  1. Happy birthday Peter, Peter Gariepy, formerly known as Bill Pritchett
  2. If you have not posted it yet, do so on the Oldsmobile forum as that is where you would likely get an answer. Also, considering joining the Olds group at http://groups.google.com/group/Olds?hl=en. It is free and has a lot of Olds experts on it.
  3. Ron, They are used by a lot of the MG owners as they are an easy way to tune the dual SU1s on the T series. I had a friend use one for me and they are very convenient.
  4. Rick, I believe you posted this on the wrong topic. Also, if you have not done so, post this on the Buck forum where there will probably be several people who know the answer.
  5. I attended. I went on Sunday and it was not too crowded. I usually go just to get away for an event as this is the first one in the area since fall. You never know what you will find. It is not too large but has a mix of a little of eveything generally. For a real mixture go to Hamburg in March I think. Saturday is usually very crowded. Bill
  6. Just to make things simple from now on I am going to be Peter Gariepy. I have used my name since signing up. Peter, I will see you in Philly and save you a sandwich as usual. Will we have a DF meeting again this year? Bill
  7. Again for what it is worth, Mobil conventional oil, the 5000 mile, 10W30 says it goes back to SG for compatibility with ZDDP. I have used it for years and an sticking with it for now.
  8. Note, that the Mobil 10W30 conventional oil still goes back to SG as of today when I was in Walmart.
  9. It took me an hour and 15 minutes to get into the show. I agree with most of the people that have posted on here. My complaint is that when we left the car show on Saturday the exit route was great which I really liked. However, I did not know where I was going and where the road lead to. I think a sign at the end of the road showing whether to go left or right to the main roads would have helped quite a bit. Never having been in that part of the area I was a little lost but obviously found my way (despite having to drive through Baltimore before I found route 39).
  10. Is there still the usual get together on Saturday for the DFers? If so, when and where. I know it used to be with the cycles. Thanks,
  11. Mobil 10W30 5000 mile (conventional) oil, as of last week at Walmart, still listed it meeting back to SG standards if I remember correctly. Perhaps Mobil is selling to the old car hobby a little. I also investigated Exxon oil and it was up to the SM standard only. Since the oils are both owned by the same company now, I found that interesting. At least, it appears that they are different oils and not the same marketed under different name, at least for now.
  12. Does anyone know of a source/substitute for flexsible duct hose for heating and A/C for a 1961 Olds. It is about 18" long and 4-41/2" in diameter (I forgot when I got when I measured it) and is the conduit for the air to blow out on the driver and passenger. I could possibly use the white flexible plastic tubing for heating that stores like Home Depot sell, but it would really standout. I am certainly open to suggestions as anything would be better than what I havw which is literally falling apart.
  13. I don't see what the big deal is. Just put Pep Boy radials on it and enter it in the DPC class.
  14. When not ruling the planet (or at least the small portion my wife lets me rule), I am an Information Technology Auditor performing testing for the Sarbanes Oxley (SOX) Act (also a CPA). SOX was passed to protect investors after the debacle of Enron and Worldcom and requires internal controls to be reviewed. Prior to that I was at AT&T for 27 years and held a few other jobs including one that most of you have not done - car hop at the Burger Ranch where I grew up ($.50/hour plus tips). Funny thing after working there for a summer I was able to pay for 20 years of college and purchase all the antique cars I wanter (don't I wish).

  18. Hi Wayne, I do not know what you are complaining about. For my 61 Olds, I have put one of those new fangled carburetors that will get me three hundred MPG and I am also adding a miracle pill I got from my friend in Nigeria that will increase my gas mileage about 75%. With all the modern miracles we have today the future probably will not have anything like the miracles of today. I only will be on the this forum for the next two or three minutes as I won a lottery in Antartica and now I must send the money for the taxes that are due. While I am doing that, I will also send the extra money back to my other friend in Nigeria who sent me a very large check for my copy of Newsweek from two weeks ago. You have no idea how hard it is to get there and he was very generous in the amount he sent me. Oops, I forgot I have to log into my bank account now to update my personal information as I just received an email from my bank who must have outsourced the security to a firm in Latvia. However, as long as it saves the bank money that is good for me. I think we have it very good at present with all the good things I described above. Got to go as my wife is saying something about me being on the computer 15 hours a day and not talking with her enough. I cut its usage back from 17 hours a day, what else does she want.

  21. I just purchased Mobil 10W30, the 5000, that I normally use. It is still rated SH and SJ backward still so I guess there is some hope yet. How long they will keep it I do not know. However, I plan on using it until they change.
  22. I have a 1961 98 and will try to get a picture in the next few days if that will help. I can be reached at olds61@hotmail.com if you have any questions.
  23. My understanding is that Shell Rotella is now formualted to meet the new standard and does not have the ZDDP it had a few weeks ago. Guess we will have to use another oil.
  24. Yes, that is a good point. I will have to see what Peter will be serving when I am staying there.
