  1. Well, I think Suzanne looks reasonably good anywhere, but I may be biased.... She may need to borrow your chauffeur's hat in Ames as she'll be driving that and if the kids don't behave in the back seat, there's plenty of room in the trunk...probably too much, they'll probably start up a soccer game or something.
  2. Looks nice Sid. Shiny is good. For the top, have you tried Meguiar's Vinyl and Rubber cleaner (I think it is #40)? I've had pretty good results with it, although for anything that is really grungy, multiple passes may be required.
  3. No Bill...that runs on eckeltricity.
  4. Congrats to the Stonebergs. From all I have heard, they are nice cars.
  5. For a moment Paul, I thought you were confused as that would be low.... Let's see.... Kubota - 3 Max - 8 Ruby - 6 29 - 6 26 parts car - 6 41 - 8 52 - 8 54 - 8 56 - 8 61 - 8 62 - 6 66 - 8 75 - 8 76 - 8 Stihl - 1 Jiffy ice auger - 1 Um...I think that's it...want to lend me that abacus? If my math is right, I get to 101. The question is whether or not I forgot anything....
  6. Funny, so are '56 Specials I was going to comment about how it was too shiny to be a real car guy's trailer, but since it is new, I'll let that slide ;)
  7. Attaboy! I knew you wouldn't be able to stay away. I have a Manitoba Chauffeur's pin...of course, it is from 1941. About all you need is the hat...the rest could be improvised. Of course, you'll need to have your polishing towels too.

    JOE BORTZ

Yes, and I know the name, but I can't place why I know the name....
  9. Hmm...as per earlier musings, you should be able to put some sort of light filter material over the back side of the mesh screen (think furnace filter) of the mesh one and perhaps even add some tubing to the snorkel and turn it into a hood scoop.

    '71 GT

I honestly never really expected to spend much time here in the Opel forums...I just don't have any, nor have a lot of extra time. However, in perusing local ads, I came across one. Rare 1971 Buick Opel GT - Winnipeg Collector Cars For Sale - Kijiji Winnipeg Realistically, I can't procure this car myself. Time and space really preclude it. However, if someone wanted me to take a look on their behalf, I could try to make arrangements. It is located outside the city, so may not be able to make immediate arrangements to see it, but I could do my best.
  11. It is a long way from you, and more money than you'd want to spend, but there is a local one for sale. 1974 Buick Century Coupe (2 door) - Winnipeg Collector Cars For Sale - Kijiji Winnipeg Since it is in the city, I could check it out if you wanted...I've almost been wanting to check it out myself.
  12. Not mine. Pre War Buick - Winnipeg Collector Cars For Sale - Kijiji Winnipeg It is located about 55 or so miles from our rural property, or 80 miles from our city place, if someone wants a look. It's a neat looking car, but a huge project that someone would really need to want to do, or need parts (although there is a limited amount of those).
  13. There is an end to it Michael...after you get everything cleaned up. Another approach, which can cause storage or organizational issues, is to take something apart and restore / refurbish the piece(s). This can give you a greater sense of accomplishment and has the advantage of giving you shiny parts to look at. Of course, a down side is getting paint to match if you start painting items. Good luck. At least you are getting somewhere...I've had the '29 in the garage here in the city since September / October 2008 and haven't gotten anywhere beyond vacuuming out the interior, taking some photos, and removing a sidemounted tire (the idea was to bring it into the basement to refurbish over the course of a winter).
  14. The Landau without Lamar skulking around just wouldn't be right....
  15. What, a Century Estate Wagon isn't good enough for you Bob? ;)
  16. I'm driving the truck...Suzanne will be driving the Electra. The '54 will be in the H&H behind Max.
  17. So I can join you on the short bus?
  18. The Super Turbines were an earlier transmission - I thought by '71 Buick was using THMs. The Super Turbines replaced the Dynaflow in the early '60s. My Wildcat has a ST.
  19. Model 4067 or 4167 (Special DeLuxe)? I have a 4067. Steele Rubber has the window channels (bare steel, not chromed) and related weatherstripping.
  20. Does anyone have decode information for the data plate? I'll get most if not all of that from the archivist, but that will take time and I'm not a particularly patient man. I may have missed a photo or two, but that's life.
  21. Here's some more photos of the car from the inside out.
