DBC dinner at Hershey
nearchoclatetown replied to nearchoclatetown's topic in Dodge & Dodge Brothers
It's going to cost you 2 .39 stamps to have your dinner tickets in hand. Don't wait for Hershey, with the new field layout and no maps you might not find me. -
Rick, do you know if the DVD of pictures from the dinner will available for sale?

What is wrong with your DB? -

His price seems reasonable. Instead he chose the ratrod/streetrod search words.

Rule of thumb is, if the horn button is on the door it's negative ground. On the steering wheel it's positive, factory locations. Sounds like you have a charging problem. The only electric that should be used to "drive around the block" is for the ignition, not much. You have a drain somewhere.

I have 120 dinner tickets for the Friday night DBC club meeting at Hershey. I'm hoping to be sold out by Macungie, so don't wait. PM me for an address to send SASE and $$. The tickets are $14 for adults, $7 for under 12s, .50 extra for rubber chickens.

Are you sure the heater core isn't leaking? Does it taste sweet?

Looks like early Chevy II and Corvair to me.

1923 Dodge Starter Generator(s)
nearchoclatetown replied to MarkSchwartzkopf's topic in Automobiles and Parts - Buy/Sell
What is it you want to know about them? If I remember right, they should spin at about 350 RPMs when powered by a battery. But that won't tell you if they charge. -
As I had a phone call from a new AACA member about it, I had to ask. Curious minds want to know, things like that stick out. Just like the misspeeled word anounceing the speeling "been" winner in the school newsletter last week.

Steve, I know Hershey is the center of the Universe for old car stuff, but how come the ad for the auction in Allentown doesn't say what state it's in?

The body number does not help much. Most date of manuf. charts are listed by serial number. With that we may be able to help you.

I think I've heard there are about 300-400 DBC members in Australia and New Zealand. With that many cars using the Imperial measurement maybe one of the vendors would produce some faces.

Frank

Is anyone SURE the '27 gets a white face gas guage? Or does it get one like the '24, which Tom Myers already sells a perfect copy of for the US crowd. My neighbor has a '27 with white faced dash guages, but no face at all on the gas guage. I would be interested in one for him if anyone is making them. thanks.

Rodger, would the fuel guage face be white like the dash guages of a '27?
-
John, has anyone from the DBC checked into becoming a region of the AACA? It would mean all DBC members would have to also be AACA members, but it might solve some other issues as well.

wanted car cooler that look like a big bullet
nearchoclatetown replied to a topic in Automobiles and Parts - Buy/Sell
The aircooled VW guys usually scoop them up. The ones on the aircooled sites are usually in the $250 range. -
G is green field{ Giant center}, O is orange field { golf course} if that helps.

New AACA Magazine in the mail!

He didn't have to, he gets the mag for free. -

I just ventured down among the other forums, chose 2 at random. On 6-17-05 Peter G. ask if he should suspend the Durant forum. There wasn't even an answer until 11-3-05. How many of you saw the 1912 Maxwell for sale on the Maxwell forum? It would have served the seller much better had it been listed on the AACA section, had many more views. The splinter forums serve a good purpose if there's activity. I think the small groups would be served much better if they stuck to the AACA general froum. Who knows, we may all learn something?

I'm not to sure your statement about not costing anything is correct. Maybe the admistrator will answer that. But couldn't "Electric car" or "VW" or "anyothersmallgroup" be added to the title of the post in the AACA general section. This is after all the AACA site. Yes, there is interest in ALL cars, but with so many subtitles things get lost. Maybe the discussion is about an electric car, but would be of interest to someone else with a car of the same era. You may see more discussion if it was in the regular section.
