If you can't find NORS gaskets, here's a suggestion for "revitalizing" old copper/asbestos gaskets.<BR>First, soak them in water. Probably for more than a day. <BR>Next, freeze them. This is supposed to expand the asbestos.<BR>Finally, dry them out.<BR>This was offered in a tech seminar at the AACA Annual meeting a few years ago. I haven't tried it, but it makes sense.<BR>It has to be better than just re-using the old gaskets.<BR>Also, a method was suggested for cleaning old gaskets: Use a solution of vinegar and salt with steel wool.<BR>Good Luck!!

Another solution is to use 5-gallon buckets of water. Just dump out the water when you take down on Saturday.<BR>Incidentaly, has anyone calculated the total weight required to hold down a 10 X 20 canopy in a 40-MPH wind?

I believe that the DuPont that was owned by Mr. and Mrs. Stanley Smith Sr. is now in the Swigert Museun in Huntingdon, PA. I believe that it's there on loan and has also been restored. I remember the car from the early 1960's when they owned it and lived in State College, PA. <BR>Good Luck!!
