  1. No help on the generator. For the compressor go to Ingersol-Rand T-30, 3 or 5 hp, they are bullet-proof, made the same for years.
  2. That's a good question John. I had the displeasure of finding out what happens when the 2 are mixed, no brakes at all!! There was a jell in the master cylinder in a shop truck. Someone finally admitted mixing fluids.
  3. Have either of you contacted Roy Brister? He may want this stuff. It's a shame DB's are so dependable that no one needs mechanical parts very often.
  4. Tony, a few years ago I found a NOS one at Carlisle for $200 for my neighbor's '17. I wonder if they could be repro-ed in resin? I'm told they are the same as 8 cylinder Cadillacs with dual distributors. is that true?
  5. Peter, it looks like you drove the tail lights off it, too. I wonder why the car that means the most to us and we keep the longest gets the least attention. I haven't figured out where my split will go when I no longer need it, all I know is it won't be in my lifetime.
  6. Steve, you left out the part about the Pinto. I knew you had the convertible '54, but didn't realise you had a '50 also.
  7. Mr Earl, good question. I've owned my '52 Beetle since '77, it was last driven in '66. It was the first split I ever saw and I will never sell it. I hope to have new paint on it later this summer and be able to drive it again. I've had the '24 Dodge Bros. about 3 years, the '68 Electra about 2.
  8. Oops, the bidding has ended. Sure hope the buyer knew he wasn't really buying a brake bleeder for a Model A, most have been a prototype!!!
  9. If it's no good just split it and take it off. If it is good use good penetranting oil and lots of heat.
  10. Go to item no. 6533808033 for a good laugh. Someone will have to explain it to Bigrig.
  11. If "it leaks everywhere", why not just clean off the engine with something like GUNK and start it up and find out exactly where and fix it with new gaskets or seals?
  12. If just the carbon button is bad, it can be replaced. Either have a new button made or use a spent .22 shell, think it has to be a short, fits right on the spring.
  13. Jolly John, are you sure they are Acme? Acme threads are not pointed at top and bottom, they have flats, and are used for very strong threads like a bench vise. Can you show a picture or measurements with a micrometer?
  14. Thanks Mika, good choice in tow vehicle. Do you think fenders available in Finland?Or will you have to ship from US?
  15. Here on the right coast the weather was perfect this weekend. Did anyone actually drive their antique car , truck, or motorcycle this weekend? I drove one friday night to go out to eat, then went bird watching. Saturday I drove the same car to a great car show, then switched to a differant one to go to a cruise-in. Both cars had AACA applications on the windshield for anyone to take as I always do. Just got back from getting bugs in my teeth on the motorcycle.
  16. Mika, what a find! Please post pics down on the Dodge Brothers forum. I've seen bodies of old trucks cut and made into crew cabs but never a factory built one. Did it have a back seat or just storage area?
  17. HVS, I'm sorry I couldn't respond sooner to your post, but I've been busy watching the Goodguys tearing up the neighbor's parking lot. They must have trouble with clutches in those old cars because there's black tire marks everywhere! But from what I'm hearing those Guys left enough $$ behind to repave the parking lot and then some.
  18. Take a look at the June '05 issue of Vintage Truck. There's good article about a DB screenside, national AACA senior winner.
  19. BillP, reread the original question! It asks where can he get technical info on what he wants to do. Nowhere does it ask for an opinion or permission to do it. It even says he owns the car in question. If he had ask for info on restoring his Plymouth I would have told him to stick around here, Lord knows we have plenty of EXPERTS.
  20. This could get ugly!! 41rat, try the Jalopy Journal site, think it's www., forum is called the HAMB. There's a lot of like minded people there with lots of good info. Read the "new guy intro" thing at the top or it will get real ugly there, too.
  21. Doesn't the sign in front of the Pontiac say "reserved for fast Eddie"? It kind of looks like where Eddie works, ahhhhh plays.
  22. HVS, I'm just a young pup. Back in the day, driving aircooled Vdubs we just carried a windshield scraper for the inside.
  23. Just bought some old car stuff yesterday. In the pile there are a few pieces of rectangular glass about 9X18 with 4 suction cups and a metal edge around the parimeter. They have 4 pieces of ni-chrome wire across the glass and a place to hook up a 2 prong wire plug. Are these old window defrosters?? Thanks
