it may have been raining when taking photos, but how hard would it have been to get shots that present the overall interior and engine bay, maybe even trunk. That would give a potential buyer a better idea of the condition overall without having to make contact and start an exchange just to get those ideas.
  9. We had a coupon that would have expired yesterday, so I used it.
  10. I just noticed the chains on the rear tire just now.
  11. LOL...I’d never have gotten to one if I only went to the ones within 5 hours drive. Closest was Rochester, MN - Google Maps says that’s a minimum 8.5 hr drive...we didn’t go entirely on Interstates, so it took a chunk longer. I hope everyone who has a National close by every now and again appreciates it.
  12. Welcome to the forum! In case you weren’t aware, the Buick Club of America National Meet will be in Strongsville, OH in 2020...practically in your back yard. It would be great to see the car there.
  13. I’m interested in seeing the 1916 truck. I saw a blurry photo on Facebook...I’ve never seen one done in two tone red and white before, so I’m curious to get the story on the truck, whether someone painted it their own way, or a “new” truck has sprung up. Thanks for sharing. I’ve had the same issue with daughter and cars....
  14. Looking forward to seeing you again.
  15. Yes, Bryan, it’s the Skyhawk set I’m looking at. Thanks for the offer...I’m still working on logistics. They do look like the wheels to me. Of course, whichever, they would be more correct for my car than Chev hub caps on one side and Cadillac on the other (not sure which Cadillac used 13” wheels though. The seller sent me a couple photos of his car in the garage...it looks the same as the photo Ed posted - silver car with red interior and the roof crown melding and Astroroof.
  16. Thanks Brad...now if I can just find someone from the Twin Cities area who will be passing through to / from Midwest City who would have space to carry them. Even if I had truck and trailer, that would be significantly out of my way, but if someone can get them to Minneapolis region for me, I can work out storage there and get them at my leisure.
  17. Yes, I recognize there weren’t that many to begin with, so it may not be easy to find. I got parts via eBay, but didn’t recognize that I needed more than I’d gotten. At any rate, I figured I’d throw it out there in case someone here happens to know of a parts car or something. I don’t have information to verify, but I was told all ‘59-60 GM wagons had the same hardware...not certain if that was just the window mechanism or including the glass channel.
  18. Damn. I”m guessing I’m about to get poorer. Those wheels would sure beat the incorrect hub caps I have on there now. The unfortunate part is that I won’t be able to get them home on this trip as I won’t have enough space in the Skyhawk for a set of wheels and tires. Now to start working on logistics.
  19. The Skyhawk is presently just shy of 100 miles now after some running around town. The forecast for the next several days is all sunshine, so hopefully I can work in some shakedown miles prior to pointing south for Oklahoma.
  20. Sounds like an Elvis sort of move.... Let’s hope your Elvis recovers quickly.
  21. On Facebook Marketplace a 1958 Century 4 door hardtop recently popped up. I haven’t seen this car before, so it was a bit of a surprise. The dealer name on the trunk is Dickson Motors, which is local, but hasn’t operated under that name in decades. Bank account got drained today for a car for the youngest while away at school, so it won’t be joining my stable unless perhaps the lottery numbers come up for me tonight...I’d then need to deal with space constraints too.
  22. Well, since last October, it could be a weed party in Canada....
  23. I’m happy I wasn’t there. The Roadmaster Sedanette would have been far too tempting for the price it went for...of course, one never knows how far someone else will go to get it. I like the colour, but that’s always a matter of personal preference.
