I have question I hope I can get help with: storage of cars. I have 3 collector cars stored in open shed, how to keep mice and other rodents out of them so they dont chew the wiring or upholstery or the convertible top; or nest in the exhaust pipes? for example, would mothballs deter them? any help appreciated thankyou Jerry Whitfield winston salem NC

1911 Mercer, Type 35, race about sports car replica: it is an all steel replica built many years ago by a very skilled craftsman. This car will start anytime even after its been sitting and with good brakes is very dependable. It is the ultimate fun driver and parade car. It is full size exact replica of a 1911 Mercer Race about equipped with a 1953 Chevy truck 235" 6 cylinder engine and rests a 1940 chevy truck frame, manual transmission, and rear end. Gear ratio has not been changed in the rear end. Rear end has new bearings. Mileage unknown on the engine but it performs well. 200 miles on new tires. This car handles and performs very well and draws tremendous attention when driven. History of the Mercer: Mercer was an American automobile manufacturer from 1909 until 1925. It was notable for its high-performance cars, especially the Type 35 Race about. The result was one of the most admired sports cars of the decade; the 1910 Type-35R Race about, a stripped-down, two-seat speedster, designed to be "safely and consistently" driven at over 70 mph (110 km/h) (it was capable of over 90 mph (140 km/h). The Race about's inline 4-cylinder T-head engine displaced 293 cubic inches (4,800 cc) and developed 55 horsepower (41 kW) at 1,650 revolutions per minute. It won five of the six 1911 races it was entered in, losing only the first Indianapolis 500. Hundreds of racing victories followed. The Race about became one of the premier racing thoroughbreds of the era- highly coveted for its quality construction and exceptional handling.

1948 Packard 8 deluxe, color is Egyptian Sand, model 2262, serial # 226229972, lovingly cared for and remarkably well preserved luxury motor car! It has lovely beige/tan exterior, 288 cubic inch inline 8 cylinder engine, manual transmission, 120 inch wheelbase, and remarkably low mileage, 17890 miles since new. It drives and rides and handles as new. This exceptionally low mileage car is nicely equipped with options: front and rear handsome bumper guards, fender skirts, radio, clock, and backup light. The original jack is in its unopened box in the trunk, original spare tire, owners manual, other papers, and a thick service manual. This handsome car is equipped with wide whitewall 760 X 15 bias ply tires. Paint, upholstery, headliner, and instrument panel are in excellent condition. Very minor blemishes: narrow two inch long chip in paint on edge of hood drivers side, at bottom of passenger side door the stainless molding has been scraped, pictures of these 2 included; also a hairline scrape 6 inches long at bottom of rear door on passenger side; and a couple minor scratches on front of hood below the hood ornament, no pictures included because I doubt it they would show up in a picture. Equipped with 389 cid V8 with 270 bhp, 4 barrel carb.(I have not tried to crank the engine), automatic transmission, power steering, power brakes, Pontiac deluxe radio, clock, power top. Car has straight bumpers. Last inspection sticker 1974. Last oil change 6/6/73 at 83817 miles. Mileage on odometer is 89368. This car is a rare survivor. Small rust spots in drivers floor pan, none in other 3 sections of floor pans. Typical GM rust around hood edges, bottoms of doors and bottoms of rear quarter panels. Several tiny rust spots in trunk floor.
