  1. Rear bumper and quarter extensions installed...and a fresh tank of 93!
  2. Front bumper and headlight bezels installed!
  3. Thanks, Ted! You going to Allentown? The remainder of the rubber went in this afternoon, as well as the rest of the interior. Next on the list is to paint the headlight doors, grille trim, and quarter extensions so I can mount the bumpers. I have a guy lined up to do the vinyl top as soon as I can drive it over there. It will probably wait until I get the hood and trunk painted and installed, though.
  4. Mike, what route are you taking? I am launching Tuesday headed East sans caravan. Would love to meet up and ride your bumper.
  5. This color really likes the sun
  6. I finished the final buff this morning and started to install trim. I am having the headliner finished on Tuesday, so should be able to get the interior buttoned up after that. Even with the "good" window fuzzies, I had to do some drilling and massaging of a couple of the pieces to make them fit right. Steele sent the wrong door rubber. They sent a set for a post car. According to their website, this is correct for a "coupe." Isn't a coupe the same as a hardtop?? So technically it was my screwup because I ordered a set for a coupe. I'll be having a chat with them Monday.
  7. First round of buffing is complete on the drivers side. I still have to hit the entire passenger side again with this. I always forget that dark colors show EVERYTHING.
  8. First course of sanding done. Headliner install halted when we found out one of the plastic rod clips was missing. Hopefully tomorrow I can finish sanding and buff this side. I still have to go back over the other side and hit the spots I missed.
  9. Finally got some sun on that paint...love this color!
  10. Biting off one panel at a time
  11. Couldn't resist finishing the fender and hanging some trim
  12. Weather is cool but humid this weekend...all rain. Wife-to-be is having her bachelorette party this weekend, so I am home alone
  13. Color! Hood and trunk lid are next.
  14. Any of you coming through St. Louis? I'm looking for a caravan.
  15. Fenders mounted and guide coat on...Paint maybe next weekend
  16. So the body shell and fenders are now ready for the last coat of primer before paint. I still have to strip the trunk lid and body work it. The hood is...going to be a pain in the rear. Basically the entire hood will be covered in a light coat of filler due to the warpage. Hopefully I can make it look halfway decent. If not, then I guess I'll be using the Skylark hood, or finding another GS hood. That would mean I have to spend more money, though. The drivers side quarter was ugly. That was the side with 3 gallons of filler in it. Turns out that it didn't need all that filler. The previous body guy decided to take all of the contour out of the top of the quarter and just trowel it smooth. I know it won't be perfect, but it is going to bug me when I see it with that glossy clear coat. Oh well.
  17. The temp gauge will unscrew from the back of the instrument cluster allowing you to remove the cluster without pulling the entire temp gauge line out.
  18. So do I, Ted! There has been zero progress since the last update. Except I have a huge pile of new parts sitting downstairs from the last couple weeks of shopping online.
  19. You bet, Ken. I am still doing stainless. I haven't updated the site much lately, but keep the Facebook page live with progress on projects.
  20. CARS has them in their catalog for $275 part number DS-556R
  21. Correct, the vacuum fitting is the only thing holding the piston in when the cover is removed.
  22. Moving along. I may have to stop work on this for a week or 2 and get caught up on a stainless project I promised for mid June.
  23. Oh? Will you need a bigger garage?
