  1. Yes I know that’s a Ford, pic for reference only.... 😁
  2. I am planning to drive the ‘27 Buick Standard in a parade this Independence Day and is like to mount a few American Flags on the front of the car. Besides a motorcycle mount this is really all it found online. Anyone know of a good quality flag mount? I don’t buy poor quality items if I can avoid them so I’d like a good quality mount(s), anyone have experience with any? id really prefer maybe one flag mounted on each corner of the front bumper rather than this cheap radiator mount if possible! Id love to hear from you guys on this and recommendations!? Much appreciated folks! William Crazyfamily
  3. Since it’s on topic, I see Bob’s has water pump rebuild kits, anyone know if their rebuild kit has a stainless shaft? I’ll give them a call Monday but just curious if anyone knows in the meantime? i have an extra water pump that I am going to rebuild but don’t mind doing it myself if their kit is worth it.....
  4. Very interesting , would love to see where you mounted the Kawasaki switch controls?? Mind sharing some pictures?
  5. Yes I’d appreciate that, I’d like to go electronic if possible on my 1927 Buick’s standard six!! i look forward to hearing from you soon.... thanks again! William
  6. I am not professional on these by any means but I looked on the Pertronix site and they don’t have them listed for my 1927 standard six so my guess would be no go for anything older?
  7. Thanks so much Bob, this is exactly what I was looking for! Yes I am pretty sure it’s exacrly the same as the 27/27! i will be ordering the kit as soon as I get the regulator freed up, it’s been sitting since at least 2004 when the prev owner passed away so the regulator is frozen in place and the crank handle is broken off (fantastic pot metal!) so I need to free it up then ordering all new rubber for the entire car, most of it missing anyway.
  8. I have an exhaust leak at the outside point where then pivot rod gets thru the butterfly. i am definitely going to do what you did and block off that two butterfly flies, at the collector and the heat riser, soon as I may just spot weld that point where the exhaust leak is and grind it off so it looks smooth. Just figured if I could pick up a new collector I’d be nice to just bolt it in now.
  9. Ok I need some help, I want to purchase a new exhaust collector that houses the butterfly that goes to the heatriser for my ‘27 Buick Standard Model 27. i know I saw this as a new piece available on a website somewhere and can’t find it again for the life of me! Anyone know where to find one?
  10. Awesome thank you Sir! So it looks like the section I marked in red is quite wide and basically nonexistent on mine right now!! So a new rubber seal on the base of the windshield should cover any paint issue I believe! this section I highlighted in red is all rubber and looks a little over 1/2 inch wide?
  11. If anyone has a good picture From the outside of the base/bottom weatherstripping that seals the roll up windshield on a 1927 Standard Buick (not sure if Master is the same) and could post it? I’d appreciate it.... This rubber is broken up and needs replaced on my car however whoever painted my car painted slightly up onto the little bit of molding that’s left. My issue is I’d like to replace the rubber weatherstripping and I know Steele Products sells it however with the paint going up onto the current rubber my worry is removing the rubber and not damaging more of the paint! I am hoping that a new rubber weatherstripping would cover down onto the paint a bit to cover any small paint issues that WILL occur when I remove the current rubber! I apologize I am not at the car but here is where i am referring to:
  12. It looks and feels like glass to me
  13. Ok so does anyone else have a different style “needle and seat” like I do? Seems a I don’t have the same style need and seat as others have posted so I’m curious if anyone else has this style and any reported issues w it? i believe this is a newer style carb than the 1927 model year car is.... maybe a 28-29? But I’m more curious about the style of needle and seat than what year carb.
  14. Does last 2 weekends count? Took the old girl to get her first bath since purchasing our 1927 Standard! Before and after, IMHO for a quick wash and one coat of yellow wax by hand I think “she shined up real good” as my Grandmother used to say! Enjoy..... ps, white walls will be hit with bleach white the next time I have her out!!
  15. Purchased the car after the prev owner passed away in 2004. The car sat in his garage u touched since then.... We purchased the car last Summer and had to build a new fuel tank, clean and rebuild the carb, flush everything, and rebuild the Stewart Warner Vacuum Fuel System. I finally was able to wash it and a light coat of wax by hand this past weekend, just thought it was time to share it with you fine folks! The list of to do’s is long but a huge thanks to the many folks that have helped me so far!! Without you guys I wouldn’t be where I am at with the car! I must say she doesn’t look bad for a quick wash and wax! Disregard the dirty white walls, I didn’t have the correct cleaning agents when I washed it Sunday! I hope everyone enjoys the car, I certainly have enjoyed it so far and have enjoyed this learning process! This is my first classic car as I’ve always been a muscle car guy…
  16. Gotcha, I think I sent you a picture of my set up inside the carb which doesn't seem to have a needle and seat like yours does. I sent you a picture didn't I Hugh?
