I'm seeking advice on which polishing/cleaning products to use on the ORIGINAL paint on my 1939 Special which will enhance the finish without damaging it.
Thanks in advance for your advice !
Has anyone ever successfully removed the glass from the front vent wing window without first removing the window frame and if so what process did you use?
I want to replace the glass on both vent wing windows on my 39 Special without having to remove the entire vent window assembly.
Thanks in advance !
The 1953 I mention is a Straight Eight - It can be viewed by going to Craigslist, go to States, then to Arizona, then to Phoenix, then By Owner, then enter 1953
Thanks for the feedback I will try to view the 53 this weekend
There is a gentleman in the Phoenix area currently advertising what he calls a 1953 Buick Roadmaster for sale on Craigslist. The car appears to be a 53 Special
and not a Roadmaster from what I can tell. Can a few of you Post War friends take a look and post your opinion about this car and your opinion on the asking price.
I live in the Phoenix area and focus on Pre War Buicks Thank you
I have listed a 1939 column shift lever for sale (without the knob) on Ebay The lever is maroon/burgundy and came from an early production Buick Century
It is complete with the turn signal switch and the wiring although the wires are frayed and brittle and attaching hardware. If any of you are interested
you can message me for additional pictures and description Thanks for looking
Today I was able to get a new battery from BATTERIES PLUS for $138 out the door I was happy with the price and the service.
NAPA in my area had 2 in stock but the dates on them are from 2022 and the price is $170 plus taxes
I have a spare OEM 39 Special window crank handle with the correct burgundy/cranberry color knob and escutcheon for sale They are in good condition
guessing 8 out of 10. I do not have the ability right now to download pictures on my desktop but anyone interested I can send pics by text or email.
I also have an OEM door handle with the burgundy/cranberry escutcheon for sale that I can forward pictures I am offering them here first before I go to EBAY or other sites
Off to Spokane this Friday for the National Show Hope to run into some of you !
Thanks for the feedback you guys I just purchased two window cranks with maroon knobs and escutcheons and 1 door handle with maroon escutcheon for my 39
Special that were listed on Ebay I feel very fortunate to have gotten them because they were listed under 1940 parts and I happened to spot them on a hunch to look at the 1940 page.
I try for OEM parts whenever possible and as you all know 1939 parts can be a challenge
What is the official color designation of the window and vent window crank knobs? I've seen many descriptions from maroon to burgundy to cranberry
but am uncertain of the actual color description assigned by Buick ? Thanks for looking !
