  2. What a rare treasure! Only 2,000 of these cars were ever produced! This is a mid-year car. In 1962 the Wildcat was a Buick Invicta subseries, mating the Invicta's longer full-size two-door hardtop Buick body (known as the "sport coupe," body production code 4647) with a high-performance 325 hp (242 kW) version of the 401 cu in (7 l) Nailhead V8, known as the Wildcat 445 for producing 445 of torque. To further distance itself from the Invicta, the Wildcat had Electra 225-like taillights, a bucket seat interior, a center console with tachometer and transmission shifter. It had the famous Dynaflow transmission shared by all full-size Buicks, plus special exterior side trim, vinyl-covered roof (new for 1962), and its own unique emblem: a stylized head of a wild cat, located on each of the C-pillars. However, the Wildcat did share the LeSabre's and Invicta's trio of VentiPorts on the front fenders, a design cue lasting only through the 1963 model year. The car is straight with only two small exterior rust spots. The interior is in great condition with one place in the carpet that is imperfect. It runs well. It has all the original hub caps and emblems. The gas gauge does not work. Asking $9,800 Please email me at SRL7698@hotmail.com for additional pictures.

  5. I am not a car guy. My grandfather purchased this 1964 4 door, hard top, diplomat blue, Wildcat. I inherited it many years ago and enjoyed it for a while. It has about 70k miles on it. However, I had to garage it about 5 years ago being newly married, young kids and all that goes with it. I hate leaving it there and know that its not good for the car. So I'm looking to sell it. A local classic car guy said he'd give me 1k for it. I've done some research online regarding value, but I'd love to get feedback from Buick experts as to how I should go about selling this car. Any advice is much appreciated.

  12. 1969 Buick Wildcat Hardtop: The original owner owned his car from 1969 to August of 2011. During the 1980’s, the car was put into dry storage where it remained until I bought it last year. It has 57,000 miles, no rust and drives like a dream. It has been checked from front to back and has new front brakes, battery and master cylinder. It has power steering, power brakes, air conditioning and an aftermarket AM/FM/Cassette radio. The AC needs to be recharged. The engine has new wires, plugs, cap, rotor and a Pertronix Electronic ignition (the old point set up is included). The oil and filter has been changed twice to insure the engine is clean. The fuel system was cleaned and a new air filter installed. The engine is the original 430 CI, 360 HP with 475 lbs of torque at 3200 rpm. The green paint, black interior and vinyl top are all-original according to the owner and are in excellent condition. The paint is smooth and looks great . I doubt you will find another original car from 1969 as good as this one. The paint shine is glass smooth. The vinyl top looks like it was new. The interior is in outstanding condition. The vinyl on the driver seat cushion is starting to dry out a little bit. The car starts on the first hit, does not smoke or hesitate and shifts smoothly. The body is rust free. The trunk had a few rust spots, which I had professionally repaired. We could not find any other rust bubbles or rot. I have pictures of the underside. Floors are solid. Sold as-is, no warranty. CT is a non-title state for cars before 1981. Sold on a CT bill of sale. Trade of model years 1930-1970 cars considered. Trade vehicle must be complete. No rust buckets. Barnfinds are OK. Reply by Email or call 860-658-4646. Car is located in Simsbury, CT. I will post pictures soon.

  21. I tried getting at least $3000 on Ebay but it didn't go so I thought I'd offer it up here in case someone didn't see it there. I'll take $2500, but that's about as low as I will go. The engine alone should be worth at least close to that with such low miles (although the car is so nice overall it would almost be a crime to part it). I hope a fellow Buick lover can buy and appreciate this car. 1963 Buick LeSabre with 37,968 original miles. This car has been in the family since 1981. My mother drove it when I was a kid for about a year and a half and then it was parked in the garage for many years. One time during that short time she drove it, it was sitting in the driveway and got snowed on one day when my sister decided to be helpful and clean the car off. The only problem was that she used a snow shovel, and that is how the paint got scraped off of parts of it in many places. After many years sitting in the garage my father got the car running again, only to park it in a barn right afterward; this was about 10 years ago or so. I got the car out last year and got it running and driving once again. I did a lot of work to the car because I wanted to keep it, but I need the space badly. Mechanical: I have not cleaned up the engine compartment since getting the car out of the barn. The engine still wears its original paint and the air cleaner has the original silk-screened decals. This car has only been driven about 20 miles since being removed from the barn. I drove it 5 miles within the last few weeks It will definitely need exhaust as it's really loud, but nothing is hanging down underneath. I noticed the fuel gauge isn't working, although it was last year. Besides that, it shouldn't need much mechanically as almost everything has been done. Since summer 2009 the car has had the carburetor rebuilt, starter rebuilt, new belts, radiator hoses, water pump, antifreeze flush and fill, battery, oil & filter change, new brake master cylinder, wheel cylinders, most brake lines, fuel pump & filter, ignition wires, Pertronix electronic ignition installed to replace the old points/condenser (I have the points/condenser in the glovebox if you want to change it back - the distributor was not modified). The engine runs strong and the car stops like new. Body: This car has only surface rust except for two small areas that I could find - the lower front fender on the driver side, and there was some touch up work decades ago on by the back of the rear driver door. The rest of the car is the original paint I believe; I could find no other signs of repaint anyplace. Last year I saw the car on a lift, and the underside looked very solid with only surface rust; most of the underside was undercoated so it was well protected. There are only a couple of small dings and the body is otherwise very straight. Most of the chrome is very nice with little to no pitting. The headlight bezels have more pitting for some reason, but these are easy to come by in nice condition. All glass is good. The trunk is solid and in great shape with all original padding and the jack is like new. Interior: The interior is very nicely preserved overall. There is a stained area on the front seat fabric that could probably be cleaned out. The carpet is worn a bit under the front mat. There is a small crack in the front of the dash pad. The ashtray in front doesn't stay up in the dash by itself and hangs open, and the wiper knob is missing ($14 for NOS at BuickFarm.com). Otherwise, it looks pretty nice from what I could tell and could just use a bit of cleaning. Car is in NW Indiana If interested Email lancemb48@hotmail.com or call 586-260-8993

  23. We are moving a '67 Wildcat and a '67 Electra to Northern Virginia. Any recommendations for a thorough mechanic in that area? Someone who knows what a carburetor and a 430 engine is is my primary concern. Thanks.
  24. I have set of Buick Aluminum drums and I am trying to identify them. They have steel weights on the outside face and are in good shape. I have a old parts interchange but they are not listed there. I think they are early ones, but I am not sure. The fifth diget could be 6 also, to read 1196637 but I am pretty sure it says 1196837. Any help will be appreciated Sincerely, John jes79@juno.com
