  1. Hi all and thanks in advance for any light you might shed! I have a 1985 Plymouth Gran Fury Salon with only 42,000 miles on it. (!) I'm the second owner. The first was the little old man I bought it from. They used his wife's car for everyday errands. The Gran Fury was their "Sunday Car," and only driven (slowly—he was 75 when it was new!) around town. It had only 24,000 miles on it when I purchased it. It was garage kept till I bought it in 2005. Driveway since. It remains a strictly "around town" car, no hard driving. We bought it to keep at my mother's home to use when my sisters and I visit. Everything is original except the muffler, tires, alternator and shocks. I'd say it's in good but not mint condition. Mechanically she's very sound and reliably runs like a champ. But cosmetically, the clear coat has started to peel and the headliner sags. Still, the level of interest in this car has been truly unbelievable. I'm often approached in parking lots with offers to buy and notes are frequently left under the windshield wiper. I've been told it has much to do with, A.) This being the fleet vehicle of choice for police departments in the 1980's, or, B.) It being fondly remembered as a favorite car by former owners. Recently our needs have changed and we've sadly concluded we now require a different sort of vehicle on hand. However we've grown enormously fond of her and wish to pass her on to someone who will really appreciate and care for this special old girl. So my question is, what is the best way to have her true and fair current value assessed, and where/how would one best make known her availability to the kind of collector we'd like to pass her on to? Thanks again for any and all help!

  7. I have recently purchased a 1985 Riviera convertible and the dash is digital and does not show anything, no fuel, no speedometer, nothing. It blows a fuse as soon as you turn the key on. I need to take the digital dash out so I can unplug it as part of my trouble shooting. How do I get it apart. I don't want to break anything. Thanks.
  8. Hi, Yesterday morning, I came across a 1985 Buick Lesabre Limited Collector's Edition. This surprised me, because I had never heard of this version of the Lesabre. I've been searching the web for info about the Collector's Edition, but haven't come up with any details. All I could find was that it was issued to commemorate the end of the RWD Lesabre coupes and sedans. I'm hoping someone can provide some details about this Lesabre. What differentiated the Collector's Edition from other Lesabres? Was it merely cosmetic or were there performance enhancements? How many were produced? Is there a unique code in the VIN that IDs the Collector's Edtion? I appreciate any help you can give me. Thank you!
