  1. I think this is the Futura model, and the four-speed was standard with the 302.
  2. One of the owners seems to have been a lot more interested in mechanicals than cosmetics, but it wouldn't take much to improve. Maybe some WWW's on bias-profile radials? Nice car.
  3. Agree with the valuation. My Fairmont was a 4 cylinder with a factory 4 speed, and you needed every one of those gears to get it going.
  4. My first new car was a Fairmont. Parts were almost dropping off of it as I drove it out of the dealership. It would have been considered a terrible car if only there hadn't been so much domestic competition for that distinction at the time. Sure, it's a 302. Instead of the 88 HP four, you got maybe 120-140 HP? But it is a nice, clean example, and I always liked the upholstery. I had a couch at the time that almost matched..
  5. That's a lot of metal to move with a six. Odd subject for a restoration, too. Low-value body style with an insufficient motor.
  6. Good-looking, clean car, sharp inside and out, bucket seats. A lot here to like, and a fair asking price. Great find, 6-T Fin Seeker.
  7. Good looking car. Like the disc wheels. Wildly overpriced for a car that the trailer suggests doesn't run, but a nice-looking car.
  8. Handsome car. I like the color. Not sure a proper upholstery job can be done for the $5K the seller is willing to allow, even on a coupe. Seller mentions having it done the buyer's way; in other words, NOT red velour? I agree, the price is optimistic. If I could get an insurer to agree my trusty LaSalle was worth THAT much more than market.....
  9. https://bringatrailer.com/listing/1927-auburn-service-truck-2/ Except for the Home Depot-inspired cargo box, looks like well-done conversion. I especially like the wheels.
  10. To be honest, I couldn't recall ever seeing a 2 door New Yorker, and couldn't google one just now, but I did find an image of a Newport. Sharp car!
  11. I felt the same about that color until I bought a Corot Beige '38 Buick. After a while it grows on you, and looks good with a lot less work than black. Some cars look as good or better to me as 4 doors ('38 Buick, early 60's Continentals, '67 TBird, etc.), and I think this is another one. I agree, clean car!
  12. I think the seller is getting some bad advice. Almost tripling the asking price of a car that isn't selling doesn't sound like something you'd come up with on your own.
  13. "Taking offers" is lame. Get a car guide, read it, then post an asking price. You can come up with a decent asking price for anything nowadays with a little online work. I agree it's a nice car in good colors.
  14. Looks pretty good. Clean. Too bad the seller couldn't have backed the car into the sunlight for some better photos.
  15. Well, it's not a Roadmaster or a Limited for starters. Super? Healthy asking price and skimpy photos. And it's been lowered a bit, hasn't it? More information needed.
  16. Anyone surprised by the color of the upholstery? I'd expect red, maybe some shade of tan. Yellow (cream) and green makes me think of John Deere tractors.
  17. They look like crime scene photos. Like the seller is trying to show precisely how dirty the car is. Barn-find syndrome? I bet it would clean up well, including the brightwork. Sharp car in any case, and may well be worth restoring.
  18. Can't see what's custom about it (and that's a good thing), but the chrome looks pretty good. If it runs (I didn't see any mention one way or the other), then it seems like a fair asking price. And FB sucks. In so many ways.
  19. Cool concept. It just needs someone with bodywork skills (and taste) to finish it off.