  17. Ok so I’m thinking the float needs adjusted in the carb but I’ll ask anyway! so as soon as I shut the car off gas IMMEDIATELY starts dripping out the weep hole from the cab! thoughts? its a pita to jump out and put the hood up every single time I stop !
  18. Great info Hugh, no worries I’m staying with the stock configuration but just curious if anything has tried this modification. I was thinking the day, it would have to be a pass through within the Vacuum tank housing.
  19. Just curious here, since Bob’s carries a modern spin on oil filter inside an original style oil filter housing of the 1920-30’s era has anyone modified a Stewart Warner Vacuum Fuel System housing to contain a 6/12volt Fuel Pump and regulator so the look of authenticity however the “convenience”, I guess as I know there are pros and cons to everything, of a modern fuel pump/regulator system?? Obviously it would entail gutting and heavy modifications to the SW Vacuum housing to hide a electric fuel pump and fuel pressure regulator inside however I’m just curious if anyone has attempted it ? Again, I know there are pros and cons and as many of you know I just got my ‘27 Standard running after sitting since AT LEAST December 2004, maybe earlier, when the prev owner passed away and the car sat in the garage untouched till Summer 2018, and I elected to rebuild the S&W Vacuum Fuel Pump/System and just got the car running last week and first real drive on the road will be this Saturday! I am anxious to hear from everyone on this and curious if anyone has tried this modification! Please join the fun and let’s hear from everyone on it..... ”Pictures is not my car, just a pic on topic, if it is your car.... wow she is Purdy!”
  20. I have been thinking of adding a set of mirrors to my 1927 Buick Model 27, the only thing I have at the moment, besides me looking w my own eyes over my shoulders, is the TWO rear view mirrors that need to be resilvered that were mounted inside the car when I purchased it last Summer. Reading through everyone’s ideas and comments, which I always find invaluable, i was wondering if someone could drill down through the door hinge pin and then mount a mirror in place like above and use the pin included with the mirrors as shown to mount and secure the mirror? Might take someone machining** a new low profile door hinge pin w a low profile head on it or even a mirror arm! **I know from experience that working with a real machinist is not cheap and cost can far exceed the idea one had in mind when they set out to do the modification!! I am an avid motorcyclist and a few years ago I wanted to mount (correctly) a set of led turn signal mirrors from a Ducati 1098 onto my Suzuki TL1000R so having a machinist machine two “approx” one inch thick by two and half inch aluminum adapter blocks to change the mounting style of the Ducati mirrors to interface with the Suzuki, and while I don’t regret it NOW and they look fantastic, at the time I nearly ran off the road when the machinist told me how much the cost was to make them. $260 USD before I powder coated them and purchased the factory mirrors! That’s a lot for a 1 X 2.5 inch aluminum block, well for two of them... but again I don’t regret it one bit now as I love them, I love the look, it updates the bike, the guys in our motorcycle group of enthusiasts for THIS bike love them and that’s all cool! But at the time I thought “what the hell was I thinking!!!” but hey, cash 💰 💴 💵 can get just about anything to mount on anything else and look factory when doing so!!! Just takes a little cold hard cashola!!!
  21. Great information Tinindian! I think the prev owner must have over filled the wiper housing, the amount of oil that leaked out of the wiper motor housing onto the cowl is a lot more than what I would think would be drawn up by the motor during the procedure you posted above!! The prev owner must have done something wrong, I’ll tackle the wiper this weekend (Sunday), is really like to get it working ASAP! I do have a question about the wiper motor though. The fitting that the vacuum line attaches to, it was just loose in the wiper motor. It does not seem to be broken off, it just seems as though it’s design the fitting just slide out of the motor, is this the way it’s designed? Does the fitting silicone in place to hold and seal the connection to the wiper motor housing?
  22. Awesome news Hugh, Big weekend for both of us! Thanks for still taking them time to message back and forth so many times with me Sir! I wish I had known you were working on your car I would not have bugged you so much!!!! Again, Congrats Sir!!!
  23. I have been wondering this myself!?!?!?
  24. Ok awesome I have a manual I’ll take a look and see what I can find. Thanks again!
