Roger's handcrafted 1:12 scale models
Alex D. replied to Roger Zimmermann's topic in Our Cars & Restoration Projects
The brace from the L bracket is something I added to belter support the heat shield. There is a mud pan on each side of the engine which I do not have that is attached to the heat shield. Here is some pictures from the authenticity manual. Heat shield ^ 1931^ 1932 mud pan. V16 should be longer.^ -

Looks great as usual Roger. Just to make things a little more complex for you, here is a couple pictures of the Clutch and brake assist boosters from a V12 car. The clutch assist is part of the freewheeling. I do not believe the V8 Cars had brake assist boosters. top view bottom view view from under -
JB's did the machine work for my 32 Cadillac. For the Babbitt, they ship to someone in PA. They do nice work. jbsautomachine.com

Kindly contact Hall in Texas with email address, hallholmes01@ ...... is also on the CLC forum by Hamg with O post. I reported him to the administrator there. Here on the AACA he is Kimber72 with 6 post with the same email address but in Mississippi. I reported him here after I had emailed hail. He could not supply details or pictures but did supply an address. After a google search of the address, it was obvious a scam and I would send no one into that neighborhood.

I didn't find it but I know the fellow that helped retrieve it. I hope it has a better life with its new owner. I'm just excited to see it again after 40 years. Alex D. -

First memory I bought the Buick from an Antique car Collector/dealer in Edgewood MD when I was about 25 years old. Before I could get it home a deal for a 1929 twin ignition Nash basket case fell in my lap. Well, I certainly couldn’t pass that one up. The Buick sat in a friend’s service station lot around the corner from where I lived until I could figure out what to do with my 2 new acquisitions. The Nash took priority since it was a basket case and moved into my parents’ garage while the Buick sat at the service station. Before I could break the news to my Dad, he was at the station getting gas and asked the owner where he got the old Buick. I could imagine the look on my dad’s face when the owner said “well that’s your sons”. I guess sometimes it’s better to ask forgiveness than to ask for permission. Have you ever asked your dad if you could drive his car back and forth in the drive way prior to getting your license? You could imagine the feeling I had when my dad asked me if he could drive my Buick back and forth in the driveway. This picture was taken the day I bought the car, around 1977 -
I saw on Face Book where a friend was helping drag this old Buick out of the woods. At a closer look, THAT’S MY OLD BUICK! I knew right away when I saw the blue velvet interior. I enjoyed the car for a few years until I had to sell it to fund the purchase of the property where I now live. The Buick now is back one street over from where I lived at the time it was sold. I had always wondered what had become of the Buick. Now the story of the 1930 Buick continues. 1930 Buick 60 series, picture taken in the late 70's around the time it was sold Time has not been kind! How could this have happened?

You didn't misread, I edited the original post to read 3001 only after finding out the 3003 has a larger base. Thanks Alex D.
-
Thanks but, I was informed that the 3003 bulb was for Packard and had a larger base than what was used for Cadillac. I believe I will continue searching for the correct 3001 bulb for Cadillac. Alex D.
