  1. Mr Earl, Wish I knew, just a listing my brother sent me. Chuck
  2. Philip, i can’t help with your questions but a 38 showed up on Craigslist you might want to investigate. Not mine so I don’t know anything about it. https://philadelphia.craigslist.org/cto/d/1938-buick-8/6450991375.html
  3. Not mine, I would be interested if I had a bigger garage though https://philadelphia.craigslist.org/cto/d/1938-buick-8/6450991375.html
  4. I think you’ll find the the “B” on the 32 caps are different than the 30 and 31 caps as well. The cap in the picture is correct for the 30 and 31. Also I believe the smaller diameter caps are for the smaller series cars. The diameter for the 31 and 32 big series cars are the same though I can’t remember what it is. Chuck
  5. In the spirit of the Christmas season I have to say that the vast majority of my transactions on EBay have been positive. With over 3,000 since 1998 I’ve only had one obvious scammer try to take me by returning an item that was obviously not the one I sold them and in much worse condition. Luckily the item I sold had a serial number which I had stated in the ad so it was easy to prove the person was trying to pull a fast one. Most items I buy are packed well, though some were really crappy, but overall I guess I’ve been lucky. Now ebay itself and what it’s turned into.........don’t get me started!!!
  6. Not sure, but this might be the same trim.
  7. Running board trim would be L&L Auto Trim. I believe they are still in business. (417) 476-2871 The correct mat I got from a guy who advertises in Hemmings. Can't remember his name but I'll find the invoice and post it.
  8. I have a clutch cover assembly but not a disc. I have 2 exhaust manifolds,. Neither is perfect though. One is slightly warped and the other has the tips of the mounting ears chipped off. No cracks or other damage though. The running boards you can make, and there is a guy that repops the trim and another that does the mat. I have a used set of trim if you want though. I'll get pics up when I get out to the garage.
  9. The Fooey face is freakin awesome! Terry, can you post any pics of the other pieces of the set?
  10. OK, I picked up this little desk calendar. So lets see some of the unique calendars you have out there.
  11. I found this old photo in a scrapbook of 1950's era racing pictures. This is obviously a prewar car so doesn't fit with everything else in the book. Any ideas of the year and make? Does the driver look familiar? Thanks for any help. Chuck
  12. We can complain all we want about the food costs at the meet (and I do sometimes), but the fact is we are in a supply and demand free country and business people are going to charge as much as they can as demand dictates. Think about it, what are you charging today for an original porcelain petroleum sign that people were throwing away 50 years ago. If you picked it out of the garbage in 1976 and had it for sale at Hershey today and calculate your storage, transportation, etc it might be 5 or 10 bucks, you want to make a reasonable profit so you would sell it for $20. Are you going to sell it for that or are you going to sell it for the going rate that demand dictates. Expenses don't mean much in pricing, demand does. Just sayin.
  13. OK , I've been on another kick. I did not realize there were so many unusual inkwells and ash trays related to antique cars. Now I'm starting to collect some of them. I just bought this one and I have a couple more couple more coming(sorry had to sell the horn to help pay for my new must haves). Not sure of the age or what it is made from but it is about a foot long. The hood opens to reveal an inkwell. What do you have out there that are inkwells or ashtrays?
  14. Ha, me thinks some are confused between a business and a hobby. Most of the business run spots are staffed the whole time, me as a one man show hobbiest will do as I please and if it don't please you.....too bad. I'll be at my site when I can and when I can't I won't. I do not make a living offering the parts I've accumulated and frankly I am usually under water when all is said and done, but if someone needs or wants what I have and it helps their project along or brings them a little joy that's great. But I am not going to be waiting with baited breath for someone to come along if I don't want to be there every minute of every day. And 48 is way off base, that is not employee parking in the Chocolate field it is VOLUNTEER parking. Hats off to them.
  15. I've been going to Hershey for 15 years as a buyer and I've always seen the empty spots, camping spots, and cars just parked. It might be worse than in the past and I am in the camp that would like to see vendors consolidated and a " premium parking" section for those that need or want it. Long term, I think there will always be a place for Hershey. I am just a hobbyist, and I don't make a living from it, but I've been selling (and buying) stuff on EBay since 1998. There are things that are not easily sold there that are at a swap meet. Oversized items, back issues of magazines, fragile items, etc. I was a vendor at Hershey for the first time this year and I think it worked out well. Wednesday was the most productive for me and I got rid of lots of big old stuff cluttering up my garage, met lots of nice people, and I had fun. Now I live local so my outlay of dollars was less than some others but it was well worth it for me. By the way my space was empty Thursday after 3 and all day Friday for family reasons. I'll be selling again next year.
  16. I will have an assortment of 1931-32 90 Series Buick parts, Datsun 240Z parts, Harley 45 parts and lots of rare literature at Hershey Green Field GCA17.
  17. I will have an assortment of 1931-32 90 Series Buick parts at Hershey Green Field GCA17. At least 2 radiators untested Radiator shroud with shutterstat insert. Air cleaners exhaust manifolds oil coolers clutch pressure plate (no discs) hub caps etc etc etc
  18. I am still waiting to get the motor back. They sent the block out to have the crack repaired. Waiting for that to come back and for the pistons to arrive. After that it will get final machining done and I'll bring it back to my shop for final assembly. Reeves is saying end of October. I'll post the assembly here as I go once I have it back.
  19. Well, after walking the rows for 15 years I'm going to try the other side of the fence. I got a vendor space this year (should have got two but too late now) and I want to ask some of you who have been at it for a while for some advice. 1. Is it worthwhile to set up and sell on Tuesday instead of Wednesday? 2. I am in the green field just to the left front of the Giant Center and will be commuting back and forth from home (35 minutes away from Hershey). I have a canopy with sides so would it be reasonably safe to leave the items there over night unattended (knowing there are no guarantees of course). 3. How much of a pain is it driving in and out each day (another reason I should have gotten two spaces- easier parking). Any sage tips for making it less difficult? Thanks for your input, Chuck
  20. Jeff, My engine is being redone right now. I picked up my running 90 series about 3 years ago and did drop the pan , check compression, etc, but I did not pull a bearing to check the Babbitt. Of course after getting most everything done and starting to drive it, it started to make noise, dropped the pan again and pulled a bearing and sure enough the bearings were going. So I would follow all the good engine advice so far received, and after that go through the whole cooling system, including the oil cooler. Good luck. Chuck
  21. Big class 8 truck parts stores would carry 1/8" pipe thread drain valves if O.Riellys doesn't pan out.
  22. The cylinders need to be bored, and I cannot find any pistons for this motor, standard or otherwise. If we could have found some standards than sleeving probably might have been the choice. So pistons need to be made anyway. I hadn't thought about upping the compression ratio. I'll talk to them about it on Monday if it is not too late. I am getting it balanced. Thanks for the feedback. Chuck
  23. If I remember right Then & Now had pump castings, depending on which pump you have. Might be worth a call. http://www.then-now-auto.com/ Chuck
  24. Dave, I hope the nickel test is definitive because I put everything back together assuming I had safety glass. But you know what they say when you assume. Chuck
