  1. Whimper...not too terribly far away, but I don't think I can make it work...sigh. I'm sure I'll kick myself for even asking, but any photos?
  2. There was a fairly simple, relatively inexpensive program out there some time ago - I'd have to fire up one of the old computers to verify the name of it. Essentially, it was to track the restoration of a car...I think it allowed some inventory functionality. I remember it being an online download and they sent you a code to activate it.
  3. I believe PPG has a vintage glass group that may have. There's another outfit on the west coast...WA or OR...the name escapes me at the moment - ah - Custom Auto Glass | Hot Rods and Classic Car Windshields. You may even want to try your local auto glass shop - they may have sources, although it is likely to cost. Good luck.
  4. In 1929, the series was based on wheelbase and the model numbers generally correspond to the series. 115" wb - model numbers in the 20s 121" wb - 40s 129" wb - 50s Model 49 was an exception as it was on the 129" wheelbase.
  5. How 'bout you leave some of those for the rest of us Ted? Great car...glad it found a good home.
  6. We're working on it. The car was sold new here in Winnipeg. The building the dealership was in is still around and is still in the automotive business. It's a neat building with a ramp going up so stock could be parked on the roof. We leased a '99 Pontiac Montana from the dealership that was there (although no longer the same dealer as for Charles' car). As soon as I can get over there in daylight (it isn't far, but I'm a working stiff), I'll get some photos for Charles as the building is now. If things keep up, there'll be snow in the photo, which Charles may have to explain to folks down in Texarkana. Charles also has the information to contact the GM of Canada archivist to find out if they have records for the car. It's really a neat colour combination.
  7. I was in there for a bit as a piece of McLaughlin automobilia...also too rich for this character.
  8. Thriller

    Survivor?

The Skylark, with 90% original paint, would likely qualify to be judged in the unrestored class at a BCA meet. The judging there is more about whether the basics are original...wear items can be replaced without penalty. The items that are judged are given a pass / fail mark - some are required.
  9. Thanks for sharing Brian. I'd like to get to Hershey some year, if for no other reason than to experience it and to spend some time with Buick friends that attend regularly.
  10. Bill McLaughlin regularly drives his '29 on the highway (not typically interstates though), so 55-60 is no problem. As the '32 would have the straight 8, I would presume it has the oomph to be able to go a bit faster. Wheels and tires (not to mention brakes) can be a bit of a concern though. Different folks have different comfort levels of what they think the older cars are capable of.
  11. Congratulations on the purchase. I'm hoping someone with the same car will be able to help you out. Do you have a side shot of the car that you could post here? Some may be familiar enough to be able to know whether or not it looks correct for the car. I love sedanettes. The closest I've gotten so far is the '41 tourback sedan.
  12. I'm bringing the photos in to make it easier for folks.
  13. I didn't realize the 4 doors looked so different from the hardtop door panels. Mine is a Custom, so has the upgraded interior with notch back bench seat.
  14. Some deals in that batch to be sure. A couple were of interest, but a bit too far away. As it is, I'm looking at buying a '26 - 20 just to be able to provide parts for folks who need them rather than it being sold for scrap. There's a couple there I'd be all over if the home situation were a bit different. I'm with you on the stock wheels for the Wildcat.
  15. Standard Catalog of Buick lists bucket seats as being available for a '59 (Electra 225 convertible only). It makes no mention of buckets for '57 / '58 (not that it provides a complete list). Of course, there's always the plain Jane buckets in the '62 Special. I don't seem to have a good photo, but could provide one in about 10 minutes if you'd like.
  16. Good luck with the car. I could be interested, but shipping costs would kill me...I need to find one closer to home. It looks pretty nice to me overall - a repaint and the rest seems to me to be pretty small stuff.
  17. I've had decent results with Classic Buick parts, high quality and exceptional value!, but I don't know what '68 Skylark lenses are supposed to look like.
  18. Now there's a fall foliage tour worth taking. Great shots and info.
  19. I enjoy Jeff Dunham, but missed him when he was here a while back. The reason behind that comment is that the local club is a general / all marques club, so the specialized Buick knowledge just isn't there. There are some folks who do know a lot, but it isn't as easy to get an answer as here. Hector - I used to spend a lot of time at V8Buick as well...until I started running shy of time. I really should get back there at some point.
  20. I went for the closest thing to "post whore", although things have been busier lately, so I don't get to every forum daily. I'm not here quite as often as MrEarl, but I think folks are probably just as tired of me.... Long Roof - you got yourself a great car. Welcome aboard, and if you have questions, feel free to ask away. If you happen to need a parts car, I'm trying to offload my '56 Special, although realistically it doesn't work for most folks due to distance / border issues.
  21. Well then, I guess I'm done The one thing that struck me about the article was the age of the posts relative to when I saw it in the Bugle (just a week or two ago). I like that Pete it trying to promote the forums, but the lead time involved in putting the Bugle together means the hot topics are dated. Granted, if someone comes here and has to go through a couple of pages to see the Hot Topic, perhaps they will see more that they like, or figure that it's a pretty active forum. However, some may get frustrated if they can't find what is being referred to, particularly from those who may not be entirely computer literate. This is a valuable resource to me...I've made some Buickful friends here and it is always great to get together or meet at the National or other events. The technical knowledge here is a much better support for me than my local club (fewer Buick owners).
  22. It's very cool to see a car from the '20s as original. That old and original paint implies to me that someone early in its life took very good care of it. Good luck.
