  1. A rainy and cold weekend (at least we didnt get mega snow) and Rob got some lines run. No help from me as I am avoiding Austin (and friends) till the infection rate slows down. But the lines are now run from the pump to the firewall and all new brake lines are run too.
  2. It looks like an apartment parking lot to me. Nice car but expensive.
  3. I am close to San Antonio and could look at the car for you........
  4. John D. We thought about sealing the port but we decided that we will carry a Canary in the car with us to keep track of the air and also to tell us if we are going to die:-) Here are some more pictures after we had sealed it up.
  5. More work on the gas tank and pump. With the in tank pump, the head of the pump runs into the trunk floor. So, to do any type of repair or work on the in tank pump, you would have to drain the tank and then remove it. Not our idea of fun..... So we decided to cut the trunk and build a access panel under the wasted space by the spare tire. This way, we can do anything we need on the pump including replacing it.
  6. When the engines were built, they had to make sure they did not leak. So any bracket or accessory that was required for the engine to run was painted blue. Generator bracket is a good example as the bolts that hold it goes through the water jacket and could leak. All other brackets etc that went on after the leak test were satin black. I have always pulled the engine for the work you are doing. This way you can climb in the engine compartment and clean and detail it. Your engine will turn out looking better and I would rather work on the engine on a stand. My Opinion.....
  7. Back to work on the car after having company and work all through the holidays. Cut another hole in the tank and put in the Holley in tank fuel pump. Put in a new sender that will be used for the gas gauge. Closed off the other inlets and outlets on the sender unit.
  8. They already have one. The Electra EV. https://www.hotcars.com/everything-we-know-about-the-electra-ev-concept-by-buick/
  9. I sure would like to find that in my stocking this morning.....
  10. Finally got the parts and work has somewhat slowed down for Rob. Back end is almost done. Brakes and axel is back together and now he is replacing the gas tank. The dont make a tank for that car but a 1st gen Riviera tank fits with some modifications. Basically you cut the filler neck off the old one and replace the new one with it. If your tank is rusty and crusty its a good replacement. Considering we are putting a in tank Fuel Pump in for EFI we thought it was a good idea. It fit right in..... Now to put the pump in.
  11. A gentleman name Mike makes these. He probably is the supplier. I used to have his phone number but cant find it any more. I bought a pair for my 1950 Wagon and they were beautiful.
  12. Its been a while here... We had to wait on some parts and then travel for work got in the way. Hoping that we get some things done over this weekend.
  13. I got a 24 V system that has a leaf blower and love it. I had gas before and this is quieter and easier to use. The battery lasts a long while. MY neighbor has an electric lawnmower that he likes.
  14. What are you looking for ? I have some information on 1950 Buicks. Paint colors, interior and the salesman's book.
  15. I am using LizardSkin and Dynamat on my 1960 for both sound and heat.
  16. Joie Chitwood shows came to the Astrodome every winter. We would always go see them. They always had a big thrill introduced at our show. One year they had 2 cars run up ramps and crash head into each other. It was spectacular. But it was the only time they did that stunt.
  17. Interesting Craig. I have a 1960 Buick and it is not as well equipped. I have an ashtray and lighter in the front and one in the back.
  18. Working on my 1980 Coupe De Ville and I am amazed at the number of both lighters and ashtrays in this car. My earlier Buick's had a lighter and an ashtray in the front and in the back seat. But this Cadillac had one for each of the 4 passengers. I was amazed especially my more modern cars have none.
  19. It would be nice to be able to do that. All the transmission shops, even the one that have been around forever, just laughed at me when I told them it was a dynaflow. Anyway more cleaning, scraping and blasting is going on. I thought we had all the parts we need, but that wasn't the case. So more parts are ordered and more parts are on the way. Before and after pictures.
  20. I found this article on how to fix Opera lights and thought I would pass it along. You never know when the fat lady will sing. https://www.instructables.com/Rebuild-Your-Cars-EL-electroluminescent-Lights/?fbclid=IwAR1vePVMHZ0ri6fglPIExtbI224FZxviAmwhytWx1KXBi_9j0ChwclgyCMA
  21. I found its on Ebay. https://www.ebay.com/itm/352659955049?_trkparms=amclksrc%3DITM%26aid%3D111001%26algo%3DREC.SEED%26ao%3D1%26asc%3D20160908105057%26meid%3D38f961c391c04669b17710ada1666c84%26pid%3D100675%26rk%3D1%26rkt%3D15%26sd%3D352659955049%26itm%3D352659955049%26pmt%3D0%26noa%3D1%26pg%3D2380057&_trksid=p2380057.c100675.m4236&_trkparms=pageci%3A9f4530fa-3171-11ec-8dc4-6ef3c922102b|parentrq%3A9c74a05717c0aaecb52477defff925c8|iid%3A1
  22. I put a Retrosound unit in with some good speakers. This was in my 1980 Cadillac and I am happy. It looks like a factory unit but has Bluetooth and Sirius plus a place to plug in a thumb drive full of MP3s. https://www.retromanufacturing.com/?campaignid=11748651483&adgroupid=116560181900&network=g&device=c&gclid=EAIaIQobChMIjryGuJzX8wIV73xvBB1I5QZBEAAYASAAEgLU4vD_BwE
  23. The new gas tank came. Some cutting on the neck to get it behind the license plate and it will be set. Nobody makes a tank for the Electra but a 63-64 Riviera tank will fit with some modifications. The tank is correct, it is the filler neck that needs some modifications.
