  1. Just did the test like in the video. I got 6 kilo ohms per coil. Guess it’s the fuel pump then. I’m going to figure that out tomorrow for sure. Also is the pump in the gas tank? Or somewhere easier to get to?
  2. The coils look really clean and I sprayed them down with contact cleaner. Could they still be messed up even if they look good?
  3. Also doing some reading on here is it likely that’s it’s the crank position sensor? I have 46800 on it if that matters
  4. So this morning I went to move my Reatta and it wouldn’t start. It would crank and not go all the way then a whining sound. If I Gave it gas it seemed like it would want to go but didn’t. I charged the battery but that didn’t do anything. The only codes in it are history codes b334h b335h b336h b552h and r061h. Also the service engine soon light is on when I try to start it. Don’t really know what to do from here as it ran fine last night. Thanks in advance
  5. Went to the junkyard today. Got a new radio, ECC and kick panel. Place had five Reattas. Pretty much all gone though. Tomorrow is going to be installation day. I’m keeping the ECC as a spare and am hoping this radio will have a working cassette player. Or I can make one out of the two I have.
  6. So after a week of owning my 91 I’ve come across a couple things I didn’t initially notice and would like opinions on. First I think my taillight may need to be restored. I was driving in the rain and it’s foggy on the inside. Second for the black molding is a sharpie ok to touch it up with or is there paint for it. And for the area in between the hood and bumper is it better to respray it or just touch up. Third is there a picture guide of how to remove the radio and ECC? Lastly is there anything that would be good to remove to get at the spark plugs? Thanks in advance.
  7. THIS AD HAS EXPIRED Here’s an early 88 in New Jersey https://cnj.craigslist.org/ctd/d/1988-buick-reatta-coupe/6658509580.html
  8. I need floor mats if they’re still available.
  9. To day I washed and waxed my car and am currently parked next to a Cadillac Allante at the local cruise in night. I’ve gotten a few what’s that questions along with a I haven’t seen one of those in years.
  10. @ChrisWhewell I bought it two days ago i love it so far. My project for this afternoon is taking apart the ECC to clean it since it’s stuck on 90 for the heat. And since I’m in there I’m going to try to get the cassette that’s stuck out.
  11. Guess I’ll check that out too. Thanks
  12. So far this is the only picture of my Reatta. Just picked her up yesterday. 91 with a bit under 47k. CD player no other options. And I love it so far.
  13. Thanks guys guess I’ll work on this after my trip to the DMV tomorrow
  14. Yeh that’s exactly it. Do you think spraying some electrical contact cleaner in there work? Or I’d have to take all that out?
  15. So I just picked up my new to me 91 and ran fine all the way home. But I did something to the ac controls and now it won’t go down. So it’s stuck blowing at 90 all vents work. I don’t have a Manual so don’t know where to start looking at this issue. Thank all
  16. @DAVES89 I believe they are Cadillac mats. But I’ll double check. They didn’t have the R in the middle. @padgett that site had a bit more info thanks
  17. Yeh that’s the one. I have doubts since this will be the most expensive thing I’ve ever bought. Besides the few things I mentioned above. It also doesn’t have the correct floor mats and none of the books. But those shouldn’t be too hard to find. Looks like I’ll be giving the dealership a call tomorrow to confirm a pickup time. Thanks all.
  18. Thanks Marck, it has about 47k on it and is burgandy and grey. So from what I found about 25 in that combo. This will be the most expensive thing I’ve ever bought so I guess that is why it seems high to me. And I am used to there being at least some negotiation.
  19. So I looked at the car today. To me it looks pretty good. Only a few issues that I saw. The radio has a cassette stuck in it. The security light flashes while the door is open. Some paint blemishes. Fluids looked clean. And it’s at a dealership and they are replacing the power antenna. Only think is I think their price may be a little high at 7k firm. Would just like you guys opinion on this. I have put a deposit down but can still back out
  20. Alright thanks for the info guys. From what you’ve said I guess I was right in my assumption that there weren’t many problems, just changes. Thanks again guys. I’ll let you all know how this pans out.
  21. Yeh it’s a coupe. I found it on the data base last updated info was in 99 but with the mileage put on between then and now was about 40k so not too bad. I’m planning on doing the car fax once I go to see it in person. Pictures look nice but those can lie. Thanks for the info
  22. So I’m going to be looking at a 91 later in the week at a dealer by me. From what I found on here there doesn’t seem to be any 91 specific problems. Besides maybe the IPC. But just wanted to ask all of you if there is. They said they don’t have the books or any maintenance records but it’s low miles. That’s not a total deal breaker but not the greatest. Thanks in advance
  23. I upgraded my daily driver(and only car :( ) to a 98 Buick Lesabre back in December. I had a 97. My family doesn't really understand why I like "old" cars, had a lot of questions at Christmas dinner on why I would buy the same car. I'm looking for a Reatta now. Mostly because it's older, cooler, and affordable. I also love pretty much the entire Buick lineup between 1990 and 1999. Especially the Roadmaster wagons. Most of those are what are generally described as "old people cars". I guess those would be part of this Malaise Era. But I like them. And there has to be someone for every type of car no matter how weird, boring or overlooked. As mentioned above people go for what they remember when they were young, one of the reasons I like them so much is the Bench seat in the front. My dad's 66 Mustang had one. Granted my mom made him get rid of it when I was about 12 and buying one when I was 16 was in no way an option. So the front bench was an option I looked for in cars. Luckily Buicks came standard with them. Although my list of cars I want stretches far and wide with model years, makes, and models. My list of what I can afford, like, and have the skill to maintain is a very short one. I don't doubt I'm alone in this thought for younger people. I know of a few car clubs by me that are mostly newer stuff Subaru's and other Imports. But even though these are younger guys with newer cars I'd like to think they'll be meeting up when them and their cars are considered old.
  24. Being a younger person (24), I guess I'm a bit of an outlier in that I prefer going to a store over buying online. Granted usually when I need a tool I usually shop at Home Depot, about a five minute drive away. There's three Sears within a 30 minute drive of me and its sad to see the condition of them these days, along with the other anchor stores. I vaguely remember when Caldor closed in 1999. And from what I see Sears seems to be having a very slow decent into that same fate. Its sad to see the list of failing and bankrupt retail stores growing. Toys R Us just went under, I don't think Sears, JC Penny and Macy's have a long life left. And I would love for them to prove me wrong, If they can adapt they can survive.
