  1. This makes sense. I was under the car getting the fuel tank out for a customer and remembered that it was a posi unit so I thought I would post. It is a 1972 GS and it is the original rear end. Thank you for the tip....
  2. 2:5 turns on the pinion to 1 turn on the drum. 2:55. Does that sound right? I do not know the '71-73 Rivs that well.

  7. I am on the other side of the spectrum in that I spend my professional day around our vintage parts cars. Week in and week out. I see unfinished tin every day. This is a very very nice car. Solid description. Looks great.

  10. looks like it is from a four door. I may be wrong without the regulator in my hands but that is what I am seeing.

  12. You can make the '55-56 work with modification. Not hard. What can work correctly is convertible only. Buick Special/Century and Olds 88,Super 88 and 98. Push come to shove you can take hardtop versions and cut them down to work. You will need a convertible version for a pattern.
  13. Hollander does not interchange regulators in the early/mid 50's editions. The regulators are '54 only.

  19. My brother has done high end restorations the last 25 years winning national awards consistently. He advises me $100,000 +/-. His shop rate however is lower than many big city shops.

  24. For what it is worth to you I found a treasure trove of information on the Auburn dealership here in my hometown in Idaho. I went to the local library. They had the local newspaper on microfilm dating back to the early 1920's
