  1. Hi Folks, Need a source for 600 weight steam cylinder oil in the Rochester, NY neighborhood. Also, any thoughts on the various brands: Mobil, Texaco Vanguard 460, or Lubriplate SPO-288. Must not have the EP additive. Regards, Bill Boudway
  2. Hi, You can find serial number references in The Serial Number Book For U.S. Cars, 1900-1975, by Grace Brigham. I have a copy and can look up your serial number to verify the year of your Studebaker. Bill Boudway
  3. Hi, This perk came with some risk. There is a story about an Air Force guy that took advantage of the deal to ship an AH Sprite returning to the States on an AF transport aircraft. Rules of the air and sea are such that if the craft gets into trouble, the captain can dump cargo to lighten the load. Do I have to tell you the rest of this story? Bill Boudway
  4. Hi Dick Runion of Tiffin Ohio made the radiator for our Packard Twin Six. Very nice job. He got the core from New Zealand. At the time, he was less than satisfied with the cores from England. The fellow had sold the business to new owners. Good luck, Bill Boudway

  8. Check out the KRIT now on eBay. The post has three cars. Model T, Flanders, and the KRIT. Item # 29030521323. I would have to change the radiator and hubcap emblems. A little too politically incorrect for today.
  9. Not too many years ago, Austie Clark sold postcards of antique autos. They were from his personal photo collection. Does anyone know where these are available now? Bill Boudway
  10. I'll vote a big yes on this, but don't feel qualified to sing it. Bill Boudway

  13. Reminds me of a search for local antique cars many years ago. I visited a new car dealership in a nearby town and asked about any old cars or parts in the neighborhood. They steered me to a Rolls-Royce chassis that had been made into a farm wagon. I went to the hedgerow where it was located and found a 6" tree growing up through the 23" Buffalo wire wheels. That told me it probably was a mid 1920s Springfield Rolls. The next question to the owner was "What happened to the rest of the car?" He told me that it was an aluminum bodied Picadilly runabout. The body was scrapped during WWII and the engine and transmission dumped down the bank of the creek to prevent erosion. The chassis was lberated with the help of a chain saw and made its way to a restorer in Texas.
