  1. There is a very old popular Hotel/Bar that was once a brothel across the street from the parked cars, looks like they’re are heading there! the hotel/bar was called “The Howard House” or “The Howard Hotel”. Looks like the men are reaching to tuck in their shirts as they walk across the street.
  2. I was at a local restaurant the other night and thought I’d share the mural they have on their wall depicting our local Main Street. Pretty cool..... Enjoy!
  3. I’ve worked at a large GM dealership for nearly 20 years now, tons of mouse stories but I had a customer one time, her home backed to a large corn field. When they would harvest the corn she would get mice in her home and garage. Well she came out to drive her 3 year old Buick and a Christmas tree of warning lights came on her dash. She gets it towed in and we discover nicely had eaten the wiring, she trades the car in instead of paying the money to replace the main harness. Two weeks later...... yes TWO weeks later her new car SAME thing!!! Obviously she could not just trade this two week old car so she paid the money to get it fixed. Also another customer turned on her heater one cool Summer morning and heard a bunch of racket as the blower literally chopped up a mouse! Well she does nothing about it not knowing what the sound was. Well it only took a short time to decay and start to smell and as it got hot again outside. The stench got unbearable so she brought it in and that’s when my techs found the mess!! Obviously the blower box had to be replaced and the HVAC system sanitized! i saw the mess w that one and it was nasty!
  4. Does anyone have a bench top adjustable power supply that could test a 12v breaker/fuse in at 6v? im sure if you find a local electronic repair facility they they’d be happy to test it for you.....
  5. Will the breaker being made for 12v be an issue?
  6. From what others have told me it’s personal preference however it’s seems majority of people go with a plastic (NITROPHY) float. i just ordered a NITROPHYLFloat for my rebuild as well due to the recommendation from Hugh_25_25 and a few others who have been very very helpful
  7. Any recommendations for carb rebuild kit, I really only need the gasket between the body and the bowl I believe.....besides ordering the felt that we discussed for both the metering pin and using the left over felt for the pedals, of which I didn’t even realize that there was any there to begin with..... mine is all but worn away to nothing!!! Man if I were to drove when it’s cold out that would let a lot of air in!!!! not a bad thing I guess if there would be some way to cool the interior, it’s going to be extremely hot in the passenger compartment during hot days of Summer that’s for sure!!! I do have a small fan that mounts to the steering column that the prev owner game me with the spare parts as well! Hopefully that helps. also recommendations on where to wire the Trippe driving lights up to? Just hide a switch somewhere and fused wire right to battery with a relay and relay harness? The prev owner never wired them up and I’d like to, right now there is a two foot long lead coming off of the lights and seems to be the period correct stainless spiral wrap around the leads coming off them?? ^^^^ who replanted these?? I am considering trying some home plating kits I’ve seen,
  8. Normally I post in the pre war section however I figured this subject might run across more sections than exclusively prewar. We purchased a 1927 Buick Model 27 Standard last Summer, I've been working on her whenever possible and I am ready to install the newly built fuel tank. My question is, where can I find a brass float for the in tank fuel gauge ?? i am also looking for the correct sediment bowl filter for the Stewart Warner Vacuum Fuel Pump, which see,s to about 40 mm OD and 10.5 mm ID for the filter element. For the depth it looks like it would be about 50 mm. i really appreciate any help!
  9. Beautiful car no doubt about that!! on rebuilding the Marvel, YOU can do it yourself! I’ve never even seen a Marvel let alone tore into one until We bought our ‘27 Summer 2018!! There really isn’t a whole lot inside of one to be honest w you! I’ve never be in a ‘32 Marvel but if it’s anythng like my ‘27 then there isn’t anything to them!! Here is our ‘27, does it look like this? Sorry I don’t have the greatest pics of the carb.... but if it does look like this one thenits rediculously simple inside so if I can do it then you certainly can!!
  10. order carb kit from Bob's..... just need the correct sediment bowl filter and float for gas tank fuel gauge??
  11. olson's gaskets order for heatriser..... now onto carb kit! So who carry's the carb kits and who carries floats for the fuel tank gauge?

  13. yes sir, where can I buy the gaskets for between the carb and the heat riser, the heat riser to the exhaust and the heat riser to the intake?
  14. Where is the best place to order the heat riser to exhaust manifold and to upper intake?
  15. They were fully restored inside and out prior to the prev owner passing. Both had an a lot of spare parts including side curtains and an extra interior kit one the red one w black interior. i love the cream colored one.....nearly bought it myself and I honestly should have at the price he purchased them at! Here is a preview shot of how clean they actually were once he washed them and hit the chrome with some “Quick Glo”..... amazing stuff!
  16. Great idea Hugh, I’ll get two new levers ordered today, and if someone does have an old lever they’d part with that’s in good shape I’d like to buy one as well. ill be driving the car, hopefully, more than once a month and will make a point to keep checking the operation of the switches!
  17. I am trying to find a headlight switch lever with appropriate patina on it so it looks period for my 1927 Buick Standard. i was able to FINALLY remove the old broken lever and while I know I can purchase a new replacement lever it will look out of place! i am planning on TRYING to remove the entire set of gauges and refurbish them down the road and only try to find a replacement lever at this time. if anyone has one they’d be willing to part with or an extra please let me know! I greatly appreciate it.....
  18. Awesome project and love to see it done together by family! i just helped a friend of mine purchase TWO 1951 TD’s from the same woman that I purchased my ‘27 Buick from. Both the TD’s and my Buick had been sitting in her garage untouched since December 2004 when her husband who owned the cars passed away. All tbe cars cars needed the typical fluids changed, thorough inspection of everything, and fuel system overhaul! i don’t have many good pictures of the TD’s but thought you might like to see them., these are as we found them when they were being loaded on the rollback to take them to my friend’s house.
  19. I find myself at times thinking “Am I ever going to get this thing running!” But what I need to remember is to stop, take a breath, and just enjoy the process! ive never owned a classic car like this, I’ve been in the car business for nearly 20 years and I’ve owned just about everything else but a classic! Ive actually shouted “Yes Yes Yes!” When I’ve gotten things off like the carb or heat riser and now the dome light cover!! My 🤞🏼 That when I start putting these things back together it goes smoothly and quickly, my goal is to have this car running and driving by this time next month! i guess my debit card is going to get some action today, I have a list of things to order! wish me luck!!
  20. Grea advice Sir, I will keep you all posted on Sunday when I am back down to the car! I’m excited by the littlest things like seeing the dome light on!!!
  21. Sounds good Marty, I’ll be back down to the car on Sunday 🤞🏼 With a list of things to check on the list towards starting this thing for the first time! the dome light is one of things in the list, thanks for heads up on things to check. I’ll check continuity on each leg as well.
  22. Thanks for the heads up, I pulled the front seat bottom out yesterday to allow easier access to the headlight lever switch I had to forcefully remove from the dash.... meaning tap out from the backside of the switch! i saw the ground wire and it looked solid, even though I didn’t know what it was for at the time, aside from being a ground. ill get a new bulb anyway as that’s the easiest first step..... will report back back on it and thanks again!
  23. Fantastic info Hugh and exactly what I was looking for!! i really do want to remove all the gauges and the switch housing and refurbish all of them, including new nickle the bezels! Next year I am planning on a new interior so my plan is to do the dash and gauges/switch housing at that time. Yes please Message me about lever. As always sharing your knowledge and experience is greatly appreciated Sir!
