  1. Hi Joe, have a look at these. The reflector I had only suited the sealed beam, so I had to find replacement reflectors. The chrome rim was also only suited for the sealed beam. The original is a very thin piece which slips onto the end of bucket opening. Check your glass as it may be different. You need 3 angle ones and 3 brackets which takes the spring inside a spring. Hope this helps, let me know if you need more photo's. Peter
  2. Hi Joe, I have done exactly what you are doing. I will get some pics for you. Peter

  4. WTB one override pad in reasonable condition to be used as a mold to re-manufacture replacements. Nee it to scan and create a mold. Hope to produce a set for myself, the provider and some extras to on sell. I have seen some in the past that were sold on Ebay, have tried to locate information on who produced them but had no luck.

  12. So trying to get my head around this. The diff oil would be different to the oil used in my engine being thicker? keithb7 mentioned GL-1 which I understand to be gear lubricant and ok for brass? I don't believe my diff has the brass. I am not a mechanic but learning from those with the know how. Off to the shop tomorrow so I want my shopping list to be correct.
  13. This may be just a simple question, I have had my differential rebuilt for 36 Desoto and have read a bit about correct diff oils to use. It appears that oils now compared to 80 odd years ago are yards apart. Could someone please guide me or recommend on their experience the correct oil to use and the amount required, I don't want to over fill it and create other issues.
  14. For what it it worth, I have purchased a number of items from Uptowndodge. It took someone from this forum to convince him to sell to someone down in Australia. That being said, i have been given very fare prices on all items i have purchased from him, considering our dollar is equal to only 0.69 US and I hope to continue our friendship and dealings. I think prices for anything depend on rarity, condition and how bad you need the part. I remember going to a swap meeting in Auz and overheard a guy say I have been looking for this part for 15 years but then was not prepared to pay the asking price. Figure that, wait another 15 years or give up looking. That was the price, that was the rarity and that was the condition. Pay it, leave it or move on.
  15. Thanks, one more question distance between bolt holes. I was going to use this on my 1936 Desoto.
  16. Hi, what is part numbers on parts please. I am interested, located in Australia. Peter

  18. Joe, how much. I would have to get it cut down to suit like the one you bought. Peter
  19. I think the trick is, ask for photo's which would show the part and it's condition. Usually that will move them on as they cannot deliver. I had someone say they had parts but when asked a few questions, i could see they did not know much about car parts.
  20. Hi, Look at parts for sale Mark Wetherbee has some for sale.
  21. Thank you so much Paul, Just what I need.
  22. Hi, Just asking if anyone knows what these are called and where do get replacement. They are a slim nut which has a large flat neck which allows 3 nails to fix it to the internal woodwork in the frame. Mine had a slotted screw going through door hinge then into this. When timber rotted and bolt rusted only way out was the angle grinder. Any help appreciated, sorry about photo's camera not that good or maybe me
