  1. Hi, Is there someone out there making reproduction door handles and window cranks to suit 1936 Mopar. I have a 1936 Desoto Airstream in Australia and the handles / cranks are made using the pot metal so some have broken and missing bits. I don't want to go and get the existing ones i have re-chromed only to have knobs or handles break. There seems to be ample Ford parts which looks like the best I can do, which does not sit right with me. The other question is on the handle the part that screws onto the car seems to be fixed to the door handle shaft by a compression at each corner of the shaft to prevent removal. Has anyone dismantled their handles by grinding this compressed bit off and what did you use to to put them back together again. I will try and add photo's.
  2. I agree dont powder coat. Have a look at POR15 for chassis, I believe it does not chip and if you do the correct prep works good.
  3. Hi Knobless, do you still have these and would they be ok for 1936 desoto Airstream? Peter
  4. Thanks jpage for info. Kris Arneson in Canada said he can mould the mat to steel for $1700 but it would then need to be glued to running board. I like your idea using stock rubber and cementing, glue would you use? One other question please, the plymouth doctor website had wooden insert for roof for Desoto. I have dealt with Wayne in the past but do not seem to get any replies to emails do you know if they are still operating? kind Regards Peter
  5. Looking for replacement mats for my 36 Desoto, is there anyone who still makes them with the clips to attach to running board. The ones i found you had to glue the mat to the board and not use the clips that you twist. Also is the Plymouth doctor still operating, tried emailing for Roof Bows last year and got no reply. Peter

  7. I think joe is doing a Desoto Airstream S1 and not a Chrysler. My Desoto Airstream Delux has these and they work fine.
  8. Hi Joe, i got an email saying he was going to hershey which i replied to. Sent another email to arrange moulds and had no reply. Could you please ask Diran to check his emails or join forum. Thanks again, Peter
  9. 61polara i have a 36 Desoto Airstream and want gear knob fixed and steering wheel done, am i best to email you at danddautomobilia.com. I am located in Australia and would pay postage back and forth. peter
  10. One more question, is there a trick to get the plastic looking insert in the knob out. Mine is roached and needs replacing, does someone make replacements or do you have to make one.
  11. Thanks everyone, Jim i put a hex key in the hole after knob was pulled out fully and pressed down on key, you could feel it depress i assume the spring you talked about then knob and shaft slipped out. Easy when you know how, i am sure there are a few light switches which have gone to god because this has tricked their owners. Thanks again, Peter
  12. Yes jpage, it is a switch in my 36 Desoto. I will give that a try. hook, I agree a lot of us are not getting any younger and some of this good info gets lost.
  13. Here are some more photos, there is a hole. When knob pulled out there is a black pin?
  14. I tried rotating knob but will not budge. There is a hole which i will post photo of, when knob pulled full out whole is filled with maybe a pin.
  15. I know this has been talked about in other sessions. I just cannot see where to get knob off. Some talk about slot near knob shaft which this does not appear to have. Any help appreciated.
  16. Have a look on Ebay there are two sets of Plymouth which i think will work.
  17. Hi Ian, love your work. Just jumping back a bit, where did you get the brake alignment tool from or did you make one up? I am in Auz and doing a 1936 Desoto. Peter
  18. Hi, I have been looking for a set or one to re-mold these pads. Noticed that there was an add in WPC back in 2015 where Diran Yazejian was selling these with steel core for $189 for set of 4. Can anyone tell me if he still makes these or if you have one for sale if he does not. I have an email address but not getting any reply. His add was for a company named Innovative Design Associates. Thanks Peter
  19. Pete, I think there is a guy in New Zealand who makes these,. Check on the Airflow website. To pick up a set is not easy and condition is the other issue. Peter
  20. Yes, maybe ask him for photo that usually sorts them out as most of these scammers would not know one end of a car from the other.
  21. WTB one override pad in reasonable condition to be used as a mold to re-manufacture replacements. Need it to scan and create a mold. Hope to produce a set for myself, the provider and some extras to on sell.
  22. Do you have part numbers?
