  1. Does it have AC? If so, how is the dash pad? How about the lower trunk lip bar?
  2. Still here, guys. Things have been interesting for me in the last 6 months. We have hit the busy season in the irrigation industry, and I am working 12-14 hours a day OUTSIDE. The last thing I want to be doing right now, is going home and working in the garage for any length of time. And, of course, it's already 100 degrees out there....hopefully, that won't hold all Summer. My next step is to get it drivable...so I can drive it off the trailer, and onto the show field for the Heartland Regional in September. If I can get any further than that on the project, I will be ahead. Yes, funding is an issue, and it has been since the start of the project. I've managed to keep the spending at a minimum so far...and I think I can stay in the green when I finish it. The only way to fund this thing, is to do side projects like stainless restoration and other things like restoring star wars air cleaners and selling on ebay I just finished painting a tailgate for a local landscape contractor...turned out really nice, so he wants me to do all of the body work on his trucks this Winter. I sense a big change in my career in the next year.

    58 Special

I buy them from Rural King or Tractor Supply. 3EEE I believe is the size.
  5. No updates lately. Too busy working and sleeping:( The next few weeks may see some progress, as my significant other is overseas visiting her family for a month.
  6. Is there any stainless trim on the lip of the trunk lid?
  7. Pictures are here: 1965 Buick LeSabre OBO
  8. I usually start using a sisal wheel with emery compound after 800 grit. I got tired of using 6 different grades of paper (all the way up to 2000) and did some experimenting...found out that the sisal wheel with emery compound will buff out the 800.
  9. I'm just sayin'....don't think you can get the project done in an afternoon:eek:
  10. That is a real ugly job to remove the gauge cluster.
  11. Very sorry for the loss of your friend, Mike. As tempting as it is to run down to TX and turn wrenches, I'm pretty locked down here for a while. Ask me again in a year...seriously. BTW, have you seen Antique Automotive Service ?
  12. Kick down switch...all th400 equipped cars had them
  13. Well, it appears that Spring has come early this year, and I am already slammed at work. I have also reignited my love for playing the trumpet. I've started playing in a jazz combo at the local university and am also playing in an event band, or jazz orchestra that plays weddings and corporate events. It's interesting, since I feel like I am playing better now than when I was in school for it. I've also managed to keep busy with stainless trim polishing for others' Buicks. Back to the 58... Half of the roof is buffed...I always forget how much fun it is to color sand and buff:rolleyes: I would've finished the driver's side today, but I have a friend's birthday party to attend.

    Home at last

Nice! Turned out stunning, Sid. Glad to help out
  15. Sid, do you know if they received the last package of trim I sent back out to them? It was sent a couple weeks ago...I'm sure it got there, but I wanted to make sure. Looks good! Can't wait to see it clean
  16. It doesn't seem like I really get the most out of ebay anymore. The last several parts I've sold on there have been going for dirt cheap... I think it has a lot to do with the fact that it takes a master's degree to know how to search for the right stuff on there now. I get so tired of all the crap that I have to wade through when I search for year and model specific parts.
  17. Couple hours left, boys and girls!
  18. With the 55 fuzzies I did here, they had to be bent as well. I started at one end and riveted it one at a time, and as I went along, I bent the fuzzies. They are made to do this...there is some flexibility built into them.
