  1. Yes, too bad that ebay cannot clean some ads up. I click the vintage car part section but even then not a large percentage of parts for the marque that one is looking for. All new stuff or an auburn fender from 1929 that also fits hudson, buick, stutz, pierce, moon, minerva or white truck. amazing keith123451@live.com auburn, moon etc
  2. Hello, very very nice. there is one for sale here on mercadolibre.com for 20,000,000 pesos or about 10,000 usd with 12 cyl also. I am into the 20 era cars but will take a look at it. If it does not have antique car tags then it can be exported. keith keith123451@live.com 22,26 auburn moon and auburn stuff

    Pickers

Yes, that was great that they did not accept that 7 mil for the Rolls Royce. Plus they knew what they had via the referrence to old car trader or whatever magazine it was. In addition they had transported the car back from Europe. A good offer would have been 16,000 to 28,000 usd but i know little about the value of a Rolls of that era.

    Pickers

Despite years in the old car hobby looking for parts to buy to trade, keep, resale to help project costs or put on projects never heard the expression Pickers until this show. I am able to download in on vuze.com here. I also saw the show concerning the arrow sign with the lights etc and i thought the same in terms of few chances to resale for their investment. I would say the majority of us have been pickers for years but more for the fun of the find than an immediate thought for what we could resale for etc. I understand that whether pawn starts or pickers no one would want to pay retail or antique shop prices but also never take advantage in terms of pre knowing the item might be worth triple or four times the asking price. It is an interesting show ie pickers etc but doubt it could be a real profession unless there was a strong backer or deep personal financial pockets. We all know that some individuals who have large collections in barns very well know value on most of the items thus parts etc are over valued or fairly prices if they want to move the item based upon their original purchase price. a rare rickenbacker part, brass era part or independent make part does not often make it the most valuable thing around just because it is rare. fun show to watch but i think that if i were one of the guys who they might visit one day i should would feel silly seeing myself on tv later with a group stating that they had made triple on something i had sold. i have been taken advantage of times when young on parts and even had items stolen but never burned another in a deal. often on some projects sold in the past i was looking for more to move the item ie a 24 cad project or templar etc in order to get my costs back to make room for another project. 6. Hello, Comparable for me also when my dad took me to Hershey in the late 60s. Plus the weekends chasing car leads that my dad would learn about, going through barns, dad´s friendship with atk miller started a love for all stutz and hcs, finding first antique car project 1922 auburn beauty six in 1970 next to barn on new hampshire border, picking up 1941 packard henny ambulance for 5 dollars, 34 packard coupe with blown engine, 29 packard roadster body with golf door, 1910 odd make wooden touring body, 1924 studebaker special six in barn and purchased, brass era parts, flea markets, 1919 indian complete,t models, stutz parts, frames, parts, auburn, pierce parts etc etc parts, perfect rickenbacker tail light, going to an old junk yard a week late after crushing to feel sad and see what great twenty, thirty era cars were crushed etc. purchase of barn full of teen and 20 era harley parts, found the same 1922 auburn after 28 year search, the old timers of the 60s and 70s who knew the independent makes etc. a great hobby and the experience of a life time. 7. i have not insured an old car in awhile since working outside the us but if i remember right i believe i used state farm around the year 2000 to tag on to other policies with modern cars for a 1923 templar that i had and drove. it was also unrestored. reference the Tomahawk, very nice. great hobby. my career has been in aviation. kmstrade keith sparks 22 auburn 23 moon 26 auburn 27-31 auburn parts
  8. thanks, the LASALLES were sold some years ago. thanks keith keith123451@live.com
  9. Hello, i had a 24 Cad 7 pax suburban project in the 90s that i sold to finance a hcs at the time. they are great cars and the interior of this one still had the curtains etc. i see the coupes etc for sale at times but always over priced in the 40 k range thus rarely sold. the v63 was radically for the newer style engine etc and believe the series ran for 1924 abd 1925. i would think any where in the 15 k to 22 k and you should be safe. they are not as desirable as some other marques of the same era but i still feel they had nice lines. i may still have a box of valves, engine stuff some where in the states for free if i ever confirm some time. keith keith123451@live.com

  13. Hello David, its keith sparks from roanoke but still working down in colombia for the last many years. i hope all is well. projects, cars are in the states in storage and at friends places. i agree...........many years ago i used my 16 foot car hauler to move a 31 lasalle parts car from stanton to roanoke. i was so anxious to get back to roanoke that is a miracle that i got it home on 81. the wheel base of the expedition or how i loaded the lasalle was not worth the stress on 81. i was probably average 40 mph by the time i got home. keith123451@live.com
  14. thanks, i enjoyed reading the threads and best of luck with the packard and whoever may have ended up with the pierce. i have different projects with the priority being a 1922 auburn beauty six, i only wish it was so complete. 19. I am actually a sorry one to talk since i let my overseas status be the excuse to drop membership in recent years. I used to look forward to the aaca mag and the stuz news on a regular basis. Thus i will renew my membership and send the magazine to a friends house in vt so i have right to speak. I have hundreds of the mag dating back to the late 40s. There was nothing better than to go to the garage, make a fire in the woodstove, kick your feet up on an previously aborted hcs frame with westinghouse shocks and read and read and read. 20. Layden hit the nail on the head. A sad commentary on the state of affairs and sad that we have these buzzard flying around our hobby. keith sparks 22 auburn 26 auburn 23 moon etc etc.
  21. AACA will always be the corner stone of the hobby and as less 20 and 30 era projects are available then we have to accept that the vision of those younger will be to want read about a 1973 transam versus a 1923 moon. Those who love cars love them all if they are a quality make or bring back memories of childhood or high school years. I dropped my aaca member ship in recent years only because it was to difficult to receive my copies of the mag here in south america where i have lived and worked for years. I live to get back to my projects in the states and eventually retire around them and future ones. i had to do a double take the other day at a car show in Bogota when i saw a 1985 cadillac in the line up with crown victoria and others BUT we all regret or those of us that love pre 1935 era not picking up a muscle car or m. car projects when they were a dime a dozen in the 70s and early 80s. The hobby adjusts for new generations and the majority of younger folks have the same respect for our 20 era cars as we are learning to have for 25 year old cars. It may not be our taste for those of us as kids going to Hershey in the 60s but it keeps us all young. keith sparks 22 auburn 26 auburn 23 moon etc etc.
  22. Thanks, that is like the old days of the sat and sunday drives to track down a pierce, stutz, auburn lead that normally meant a t model when actually tracked down. it would be nice to secure if your contact would be reasonable. sad to see exposed to the elements much longer. sparks.keith@gmail.com 22 auburn 26 auburn 23 moon, etc etc
