1937 Cadillac LaSalle, not mine.
suchan replied to Xander Wildeisen's topic in "Not Mine" Automobiles For Sale
Ouch. Maybe $2500-3000 for parts. It is a coupe with side mounts, so there's some value. Bakersfield car, so likely not much rust. -
Looks like the driver's door is sagging. Gap at the front edge is wider than the passenger door. Very long, very heavy doors, so hopefully all it needs is an adjustment. Looks to be a pretty good asking price, but "firm" price ads are problematic. Maybe a car is EXACTLY as described, or underpriced, but usually not. Better to leave a little slack in the price for issues the seller isn't aware of (or willfully ignoring).

for sale - cars 1936 Buick Roadmaster Model 81 *SOLD*
suchan replied to Matt Harwood's topic in Buick - Buy/Sell
That's a beauty. You don't seem to see as many really nice '36's as '37's and '38's. Nice asking price, too. Bravo, Matt. -
And a "clean" vehicle title. We might be tempted to blame spellcheck, but those are some strange errors. And it's 4WD? $16K sounds about right. It is a nice car, and I like the dual carb setup with the slant 6, although the chromed valve cover just looks trashy. Bet it's a fun driver.

FS 1940 Buick Century Sport Phaeton on BAT
suchan replied to George Cole's topic in "Not Mine" Automobiles For Sale
That's mentioned in the BAT comments. Seller asked owner about the color, owner replied, "I do not like gray engines.". Sharp car. I think most late 30's/40's four door convertibles look ungainly, but this one's pretty good. Currently at $30K. -
I like it! Certainly not authentic as noted, but a fun car for shows and parades. Black wheels as well as fenders would help a lot.

That T-Bird is nice! The Electra convertible would look great with a black top. Being from California, seeing that much rust would send me scurrying though. The '34 Dodge is a sharp car. Seller should've cleaned up the crap in the back seat for photos, and what's with the rear bumper? Tapped out on the re-chroming budget? Son-in-law would give that '51 Chevy 5-window a long, hard look. A little pricey, but the body looks straight.

My sister was engaged for a while to a guy who had a '64 GT with a 318 and 4 speed. Fun car. Not sure a 170 could be hot rodded sufficiently to make it fun as well. A 225, probably could. Someone in another thread posted a link to a six-cylinder speed shop that (I recall) promised a 120% HP increase with their $1800 engine kit. I had a '72 Valiant with a 225. Great car, kick myself for selling it. 20 years after I sold it, I still saw it around town. Those motors are bulletproof.

1931 Dodge for sale or trade! - $12,000 (Ramona)
suchan replied to a topic in "Not Mine" Automobiles For Sale
Definitely the #1 Dodge collector in Ramona. Rear doors are both ajar. Too lazy to close, or structural issues? It almost looks like they overlap the front doors. -

For Sale - 1937 Cadillac Series 75 Limo on BaT
suchan replied to George Cole's topic in "Not Mine" Automobiles For Sale
Let's see....4745 lbs shipping weight, $37K bid....that's less than $8 a pound! There's no telling how (or why) the BAT crowd will react to old cars. Lucky seller. -
For Sale - 1937 Cadillac Series 75 Limo on BaT
suchan replied to George Cole's topic in "Not Mine" Automobiles For Sale
Bid to $32K as of now. Seller should be breaking out the party hats. -
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rolling_stock Seems like the seller should've taken his/her own advice and checked Wiki first. I'm guessing what was intended is that the car rolls but doesn't run. Reno has seriously low humidity, so if the car was parked under cover all those years, good to go rust-wise, but I doubt the seller backed it into the sagebrush just for the photo shoot. It's a sure thing the interior is cooked. If the motor isn't seized, maybe just getting it running and driving as is makes sense. Anything beyond that, and you're quickly underwater.
