1. No all mine are of Candy Barr.
2. I enjoy small auctions with 100 cars or less. I go to as many as I can and see a lot of the same people from a 400 mile radius. We find great deals good restaurants and help each other out as much as possible. We don’t want or need to go to the big TV auctions where crazy people drive prices too high.
3. Speaking from my experience as an electrical engineer, no one involved with electronics will buy products from china unless they are just trying to make junk. They have zero quality control. This next part is the real scary part. Metal made in china gives off radiation due to their smelting process. They dump coal ash into the molten metal to get rid of the ash and because they just don’t care about anything.
4. I spend a good bit of time window shopping every day on craigslist and I noticed all those project cars were gone now. So I would bet your right JACK M
5. I operated a fairly good sized logging company in Michigan in the 70s. When I would go out to check on my crews I would find a model A in places that four wheel drive trucks were not able to get into. In the mornings one of my guys would who owned the model A would wait for the rest of the crew at the edge of the woods. The crew would climb in and he would take them in. The model A could use the same path as the skidder, ruts and all and if it were to get stuck the guys could jump out and reposition it. Those tall skinny tires and the steady pull of the model A engine were perfect for the woods.

7. "Did you see anyone over by that Rolls?" he asked. "No, what's the matter?" we responded. "Someone stole the mascot off the radiator!" and he ran off, frantically looking for the crook. I guess we must have looked too bland to pull off a such a bold, daylight heist. The butler did it for sure.
8. UT OH your going to get a bunch of cry babies telling you about having beer in a car. but it does sound like fun.
9. I have the front fenders from my 1934 Oldsmobile L34 on the work bench. They have been sandblasted and had the obvious dents removed. It took a while before I noticed that they are different. One fender rounds down to the bottom edge and has a slight flair out before rounding in. The other fender rounds in some before it flairs out and rounds off. This extra body line runs around the whole fender. Could there have been a fender from another year olds or another car used? Every other part of the fenders are the same and were bolted together on the car when I got it.
10. Speeding is one of my main character defects. I am not reckless in any way I do my speeding on open stretches of highway with low amounts of traffic. I have had cops that have no idea how fast I was going but they knew it was over the speed limit. There were quite a few times where it was point to point = speed. I have not slowed down much as I get older but I do get more warnings than tickets these days. I got one a couple of years ago that made me mad. I was traveling through Richmond Virginia on 64 at about 7am on a Sunday morning. The speed limit had dropped to 55 but I kept the cruise control set at a high speed. There was almost no traffic and I had four lanes of open road when I noticed flashing lights in the grill of a junky dodge intrepid behind me. The intrepid was several years old dented and rusty with no markings to indicate police. It had tinted windows that were just dark enough that I could not tell if the guy driving was wearing a uniform. I pulled over and waited to see what got out of the intrepid before putting my car in park. It was a highway patrol officer and the poor guy must have been having a bad day because his attitude was awful. The jerk gave me a ticket for more than twenty over the limit which is reckless operation in Virginia. I know I was speeding but it was not at all reckless. I took the ticket and drove on home to Ohio where I have received several letters from Virginia DMV threatening me for not paying or showing up in court. I have sent several letters back telling them why I won’t pay and that they need to use common sense when giving tickets. Virginia has lost out on revenue because I no longer do any business in that state. I have lost all respect for their highway patrol and their court system. There is nothing they can do to me unless I am stopped again in Virginia so they lose on this one.
11. I have been in brand exclusive clubs with the right vehicle and have also had perfectly/correctly restored vehicles. I will not join a club that is not enjoyable what would be the point. My vehicles are for my enjoyment and if others get enjoyment from them that’s great. If a club has a mission statement that reads OUR MISSION IS TO HAVE AS MUCH FUN AS POSSIBLE WITHOUT HURTING ANYONE ELSE then I might be attracted to join. I might encourage others to join and I might even take on some sort of service position in that club. Notice that I said service position not leadership position anyone can be a leader by setting a good example service is doing the things that no one else wants to do. If a groups by laws are fallowed there should never be any controversy but we all know that even the best groups have some.
12. when i was posting i noticed your in richmond. have you been to phantom works in Norfolk? I stoped in and checked it out one rainy day last fall when i was in the area.
13. i thought bottoms up ment something else sorry.
14. Whether a club or organization grows in size and memberships depends on one thing enjoyment. Making sure the rules and traditions are fallowed usually helps with the enjoyment part of members experience. Using the federal government as an example of how to do things is completely mad.
15. One of my neighbors bought a ford van with the 351. The muffler had been installed backwards and it also had an exhaust leak. So when he would have to accelerate hard there would be a hell of a whoosing sound. He asked me why his van made such a strange sound and I told him it was not strange at all. I told him he had one of those ford vans with the jet engine. I let him ponder that for a few days before I told him it was a joke.
16. I used to get abandoned vehicles from the Indiana toll road. One such vehicle was a 1969 Chevy shortbed that was in very good condition. The windshield defroster tubes werestuffed full of peyote root. </o>
17. President, vice president, board of directors, and or anyother elected position IS a service position. These trusted servants do notmake decisions they are there to get input from areas and regions. They usethat input to do what the majority of members have intended for them to do. Whentrusted servants do otherwise your bylaws should make it possible to removethem instantly. If your club does not work through every member in everyarea and region to get to a solution then you will always have these problems. Ithink in this case the bylaws were broken by a few misguided servants. Now the club as a whole will have to fix theproblem. Maybe this will be a good thing in the long run because people will bereminded that the elected positions are service positions.
18. He would have been riding with the early gypsy motorcycleclubs that were in our area. I would have liked to listen to his stories. I wishI had known him.
19. Another thought I have is that if I were going to be takingout in a crash a 1950 anything would be better than a mini van. I can just picture ST Pete standing at thepearly gates laughing and saying why the hell were you driving a mini van.
20. Was she texting? That’s what I keep thinking. I bought a1950 Desoto this spring. Hitting thatwith a mini van would be like hitting a Sherman tank with a moped.
21. Yesterday morning while searching craigslist cars by owner inoticed a 1973 Kawasaki 90cc road bike in near perfect condition $400 OBO. Iemailed the guy and told him I would take it for that price. I had bought one just like it in 1973 new from the localdealer and loved it. It was destroyed two years later in a garage fire and itwas not covered by insurance. I havelooked at a few over the years but never found one that was worth buying. I drovean hour and a half one way to pick it up yesterday and when I got it home I putjust enough gas in it to drive me around for half an hour. I parked it next tomy 1977 KZ1000 last night. I am so happy and very blessed to have another of myold friends back in my garage.
