  1. Came in the mail yesterday. What a great cover as expected.
  2. DMV in PA is very strict. Please get some legal advice before trying anything in PA. Been there done that.
  3. Thanks for the update guys. Yes, it is a great magazine and I read it cover to cover. Walt, can't wait to read you story in this issue.
  4. Does anyone know if Crankshaft Magazine #6 has been mailed out?
  5. A 1933 series 50 Buick is 230.4 ci with 86 hp and 173 ft lbs of torque
  6. You will not be disappointed. Each issue is better than the last.
  7. Using the Old Car Price Guide..... number 1 is about 67,000 number 2 about 47,000 and number 3 about 30,000. Based on this I would agree with Jolly John.
  8. Try posting in the Dodge Brothers forum . A lot of guys on here only read the posts about their specific car.
  9. It is the same covering that is used for the wiring. I got mine from Rhode Island Wiring. By the way when you are ready to do the wiring they are a good source for all your wiring needs. Thanks Jim
  10. My 1942 Buick has the springs. I clamped the drum to the corner of the work bench with the springs under the clamps. This will keep the drum from not moving which is key. Then with 4 hands and 3 heavy duty screwdrivers managed to get in in place. Heavy gloves are a must. Good luck. Jim
  11. Rhode Island Wire gets my vote. Very helpful. I just checked their catalog and your car is listed. Give them a call.
  12. There is not a Pre War Buick site to sell or buy parts. There is a general site for all Buicks.
  13. Just received my copy of Crankshaft #5 this morning. Since it is currently zero outside in Northeast PA, will be reading it all day today.
  14. Try Waldron Exhaust. (269) 467-7185
  15. Right now I belong to....... AACA CCCA Metro Region Long Island Sound Region BUICK CLUB OF AMERICA DODGE BROS CLUB Thinking about a national chevy club, not sure which one.
  16. If the oil filter was either factory installed or done by the dealer, then the NAPA FIL 1001 would be correct. But sometimes the filters were added by the local mechanic and may have been an after market brand. Case in point, my 1942 Buick has an Allstate oil filter added. Thanks Jim
  17. I agree. It does not get any better for that type of work.
  18. Quick update. Needed to order some grommets etc, to protect the new wiring thru the firewall and radiator support. Also decided to clean up the engine bay a little. Thanks Jim
  19. Started on the starting harness. This includes the neutral safety switch starter button and coil wire. This is a separate harness because the car is an automatic. If it was standard shift, would all be part of the main harness. Template for the starting harness. Starting to lay up wire for the starting harness. That black wire is 8 gauge. A little difficult to work with, does not stay put, needed to clamp it down. Harness wrapped with the same tape as the main harness. The part that is not wrapped is in the engine bay. It is from the neutral safety switch on the steering column, thru the fire and to the starter button. I wrapped this part, but it should have had the braided loom. This is far from a show car so that was not important to me. Thanks for all the interest. Jim
  20. It is a non sticky wrap tape. Closest I could find.
  21. That is all the under the dash wiring. The heater is an accessory for 1952, so it is a separate harness. The wrap is a little shinier than I wanted, but close to the original that I uncovered under the dash that was not affected by heat and sunlight. The original wrap that was in the engine bay was a lot duller and very brittle.
  22. The main harness all covered. Going to test fit and then start on the starting harness.
  23. Started on the wiring for the Chevy. Laid out the template for the main harness. To the left is the front lights and to the right is under the dash. All wiring is run and taped. All dash wiring in place and taped. More to follow. Thanks Jim
  24. Thanks pont35cpe. Did just as you suggested and the button pulled out with a little bit of work. Above is the repair kit from Bob's Here is the original vent window lock. Repair kit installed in driver side vent window. Thanks again pont35cpe. Jim
