The people that put the engine dont rember what color it was and dont have the old engine around anymore. just want it to look orignal . they just used the engine all other correct parts are there. any help would be welcomed.

  7. chrysler 300 383cid the hot light is on all the time. there is also a cold light, ican get the cold light if come on if i groung the one wire this wire has 12volts other wire is ground. this is not the oignal engine not sure what year at this point, but it has a single termal wire connection but the only light that will come on is the cold light when you connect the 12volt wire to it. cannot get the hot light to go out no matter what. would like both to work correctly but would settle for the hot light to work. dont want to put in a after market gauge. Any info either a wire diagram or infor on how this works would be helpfull.

  10. ITS MINE offered him 1200 and he took it drove it home at 630 this evening everythin works except alt just put in the deep cycle batter out of my camper and drove it home. The salesman wasent to happy I was at the lot on saterday and the enginge wouldnt stay running 1because the battery was dead and the alt isnt working and 2 because when they put in the diffrent engine they have the vac lines all messed up dont have the pcv valve plumed in just ran the vac line to the air cleaner and a bunch of other lines were not connected. Just pluged off all the lines put in battery and the guy wanted to know if i was towing it home said nope turned the key and it run pretty good was he upset said his guys could not figure out why it wouldnt run right told him i knew on saterday what the basic problem was. to late now its paid for and MINE. handled like a dream rode excellent. will post better pic. later this week. 13. dosent matter if it has drums in the rear and discs on the front it will still have a proportioning valve some where in the system. most newer chryslers starting about 1996 have them in the brake line to each wheel, your car should have one some where in the system for thbrakes to fuction correctly, it may not be call a proportioning valve may be brake limiting differential valve. Most newer cars with ESP(electronic stability program) ERM (electronic rollover mitigation) TCS (traction control system) BAS (brake assist system) are all controled electronicly controled. the Proportion valve is now called EVBP ( electronic variable brake proportioning). TCS also can replace the rear wheel drive locking diff, or posi-trac, which is controled by the brake system. 14. I need some info on a 1965 chrysler 300 4door hard top, (not a letter car) did this car come with 14inch wheels they seen to be small for this car. what type of carb was on the car right now someone for some unknown reason has put an hiperformance manifold and a holly double pumper carb on. Not sure if this is orignal engine or not but it is either a 383or 413. also would it have dual exhaust? I am looking into buying this car its a used car lot and the salesman dosent know to much about the car. it is very solid paint real good no repairs noticed interior is very good just dirty. it does run not real good cold - carb problem more than likely exhaust leaks and valve covers leak common problem use to change them all the time on the 440 police cars back in the late 70s they want 2,995 for it i want it for a daily driver. this thing is huge and it is the corect color
  15. they use it for weight reduction. shouldent make any noise not real sure but i think there is a tsb for the noise. If not your dealer can call star hot line for help.

  17. Yesterday at our firemans parade there was a 1940 ford armored truck, was told that only 5 still exist. And was also that you are nolonger allowed to buy any armored trucks. this one belongs to a locol bank. Dont mind the date didnt change it when i replaced batterys. Pics are not that great it was raining very hard

  20. hey let me check at work tomorrow I may have one in my tool box if you havent found one yet. if i do give you a good deal. i work at a chrysler dealership.
  21. looks like a instutment cluster from a 1962 buick lesabe
  22. working in a jeep dealership in the mid 90s we had a recall to replace the donut with a fulsize spare due to the transfer case overheating and causing a fire when the donut was installed. even now if you just replace the rear tires or front tires you will have transfer case problems, like wont engage into 4wd wont come out of 4wd jumping when going around turns, and strange noises. wnd with newer cases with clutches inside and being all wheel drive i have seen clutches worn out in very few miles. with my chrysler it will destroy the fluid coupling in the rear end module. and will also turn on a SERVICE FOUR WHEEL DRIVE SYSTEM light if the tires are not the same size. melvin schwentner chrysler mastertech a.s.e. mastertech
  23. I dont think that there are too many cars out there today that will be worth anythin in the future, other than a few like corvette prowlers vipers mustangs and such, I cant afford them now let alone in the future. But he thing is like some one said before how are you going to weld, find good metal? Well right now you can not weld most new cars because they are made of quiet steel-- two peices of metal with a peice of plastic sandwiched inbetween to keep noise down. As far as engine work a basic engine still works the same its the electronics that mkes it run . I have worked in a garage since 1969 and have seen many changes some for the good some not. Last week I had to go to training for the new Chrysler minivan one of the things we were instructed on was how the heated seats work- you push the heated seat button a signal is sent to the dmrl/dmrr(powerwindow switches left side and right side not called switches anymore they are mini computers) which acknowledges the request by grounding one of the indactor lamp circuits and sending a CAN-ihs bus message ( a basic networking system but this one is call interior high speed) Then the CCN ( this is what we use to call the gauge cluster which is now a computer/body computer)recives the message and sends a LIN bus ( one wire instead of two as in the CAN bus(CAN is controller area network) to the heated seat module which is also a small computer under the front seat then your butt will start to get warm and all it took was three computers and appx 50 feet of wire to do this. dont ask how the radio works. As it is a computer even has its own harddrive. And dont even think of trying repair the harness if somethin happens to it because as i said before 50 feet yes the harness has to be right leangth and proper copper wire just not your everyday wire either or nothing will work. And since there are no young people getting into the auto repair who is going to fix these cars in the future? your regular guy just dosent have the training to do this. And yes there is shortage of good auto techs. yes if there is a will there is a way but will everything work? I dont see todays cars being restored and if so at what cost? Where are the parts comming from? We cant even get replacement electronic parts for one that i am working on at work because of nobody is repairing them, and new parts are not aviable. and this is on a 2006 dodge truck. So what is going to happen? I guess we will just have to wait and see. Melvin Schwentner A.S.E Mastertech Chrysler powertrain spec.
