  1. Cadillac grill is a lot better than LaSalle. Guess they had to justify the relative pecking order somehow.
  2. These have a real following and nice ones go for $12-15K. I suppose if you picked this up for $3-4K and did you own work....(depending on why it got parked)....one issue: this is a salty environment https://slo.craigslist.org/cto/d/morro-bay-1975-honda-civic-cvcc/7703266821.html 1975 Honda Civic CVCC 4 cylinder, 5 speed manual A/C, not working 72k miles Not currently running Been sitting for 9 years Ran when parked Clean Title Current Registration Smog Exempt 4 brand new tires $5500 or best offer (805) 441-8371
  3. No engine pics but seems a decent driver.....I wonder how the seller came to own it... https://sfbay.craigslist.org/eby/cto/d/el-sobrante-1940-cadillac-lasalle-sedan/7704356646.html 1940 Cadillac Lasalle 52 series Touring Sedan 322 ci L-head V8 paired with a column-shifted three-speed manual transmission The three-spoke steering wheel features a chrome horn ring, and it frames a 100-mph sweep speedometer and gauges for water temperature, amperage, fuel level, and oil pressure. This is a starting, running, driving, breaking and registered car. It does not run hot and I have driven it 30 miles to work and back twice sense owning. It is garage stored and started and driven around the block once a month. Battery has been connected to a battery tender and is ready to be driven. This is a nice presentable car that can be driven as you fix the little things that would be needed to make it a daily driver. email: a5c9854b26643d9d987b7f036db5984e@sale.craigslist.org
  4. 2 Door Wagon...Seems like there is an inverse relationship between usability and desirability (more pics in ad) I'd like it a lot better in the original mint green with 3speed + OD, but it does look presentable and useable. https://sfbay.craigslist.org/scz/cto/d/petaluma-55-ford-ranch-wagon/7704113566.html Survivor, runs and drives great. Straight body, no broken windows. 272 Y block, 4 speed on the floor. In our garage the last 20 years in Petaluma. California car, 3rd owner. email: 86c0ebb5e76b311db02bc5b0f7b08f3f@sale.craigslist.org
  5. For sale for over a year. Always makes you wonder... Judging by the air cleaner, it must be the sports model.
  6. I do enjoy them in my Swedish cousin's 2CV
  7. Also, asbestos can't harm you unless you inhale it's dust. It's not health food, but it's not a deadly poison that kills on contact either.
  8. I think we can probably all agree on the Model T and the VW Beetle. 50 years from know they will point to the Tesla roadster of possibly the model S. The good news: we don't need to worry about it.
  9. "Pictures show condition when stored". That's like using your high school picture on a dating app! Could lead to disappointment.
  10. I was in a tank Battalion in the 70's that deployed to Germany every year to pretend to fight the Russians. It was not uncommon for German VW drivers to play chicken with a tank, and in one case actually ran one off the road. Apparently this truck drive didn't flinch!
  11. Pretty sure TDs have declined at least as adjusted for inflation. They don't have those nice pre-war style wheels like a TC but have similar performance (0-60 eventually) that limits their everyday usefulness. In my experience, MGs in general have some of the best clubs!
  12. While looking at ads this morning I saw 3 VW powered "replicas" of this car for the same price as this real one! (more pics in ad) https://sacramento.craigslist.org/cto/d/sacramento-mg-td-for-sale/7701197968.html True barn find. 1951 MGTD. Dry stored since 1960. 40k original miles. 13. This style of speedster would be very out of date after WWI so I'm happy to see this listed as a 1913. Price is pretty high given the condition but it has some nice features. https://sacramento.craigslist.org/cto/d/red-bluff-model-speedster/7703770435.html 1913 Model T Speedster Complete and Runs good Ruckstell rear axel, Wire wheels and Brass Radiator ! Needs restoration $10,000.00 Jim email: 9f92e96cf0f83f31b938d13ec463906a@sale.craigslist.org
  14. Looks like a very nice example...yes, I know this is getting into the "Buick money" area, but not all decisions are rational. (more pics in ad) https://sfbay.craigslist.org/pen/cto/d/redwood-city-beautiful-1936-plymouth/7703472541.html his is a beautifully restored 1936 Plymouth Coupe P2 with a P12 Deluxe motor (flathead v6). Runs and drives very well. Brakes just redone. Gauges, interior light, wipers etc all work. Full owner history documented with details about services etc dating back to second owner in 1936 Must have cash on hand to test drive. email; 80e032b7d1c53cc3b0bf1ba37202ff29@sale.craigslist.org
  15. It's red, maybe the Fire Chiefs? That is the route for the wires, but it could be done a little neater. 4 cylinders have fuel pumps. Tank is under the seat.
  16. Many many years ago someone gave me some excellent "used car advice". When looking at a car for sale, don't just look at the car. Look at and talk to the owner. Are they someone who is fastidious and takes car of their things? Those mufflers in the trunk would be red flag if I were looking at this car when it was 10 years old. Not so much now..... Not always followed...we bought a Mini with a 5 speed for a guy in his 20s who lived on a hill in downtown San Francisco. Needed an expensive clutch soon after.
  17. McKinley was the first U.S. President to ride in an automobile, including the ambulance that took him away after he was shot, but here's his successor, TR in a very interesting electric two years later in Hartford Connecticut in 1902. The car is identified as a Grand Victoria made by the Electric Vehicle company. The driver and his assistant sit above and behind, as in a hansom cab. I also love his bicycle mounted security detail. Apparently mustaches were required! Photo from Ruben Verdes at the Society of Automotive Historians, enhanced by me.
  18. Here's a link to the current ad. Sure seems good to me! https://sfbay.craigslist.org/nby/cto/d/petaluma-1926-nash/7703364995.html
  19. I knew 2 responsible adults who died riding quads. I realize that a T is no safety vehicle, but at least they'd be more likely to see you coming.
  20. I think they may need a clover leaf at each exit to allow drivers who chose the wrong lane to go back for a do-over.
  21. I don't know when roundabouts started showing up in the US, but I'd guess about 25 years ago. My town is in the process of adding a string of "mini-roundabouts" that are really just an 8 ft island to the middle of all the intersections on one crosstown street. I idea is to keep people from using this street to zoom through when others get congested, there by making it safe for bicycles, which the city council thinks we should all be using. Actually, I think anything that allows you to continue on without coming to a full stop is a plus, especially in an old car. Now Caltrans has a new idea; the TURBO roundabout. If drivers show they can figure it out, I'm sure well see many more. I note that there is no way to go around again if you are confused....
  22. ....and you question is?
