Floor "timbers" for our Twin Six. Summer 2004
  2. Hi, After having my crank ground locally, I had Paul's Rod And Bearing in Missouri re-babbit the rod and main inserts on our Packard Twin Six. The mains were semi-finished and a local shop did the line boring and installed the crank. The rod bearings are to a finished dimension. Let me know, and I can dig out the address for Paul's and also get the costs. Here's my e-mail address: gnbboudway@msn.com Good luck, Bill Boudway
  3. What's the fix for scored brake drums, other than turning tham down. We're talking about 16 1/2" OD X 4 1/2" deep. Is there a welding process that is safe and durable? Thanks for your thoughts, Bill Boudway

  7. Hi Nearchoclatetown, Thanks for your reply and offer. I only need about a quart. It's the color for early (pre 1923) Packard engine paint. I got a chip from Hirsch, but it was too dark. Probably for later Packards. Regards, Bill Boudway
  8. Hi, This looks familiar. Is it the one a short distance northwest of Utica? We took an excursion train ride this fall that passed by a junkyard that looked like this. It was hard to keep some from jumping off the train to investigate. Regards, Bill Boudway
  9. HI, Does anyone have the paint code for the green used on the Bell Telephone trucks around the late 1950's? Also, what is added to the mix to make the paint an engine enamel? Bill Boudway gnbboudway@msn.com

  12. Hi, I need a set (12) pistons for our Packard Twin Six. 3" bore + .030", .75" pin dia., 2.034" compression height, and 3 5/16" height. Does anyone know a source for a set of stock pistons? I have a quote from Egge for a set, but have to believe that there must exist a set of off-the-shelf pistons that will work. Thanks. Bill Boudway gnbboudway@msn.com
  13. Hi, If interested, I have a pair of 18" rims for sale. 6-bolt, 5 1/2" bolt circle. 5 3/4" hubcap hole. I'll have them at Hershey, Space # C2I-44, in the Chocolate Field. Thanks, Bill Boudway
  14. Thanks for checking in on this post. I called PPG today, but didn't get a firm answer about the primer over the linsead oil on the wood. They did, however, remind me that the flex additive for the finish coats would be good. This is used when painting plastic "bumpers" on modern iron. Good suggestion about the wheel turner. We have one. I'll get a photo of it when we get to the painting. Regards, Bill Boudway
  15. Hi, No takers on this top yet, so you can check it out and buy it at our flea market space in Hershey. Space # C2I-44 in the Chocolate Field. thanks, Bill Boudway

  21. I'm in the process of finishing the wheels for our Packard Twin Six. I've completed the linseed oil treatment and are getting ready for paint. What process should I use to get to color? What primer will be compatable? Obviously, the big concern here is adhesion. I'm working with PPG paints. Any help will be appreciated. Bill Boudway gnbboudway@msn.com
