  1. This is a '52 Chieftain
  2. unfortunately, it will probably end up like this updated one:
  3. Shops in the Northwest will quote $100,000. for starters, without having seen the car. If that doesn't scare the customer away, they'll ask for detailed photos or for you to bring the car by (no "house call" estimates). Labor alone could eat up most, if nor all, of that $100k. and then add parts and supplies ...and that was for an early '30's non-running but "complete" mid-level orphan sedan (non "big three"). That's probably why common project cars aren't selling except to the DIY crowd.
  4. Here's a couple of piddlys about the Pontiac. Upholstery vinyl looks original, especially with the embossed emblems and the sunburn near the package tray, but the cloth inserts are not a factory pattern. The hubcaps may be original, but the fake knock-offs are added accessory items. No comment about the trunk mat except that it reminds me of grandma's oil cloth kitchen table cloth. The GM 1960 vista hardtops, in my opinion, appear more attractive due to the deemphasized tail fins and flat wide decks used that year as opposed to '59.
  5. Looks like Chevy was winning ...at least this battle.
  6. On 3/28, Seller reduced price to $12,000 ...and the seller is asking $15,000. for this? Maybe it's the California black plate premium?
  7. https://spokane.craigslist.org/cto/d/spokane-1967-rover-tc2000/7731369836.html Built between 1963 and 1971 the Rover TC2000 or P6. was the class of the field in Europe. "Before BMW had the European sports sedan genre covered, there was the Rover 2000TC. Based on a lively, rear-wheel drive platform, it combined impeccable handling with a dash of classic British luxury. Taking a strategic cue from BMW’s 1600/2002 range, Rover used their 2000/2000TC line to inject a little life into a familiar and rather staid line up. Although the Rover 2000TC, unlike the BMW 2002, is relatively unknown to North American enthusiasts, it might well be even more worthy of our attention." - Curbside Classics This particular Rover TC2000 has been in under the same ownership here in Spokane since 1970 and was actually driven to high school by its current owner ! The car is finished in Burgundy over black and has been driven but 73,000 miles since new! The car is in remarkably nice condition and is absolutely dry AND rust free ! The cars interior is in great condition, no dash cracks, headliner is taught and even the clock works ! Seat padding is still excellent and supportive and the seats show little if any wear.I remember seeing only a few of these during my over 50 years of car addiction but, until this car came along, I had never driven one. What a great driving little car! The car feels vault like solid and is truly a pleasure to drive on your favorite country road or on the freeway. The 2.0 liter inline 4 cylinder overhead cam lump is enough to propel the car quite comfortably up to speed. The cars 4 speed manual gearbox is butter smooth. The car is a little cold blooded which I will attribute mostly to our poor fuel quality here. Once warm, the car runs great ! The cars brakes are excellent with good modulation and pedal feel. The car tracks straight and there is no excessive steering play.... a very nice and comfortable driver. Very few of these wonderful Rovers were imported to the US however, many were produced and most parts are readily available. This is a great little car that can be enjoyed and proudly shown as is. Shown by appointment. Klaus - - (509) 703-4255
  8. https://seattle.craigslist.org/see/cto/d/seattle-1972-saab-96-v4/7730226584.html 21 photos on ad Great runner, lots of recent work. This is a fun working project, gets lots of looks and smiles and starts conversations wherever it goes. Bought it from a Saab family on Whidbey Island two years ago, and I am losing my garage space so I have to let it go. It is a very fun, stable front wheel drive car that is easy to work on, has an amazingly supportive community, and parts are more available and less expensive than you might think. It is a simple, beautifully funky machine, ready for fun. We have about $8K invested to date in addition to the purchase two years ago. There are a few more mechanical items to take care of before cosmetics, or it is a great survivor as is. Full price offer will include four Saab Soccer Ball wheels with lug bolts, washers, and new center caps, ready for you to fit new tires. Comes with lots of spare parts, gaskets, workshop manual, straight front end panel, nearly perfect grill and headlight bezels, and very nice center grill with badge. I am happy to provide the list of reliable parts contacts. Four-speed manual on the column with a freewheel. 10. Have you ever tried the "Stay at Home Blues". No go, no dirt. ...also. no fun.
  11. The old guard is diminishing in numbers. Most younger collectors can't relate to cars made 20 or 30 years before they were born. I appreciate pre-WWII cars and owned more than a few in the past (1960's) but grew up riding in and living with 50's through '70's cars. I still think 100 year old cars are neat, but mostly impractical, costly to maintain, and of diminishing interest to enthusiasts and the general public who, for he most part, never saw these cars when they were commonly on the road.
  12. In 1983 Joseph H. Buck claimed that his uncle, the first postmaster, Julius Buck, named the office "Aloah" after a small resort on Lake Winnebago in Wisconsin. Supposedly the last two letters were transposed by the Post Office during the application process. The local pronunciation, however, has remained /əˈloʊ.
  13. Original appearing, yes, but not HPOF original. Nice car, well refurbished, but not original.
  14. Your basic "stripper". At least it has a heater. The six cylinder engine is probably what saved it from generations of hot rodders, that and not having a radio.
  15. The days of $500. tri-five Chevys is long gone. You'd think they came with gold bars in the glove box these days. They're still holding pretty strong despite the general slackening of the market for '50's collector cars. We purchased, street raced (and scrapped) many a cheap '55-'57 Chevy back in the '60's.

Call/text - (503) 515-9123 **** The gold colored "Nomad" emblem on the tailgate above the handle is also missing. Being a tri-five Chevy, virtually all parts are available How much does a 1955 Chevy Nomad cost? The 1955 Chevrolet Nomad runs anywhere from $75000, and upwards of $150,000. The price is reflective of their physical conditions, as well as any potential modifications that could've been done prior. Restomods have become popular over the years, as enthusiasts use modern technology to have fun on old platforms.
  18. Thanks for the additional info. Most of us would still need to have the two cars (or their pictures) side by side to tell the difference. Subtle changes were probably not even necessary to sell new cars in the immediate post WWII era. Most anything new on four wheels sold pretty well.
